Lt. Commander Ashley Williams thread: "Don't 'Ash' me!" We're Back Baby!

That's why Liara's continued pressuring to talk to Shepard in his cabin and discuss rather personal issues bugged me a bit. Even that part near the end where she shares whatever the hell that was, didn't sit well with me. It was too intimate for two friends to be sharing while Shepard has a girlfriend already.

Yeah, you shouldn't want anyone else. If you flirt and check out somebody else and it either doesn't make you sick or guilty - you're not really in love.
Besides, Ash is the jealous type. It ain't happening, Data.

Especially since you had already said goodbye to Ash and had your moment with her, now Liara is trying to get the final word with her mind thing. It felt weird and wrong to me. Liara does just seem to be that sort of girl who has been told no but just won't accept it. Your LI should have been the last person you talked with before Anderson but I suppose the layout didn't lend itself to allow that to happen.

I feel the need to reject Liara's gift at the end, but I feel like such a bucket when I do. That "mind gift" she offered should have been for romanced Shepard's only.

But besides that ... well, it makes much more sense to pick the VS for that mission. It was the first job with Kaidan and you picked Ashley up on that planet. I'm sure it has a bigger significance for them than to any other character except Shepard.
The Leviathan-DLC sounds more or less like a "neutral" job with no one needed to do the mission. I wonder if you have to pick some preset character or not. I rather have free choice - in that case, I'd love to have Vega and Ash with me.
Omega-DLC may force you to do half of the job with Aria, 'though.
The Omega DLC seems like it would be natural to take Garrus along. Since he has, you know - "unique" history on Omega.
Hate to do it to Ash, but if I'm forced to take Aria on that one, it'll be Aria and Garrus. I have to assume Garrus probably knows more about Omega than anyone else on my squad, so it almost seems like he belongs on that mission.

I have never rejected it in all honesty even during my renegade play through. I don't know why but I just want to be nice to all my crew cause I know it might be the end.
Liara: I have something for you Shepard
Shepard: What?
Liara explains
Shepard: Nah it's alright thanks.
Liara blinks suprised
Liara: But...I...
Shepard: No it's fine, see you later, all the best love
Shepard walks away
Liara: By the goddess...?
But after all this Liara talk next time I play it I might not be able to bring myself to accept. (Not hate, I like Liara just not her clingyness)

The hope is that it will finally help her come to terms with the fact that Shepard is interested in Ash, and not her.
I will say - I actually don't mind the fact that Liara seems to still have feelings for Shepard, regardless of whether that's there intentionally or not. In fact, I think it makes for a good story element. The only thing that bugs me about Liara is the unequal time that she gets, especially compared to the VS.

I hated that line she says during her Citadel date, "I wish we could spend more time together like this... just friends." And the tone of her voice says it all.
I was like UGH!?!?
Liara... you still don't get it, do you?

I just walked right by Liara in one playthrough, and I think it was on my Ash (loyal) LI game. I half expected the game to still force her on me by having her turn around and notice me passing by.
I guess you got off that time.
Was I the only one who was hoping Feron would pop her cherry if unromanced? So that I wouldn't feel like this woman was madly in love with my Shepard no matter what.

Example you're right I was pressurised into it, damn it she probably minipulated me in some way!
DWH, I like that idea, someone wrote a dialogue or fanfic that had Liara talk with Ashley after the Crucible and Liara told Ash that during the mind gift thing Shepards most precious memories were made up of times with Ashley. I liked it and think it works well.

Seriously - Feron should have been in the game, and as much as I hate to suggest more Liara content, the game should have developed their relationship more if Liara is unromanced.
I was expecting a mission or two involving Feron, but was let down. Just like I was expecting a mission or two involving Giana Parasini, Kal Reegor, Corporal Toombs, etc...
EDIT: Anyone else thing that the DLC would be a good chance to close the stories for some of these minor characters that got ignored?
Here's a thought - have Noveria involved in research on the Leviathan, and make Giana Parasini a major part of the Levithan DLC. Corporal Toombs story could be closed with the Omega DLC, since to me it would seem natural for his group of mercs to be interested in taking down Cerberus' hold on Omega.

Successfully closing their stories would, ideally, also add them as war assets! At least that's how I see it.
@Ushanka: I think Liara's difficulity in doing her job comes more from the fact that all of her Shadow Broker resources are tied up in dealing with the Reapers: Finding info on the Reapers, finding a way to defeat the Reapers, helping the galaxy fight the Reapers, etc...
As a result, regular intelligence gathering suffers, and Liara misses things that the old Shadow Broker might have picked up on. I suspect that, after the Reaper war, Liara will do just as well as the old Shadow Broker if she decides to focus on her job.
To move this on topic: I would have liked to see a conversation between Ash and Liara about Liara's role as the Shadow Broker. The SB has to do some morally ambiguous things - I think Ash might question that to an extent, and press Liara as to whether this is really the role she wants for her life.

I don't agree with, Data.
You (man or woman) shouldn't feel the need to shamelessly flirt with another guy if you're in a happy and stable relationship. And if you're making comparisons... You should only be comparing your guy with the guy across the street, and stating all the reasons why that guy across the street doesn't match up to the guy you love back home.
kekeke?
Not shameless flirting. More light flirting and shameless tattle
Hell, I can do that with my best buddy and every girl I consider as a friend - but can't do it with my own GF ...

Really... I don't want to dislike Liara as a character. It just annoys me that she seems to get more attention from the writers.

I guarantee Shepard wouldn't be able to do it with Ashley.
If the woman you love is sitting right beside you, and you say, "Oh, check her out. She's one fine bird." to the hot girl with the firm ass ordering at the till.
That’'s like a big hurtful slap in the face especially when the other person loves you. And if it was meant to be a joke - it ain't funny, and it really says something, I find.

It's not Liara that makes me sad, it's the lack of content for Ashley.
I simply want a VS-centered DLC. Something we already had asked for ME2.

Ashley - another word for BIG EMOTIONS.
And sexy timez.
@ MBE:
Well I know several of those girls.
They're all taken and not interested in me. They do exist, however.
