After all Shepard's done, I think a promotion all the way up to "Fleet Admiral" should be under consideration and regular "Admiral" (one step below "Fleet") a certainty.iHorizons wrote...
Do you think Shepard will be an Admiral when he recovers?

Anyone agree? Her character also has some of Ashley's spunk.

Lieutenant Commander -> Staff Commander -> Captain (which you could argue Shepard should've been promoted directly to after being made a SpecTRe, since they had to command their own ship) -> Rear Admiral -> Admiral.ColonelFacepalm wrote...
That would be a huge dump in rank from Commander (most likely Lt Commander) to Admiral.
Yeah, it's a big jump, but after saving the galaxy 3 times already, they're definitely qualified.

I'm delighted to announce I only recently realised a girl who I'm friends with on fb looks a bit like Ashley and has the nice brown eyes and hair. But problem is she is my younger brothers ex so I don't think I can do anything

Ah yea, Sarah Shahi. She's from my hometown. Went to high school with her, not quite enough snark for the Chief.
Hey guys! New to the forums, big Ashley Williams fan!
Cheers,

Plus if he was an Admiral like Hackett he'd be more out of the action and I think he loves being in the middle of it and getting involved. It's like Winters in Band of Brothers, he hated being promoted to Major cause he was no longer on the front line and sat behind a desk while his men were out fighting. I think Shepard would hate missing out as well.

Shepard is a lot like Kirk - he'll miss his ship, his crew and his job. Well, 'though in my headcanon he plans to resign and even filled the form already, he never gave it to any official and never resigned. Instead of, he's out there to save the galaxy one more time.
It's always "one more time". That's Shepard, you know ... ?

Anyone watch the USA show "Fairly Legal"? I started watching it recently and the lead actress, Sarah Shahi, reminds me of a younger Ashley(mostly in the eyes i think).

Yes! If you've ever seen the show 'Life' (it's on Netflix), she definitely has some Ash characteristics in that show too. It's a great show, too bad it got cancelled. <_<
Also, I've hammered out some details about my headcanon post-Reapers/post-EC. Think I might start writing it now since I have a lot of time all of a sudden since I'm not working.

I hate Ash with a passion. She's a xenophobe that's just mad her grandpa surrendered to aliens and is letting her feelings get in the way of basic logic. It's so juvenile to expect all aliens to be out to get humanity, I don't care how easy on the eyes she is. She's a...bad person.

Just a quick question about the EC: if you cheated on Ash during ME2 and then rekindled the romance in ME3 dose the dialogue change during the second goodbye? (Normandy pickup during the run to the beam)

Nah, I don't see how it would be any different. They still rekindled their romance and banged before the final mission. Plus, it's a DLC with limited space, and I think BW used up most of it. But does anybody know what Ash says if you pick the bottom option, "You'll only slow me down."?
And... Yep. I'm a big fan of that fic also. Great work. I'm hoping for a reunion chapter myself.

Did Shepard put a kinetic barrier on his Normandy when he went into Ashleys docking bay? Because I wonder if she is pregnant or not after the pre Cerberus mission exercise
Space birth control.
Military women are encouraged to use it.
/Phew.
Or would that be an unfortunate thing if your Shepard died?

Personally, I like the idea. In fact, I've adopted it for my new canon FShep's backstory (she was born "Azzandra Hackett," but took her mother's name- who kept her maiden name when she married Hackett- when she enlisted in the Alliance Marines to prevent accusations of nepotism). I can understand why some people wouldn't like it (after all Shepard and Hackett can wind up looking dramatically different from each other), but that's why it's called "headcanon" and not specified as lore by BW.Aurora313 wrote...

I wonder if Hackett and Shepard turn out to be friends of some sort. Anderson and Shepard were indeed friends, nearly family - and Hackett seems to have some sort of connection to him too. Does that connection also include Ashley? Despite being formal and such, Hackett feels not that detached from the troops he commands compared to most Generals I know. Maybe it has to do with the fact Hackett worked his way from frontline duty as soldier to an Admiral ...
I'd say that Shepard and Hackett's relationship is a working one. I heard some theory floating around is that Hacket is Earthborn/Spacer Shepard's Dad, but I highly doubt that's the case.
Personally my headcanon wrt to Spacer Shepard's father is that he was a major in Alliance Intelligence. It can sort of explain why he isn't as wide-eyed as other marines (Ashley, Jenkins, etc...), is quite confortable working with aliens and knows something about astrophysics.
Of course by the time Shepard took command of the Normandy, his father had already passed on.

Whoa. Hackett as Shep's dad... That would blow my mind. Would be an interesting point though. Or maybe Admiral Kahoku? Give Shep even MORE reason to hate Cerberus? Sort of like the drama with Hawke's family and blood mages in DA2.
@Allstar7 and @BadExamp1e: Oh cool! Thanks for the shoutouts, mates! Still workin' on it.

I hear ya. I liked when Shepard wasn't a spectre in ME2 (if you went that route) because Shepard doesn't need a title to get things done. I actually would have been perfectly fine if the VS was the only spectre in ME3 if it wasn't for the auto-reinstatement.Dannycni wrote...
I actually like how Shepard isn't at the top like he deserves to be. I think it adds to his character of rogue hero. He has saved tthe galaxy and is a hero to all yet he does it by pissing off the higher ups and by using unconventional methods and I think that makes him so much cooler.

Spectre status: some stuff gets done much easier.
No Spectre status: you may do some extra errands or have to undergo some procedures before getting to your target.
And yeah, Ash being the FIRST human Spectre would make my Shep proud. Of course, it doesn't happen ...

I liked to think of it that fraternization was okay amongst Spectres. So Ash and Shep both as Spectres? No conflict. Both as Alliance only? Disciplinary action. One or the other? Gray area, though probably whomever was the Spectre would probably be okay while the other could get busted.CptData wrote...

It would makes sense to me to break it out where:
Spectre: More Council missions helping other races.
Alliance only: N7 grunt work special forces junk.
Though the actual breakdown of how the missions would go would still be "KIll things dead" so it's probably a wash.

I'd like to think they would have a terrible two in the future.
I don't think there's anybody here who says that their Shepard and Ash wouldn't have a baby somewhere down the line lol. Ash is a family girl. I can see her wanting exactly that, someday when the fighting's not what it used to be.
