Ashley needs more advocates xD

Meh, appears as if Talimancers and Liarafans are far, far more eager to get a DLC. 'though I understand for Tali. I don't really get it for Liara, her romance is quite perfect ...

Ashley needs at least 1 hour romance / friendship content to satisfy my little heart :o

Kinda impossible ... Ashley fans are divided in at least two groups (ask ADLegend):

Those who're still here
Those who're not here

That second group also consists of several smaller groups:
Those who never were here
Those who left

And the later one can be splitted up again ... in the "straight Ashley supporters" and the "bi Ashley supporters" ... ya know.

In a way, our fandom isn't really united. We're part of the VS fandom, but even the ENTIRE VS fandom isn't able to muster enough voices to get heard.

Ashley: Skipper - you die on me again, and you know where this goes next time you come back.
Shepard:That'd make this relationship a bit too boring wouldn't it?
AshleySkipper... !
Shepard: ... I'm going to pay for this in some subtle way, later.
Ashley: Oh, It won't be subtle. I assure you.
Shepard: How is it you can be so sexy when you're threatening?
Ashley: Because you're hopelessly in love with me.
Shepard: Yep. Til the day I die.
Ashley: And even after that. Death doesn't really stick with you.
Shepard: True.
Garrus: Why don't you you get a room and sort this out, so we can get back to killing these damned cannibals!?

yeah, but if I understood it correctly, that thread is aiming at general improvement of LI, not necessarily only for specific characters
no need to be pessimistic ^_^

I'm no pessimist, I'm a realist. And I'm in that business long enough to know that EA/BW won't release a DLC to improve the VS unless they get the impression they would make a lot of money with that DLC.

Let's say I'm sure a Liara DLC has a 10x greater chance to get developed than one dealing with the VS. And the bigger part of the community has enough of Liara!content - they want to see some different stuff. However, BW is still reviewing statistics and if they say Ash died in 90% of the playthroughs, they won't give us a DLC featuring her and Kaidan since 90% of the fandom are not interested in her.

Let's not forget He-Who-Cannot-Write is still the lead writer, a DLC could backfire. He could pull an M. Night Shyamalan on us

Indeed, Data.

Game content is almost guaranteed to sell better than LI content as well. Either way, we get the short end of the stick. But then again, game content may have LI specific parts too. Some of the lines from the new EC files hint at that. Seeing a purely LI based DLC is probably too far fetched.

Fear is, that the Leviathan-DLC will feature mandatory Liara for that mission - again. And I simply can't see a movement that will protest against that favorism ... those who do are blamed for hating Liara, not supported for criticising favorism that damages any other character.

In a way I'm glad BW didn't do it to Ashley 'though I definitely hope for more content. And if there's no Romance DLC, I still hope for a VS centered DLC (VS = mandatory squadmate).

I'm afraid to say I can't see this really happening and if it does will it be worth it for Ash fans? History would suggest no. I would be happy for them to leave ME3 alone now that the EC has come out cause only Liara and maybe Tali will get any real improvements, like Liara really needs them. (not hate just fact)

From what I read, I'm pretty sure there wont be. At least, there was nothing to indicate it.

I think someone had identified several lines as "Liara's" - and I also saw some lines fitting Ashley. And of course - Ash had fewer lines than Liara.

Really, it's absolutely OOC that Ash rarely ever speaks.

I can't remember what mission it was, maybe Earth or when you meet Jacob, but I had Ashley and James with me and James was the only one who spoke the whole time. It kept showing Ashley but she just stood there and didn't say one single line. I couldn't believe it, just shows again how badly she was overlooked in ME3. That's why a DLC isn't enough for me, I want a full blown ME Ashley Williams game!!!Posted Image

(Btw I know that won't happen so don't take it seriously please)

Nah, Danny it has to do with a priority system. In ME1 / ME2 usually the squadmate you picked first had more lines than the second picked squadmate - or something like that.

In ME3, squadmates do have priorities. Garrus, Liara and Vega seem to have the highest priority while the VS has a lower priority to talk. Therefore you rarely see Ash speaking if you have one of the three guys in your squad.

Someone should check that out one day.

I picked James to go with me cause I thought he wouldn't be as bad as Garrus, looks like I'll be bringing EDI next time, that'll go well

Yea but Data that is showing how she's brushed over if she isn't the priority while most of the other crew are.

It kinda makes sense - out of the bunch, only Vega, Liara and Edi are guaranteed to be part of your crew. Garrus can die in ME2, Tali can die in ME2 and ME3, Ash/Kaidan can die in ME1 and ME3.

So guess Garrus got only extra spotlight since the statistics told BW he made it through >80% of all ME2 playthroughs or even more. I really think the amount of lines in ME3 are directly tied to those gameplay statistics. And since Ashley / Kaidan had a 50% chance to die in ME1 PLUS a lot of fans abandoned them after Horizon, BW decided to reduce content for the VS by a lot.

And I think Ash/Kaidan died in most ME3 playthroughs. I really wonder how many Ashleys/Kaidans made it till the bitter end. 10%? 20%?

And that's getting badly brushed over, I understand those points you are making Data and there is some sense to them but a character should be written without the writers thinking 'well who might or might not be dead?' If you are going to write a character then write them properly and don't do a half assed job because they might die.

The VS should also get equal lines saying as you have to save one or the other and so why Kaidan gets more content is very unfair. They should also have alot to talk about, yes those other characters have been with you through ME2 but the VS was missing for a whole game and have gone through so much they should have far more lines than they got and that shouldn't change just because BW think they might be dead in a play through, which Ash isn't in mine so personally it's very unfair to players like me.

From what I got so far, every character got a set budget for lines. Liara, Vega and Garrus got the most, while the VS seem to have a combined and smaller budget than those three guys.

Less budget means less lines.

I'd say, ME3 needed another year of development.

I seriously doubt one more yeah and a bigger budget would add a lot of Ash lines or make her and Liara's equal (sure it would add some but I bet even more would be added to Liara).. The sad truth is BW is in love with Liara and Ash gets left on the sideline. And that's since ME2. :crying:

I agree with Data. If ME had another year under its belt it would have turned out a lot more polished. Though my main complaint is that it's far too linear compared to the previous ones. Yes, in 2 you needed to complete a batch of main quests before unlocking a new set, but the way or order I could do them is was totally up to me.
One was just any mission you want from the getgo, unlocking Virmire than eventually ilos. I miss that level of freedom.

And that's why I desperately want to do a reboot of the series.
But being part of the writers team doing that reboot is smaller than winning the jackpot in a lottery. On the other hand, if I could win the big Euro-Jackpot, I could fund a ME reboot .. *chin-rub* ;)

For a balanced dialogue, bring Garrus and Ashley.

Liara steals lines like there is no tomorrow. Ashley and Tali is great on Quarian related missions.

Garrus steals a lot of lines too. I think it's more or less:

Liara > Garrus > Vega > EDI > Ashley/Kaidan > Tali

Garrus is a dialogue hog. I find taking Vega with Ash provides a good balance though.

And if Im forced to take Liara on any DLC mission, I wont buy it. Bad enough we have to tske her to get Javik, which is pointless when you think about it as she doesn't provide anything useful.

She's the Prothean expert ... B)

But besides that ... well, it makes much more sense to pick the VS for that mission. It was the first job with Kaidan and you picked Ashley up on that planet. I'm sure it has a bigger significance for them than to any other character except Shepard.

The Leviathan-DLC sounds more or less like a "neutral" job with no one needed to do the mission. I wonder if you have to pick some preset character or not. I rather have free choice - in that case, I'd love to have Vega and Ash with me.

Omega-DLC may force you to do half of the job with Aria, 'though.
