Bioware's said the faithful for all ME1 romances will be rewarded that's both VS's and Liara so there is a reward for having Ashley as your romance in ME1 and 3. There's no reason for them to push the games relase date to the next year just to neglect the very thing they said they were going to improve upon.

That is what I am most afraid of.

If that happens I am done with Bioware.

I didn't romance Ash in ME1 and stayed faithfull to her in ME2 to do it all over again in ME3. We should be able to continue the relationship that we have already built with Ash.

They can make a seperate romance path for the newbies (even though I don't like the idea for newbies to romance her in ME3. They should buy ME1 and 2 and start from the beginning if they want to be with Ash) but we have been here from the beginning. We don't deserve a kick in the gut like that. Aren't we entitled to continue our relationship with Ash? In my opinion we are entitled to continue it and not redo it all over again because of some newbies who don't even know who she is and who are going to date her solely for her new looks. That would be unfair.

We deserve better.

 You're cutting down the numbers of the fan base by saying "you just got here so no romance for you". There are some people ho have shepard's who wer by the book Alliance Soldiers meaning no fraternization, mutineers or not. so why should they be punished for playing by the rules eh?

Yes there SHOULD be different romance paths for a new romance and a faithful romance, I believe there ill be since relationships of all kinds are going to be way deeper than they were in ME2. Plus people who started with ME2 (like the PS3 players) aren't even familiar with her since they didn't get a combo pack of ME1 and ME2 just some lame comic that doesn't really capture Ash and calls Kaidan, a 32 year old man, and good kid. *facepalm* So ME3 is their first real chance to get Ashley for real and not just as some check mark.

I'm all with you. They should get a tottaly different dialouge, and a whole different scene.

I don't have a Ashley romance as of yet but it would be fitting that the Kaidan/Ashley (Ash for the sake of this thread) get their own DLC mission not only to make the romances equal with Liara, but also see how they use their SPECTER privalges compared to Shepard I would by that DLC the moment it's released

I diagree.

Having no independent romance to start up with Ashley in Mass Effect 3 does not restrict new players from romancing her. Genesis and its equivalent in ME3 are perfectly valid avenues if you want a romance with Ashley in ME3 without having to play the first game.

New players aren't denied this content. In acuality; it's easier for them to achieve than it is for people who started in ME1. If the concern is players picking the romance option not caring about Ashley, my question is then why would they have picked her in the first place?

At any rate, is it really necessary to have a romance for people to like her character? If they really like her character, then they will be far more likely to either go back and pick Ashley in Genesis 2.0 or go back to ME1 and romance her for a three-game import.

Having romance content exclusive to imports and such in no way restricts new players liking or romancing Ashley.

@Elektrego- Yes quite sneaky indeed! Though I'm sure they'd find something for Ash to wear

@Indigo- that's what I want.I'm surprised that people have no problem with someone having a comic that say "oh yeah I romane dher eventhough I didn't play the game, rather than an all new romance since that would, in theory, cheapen the "faithful" aspect. Not complaining, just making an observation, I'm just completely against the "you started the franchise at ME3 so yo don't get to romance X charater."

@Ieldra- yeah we don't want catfights over Shepard. She's already mary sue enough without love interests fighting for her love. LI's didn't fight when being pursued in 1 or 2 so why start now? It should just be a "who's it going to be Shepard?" thing at most.

a convo me and a friend had when I started telling her about mass effect:

Me: one of my fave characters is Ashley, she's the soldier you get in the first mission of one.
Friend: So she's the one you're always goingon about?
Me: yeah.
Friend: okay so tell me about her.
Me: Well she's funny, has great convo's believes in god (not sure which cuz she doens't get specific) and she's wary of aliens because they could turn their backs on us when we need it.
Friend: okay, what doe she do in combat.
Me: She has assualt rifles, shotguns, pistols and sniper rifles. and if you make her sniper right she can bounce enemies with one shot.
Friend:......I need to play this game don't I?
Me: yes you do.

@Cypher I think you nailed MShep! There were a few Ash lines that somehow didn't click with my idea of Ash, but other than that it was a lovely story! Shep knows dutch, nice, even if he's not very good at it, LoL (I'm Dutch)

Nah, my Shep doesn't do poetry. I think in ME3 he'll just go all out and play her a song on a great white piano, confessing his never-ending love oh so cheese-ly. She'll like that.
