Let's stop any Liara bashing before it gets out of hands.

I don't dislike Liara 'cause she's appearing every second mission on my screen but I dislike the writer's decision to use Liara whenever it's possible to appear on screen. Light difference but an important one.

Just stay friendly - no need to start another bash ... =)

If Liara's the fixed squadmate again - I'm not buying it. Simple as. I don't care if I miss out on Ashley content. Sorry, to be the downer, but it'll only be Zaeed style dialogue anyway and a little BF flirting, or not... you know how BW love to give Ash the short stick.

Liara's been forced in the game too much for my liking. Anymore and the game will be about her... I feel that way already somtimes.

Would be nice to have a mission for the Virmire Survivor that explores what they were doing the past few years.

Bonus points if Kaidan and Ash weren't even doing the exact same things.

@Data: You're right, Liara is one of the few characters that can still be alive, and I think that's an important lesson for anyone who tries to do a trilogy like this in the future: Limit the number of characters who can die prior to the final part of the trilogy.

It would be nice to have a mission for the Virmire survivor since they are the only squad member from the first two games who doesn't have a personal mission.

They are also the only squad member who isn't forced to be your squad member in the entire game when you can choose.

At least we get an idea of what Kaidan was doing: Teaching/tutoring biotics for military high-risk operations.
We haven't a f*cking clue what happened to Ash in the last few years.

Not sure if BW hates Ashley or if the writers simply had no ideas how to deal with her, but for now I concur with you in that field: Ash got far not enough content compared against to any other squadmate on board. Except maybe Tali, but that's only the case since she joins your squad quite late in the game.

I gave up the hope we might see more content for Ash. We're simply not loud enough to be heard by BW and even an united VS fandom won't force BW to give us some stuff for the VS. That's it.

@Data: You're right, Liara is one of the few characters that can still be alive, and I think that's an important lesson for anyone who tries to do a trilogy like this in the future: Limit the number of characters who can die prior to the final part of the trilogy.

Well, I said it before in ME2: too many new guys, too many redundant guys. Results are known: out of the bunch, only Mordin and Legion had something like a role. Miranda's story doesn't add anything to the game, Thane has one good moment, most characters of ME2 got sidelined to a single secondary mission you easily can ignore without harming the story.

Well, maybe BW won't do the same mistake next trilogy. I rather have a squad of six up to eight, but all of them have a role in a trilogy, than 18 guys with a lot of redundant people I never use and which are forgotten by plot and developers.

I think he had a very different idea of where Ashley was heading in ME3. He probably had his own plans for her, since the ME2 writers knew the ME1 romances would be back in style for the last bit of the trilogy.

Perhaps if he was still there, so would Ashley's funny side, and her teasing nickname "Skipper" which I miss so much!

Yes. She's not serving a life sentence.

Both her father and grandfather eventually retired completely. I guess it just depends when Ash decides enough is enough. Usually when women see their friends/sisters getting married and whatnot they want that. Well, I always got that impression.

Plus personally I think Ashley retiring depends on Shepard. If he lives I think she will take a more relaxed role in the Alliance and maybe go into training recruits so she can also look after Shepard and help him to recover and then settle down with him. However, if Shepard is dead I think she'll stay on in the military and maybe even take command of the Normandy and try to continue on Shepards legacy.

Yeah, I agree. It depends on what happens to Shepard. If Shepard dies, Ashley will stay on with the Alliance until she can't fight anymore, or she's KIA. I honestly get the feeling that Ashley will be destroyed without Shepard. The girl has been through hell, and it shows at points.

I don't know what the Alliance will do in the synthesis and control endings. It's not like they need a military force. Any wars break out, reaper-god-Shepard steps in,  takes away the toys and tells everyone to play nice.

Personally, after the war my Shepard just wants to be left alone for a good period with the people he cares about. He'll pass on the promotions, at least for the meantime.

No, she doesn't let her feelings get in the way. Was it a problem? No. Well then. The girl was just voicing her concern. She only brings up doubts about these 'aliens' because they're complete strangers on an advanced, classified ship and they get a free pass. Ash agrees to work with them with no trouble at all and says, "It's not a problem." Weren't you listening? She's also not mad at Aliens for what happened to her Grandfather. She's mad at the public and the Alliance for their reaction, when her grandfather did the right thing. Pay attention and catch up.
