Just swinging by to voice some support for everyone's favorite Alliance marine, since I don't think I've done that since ME3 came out. Hope all's well, fellow Ash-fans. Hold the line!
Edit: DWH! Hi!!How's life??
Holy crap, Batlass!
I'm okay. Still in the D.C. area. Did another Hill internship the last half of 2011, then since January I've mostly been doing temp work so I don't go broke. Things are looking up a little, though - I managed to set up a really good job as a temporary Legislative Correspondent for a U.S. Senator. Basically filling in for a staff member who's out on maternity leave starting next week and lasting until mid-October. Really looking forward to it, since it's a chance to hold an actual staff position as opposed to an internship.
How about yourself? Are you still in law school? I can't remember how much time you had left.

Loyal romance - After the Citadel date, we get a bonus scene where Ashley is staring out the window, Shepard hugs her from behind and they have a brief chat about some subject or another where Shepard in his usual blunt/corny fashion asks her to move up to his cabin. She playfully remarks about needing some 'convincing' which Shepard happily ablidges. Maybe even have that 'what was the otherside like' conversation that got cut from development as pillow talk afterwards.
Afterwards, she's moved up to the loft and is working at the second smaller desk next to Shepard's lounge chair. There, we'll have some ambient dialogue going on and maybe Ashley'll wonder around the cabin. Either lying down on the lounge or sitting comfortably on the bed. Shepard'll have the option of joining her for brief conversations/makeout/lovemaking.
In the pre-earth romance scene, Shepard'll wonder into his cabin looking the most rundown he has all game and goes immediately to work, ignoring Ash's presense in the room. She approaches him, gives the standard peptalk similar to what we have now. Saying yes - Shepard and Ash make love, saying no - Ashley accepts but pulls you to the bed and encourages you to rest.
At least that's how it'd work if I was doing it.
I like this dynamic for a loyal romance.
Another factor we have to consider is a Shepard who stays loyal in ME2, but for some reason fools around with Allers, or even Chambers, in ME3, since you can do that with either of them.
There should at least be subtle differences in how Shepard acts towards her. I understand (though I'm not sure) if you do that currently, Shepard just says "Ash" instead of telling her that he loves her.
I honestly don't think I could bring myself to fool around with either of those two, though. With Allers, it just seems odd, given that Shepard stayed loyal when presented with potential partners who were, frankly, more compelling than Allers in ME2. And even if I could get Chambers to show up (I can't, since I never have dinner with her) sleeping with her then moving on seems like one of the most piggish things Shepard can do, given that she has PTSD and Shepard has to profess interest in a future together to get her in bed.
