Thank you. Feel free to use mine, if need be

Over in the Miranda thread, we've discussed that a lot. The majority of us expected one of those to be her father's last name and we felt that his last name being "Lawson" was a slap in the face from the writers.DWH1982 wrote...
I just have to shake my head at how they resolved the thing with Miranda's father, as well. We get to interact with him for what - a minute? Unless I'm mistaken, we never even find out which business he runs.
Kinda dumb that they made his last name Lawson, as well. Miranda would have changed her last name when she ran away and joined Cerberus. Based on the SB profile on Miranda, I honestly expected her father's last name to be either "Eldfell" or "Ashland."
Since we never get canon info on Henry Lawson's business, I just head canon him as a "silent" partner with Eldfell and Ashland. So he's still a bigwig at Eldfell-Ashland Energy.
Anyway, none of that is related to Ash, I guess, except that it's another way the characters got shorted, like them not giving us any real info on what Ash was involved with between ME1 and ME3. Was hoping that they'd establish Ash and her unit as investigating the Reapers for the Alliance and Anderson, so we could throw it back at people who say that Ash wasn't doing anything to help out.

I think whole ME3 is wasted opportunity.
I could quote Lennon, who sang "Waste of money" instead of "Taste of honey".

Of course. The guy I want to jack up Shepard would no longer be in his prime, but was one of the first recipients of the award in his early days. Like Shepard, he was a hero.
I still can't imagine those two fighting. bioware dropped enough balls to flood all oceans, I think there won't be conflict. Heart-to-heart talk more likely. Yeah, I imagine how Shepard in Cerberus armour, with EDI and someone like Javik would look in VS eyes, even made motivational on that, but I think there should be no way to shoot VS. It's just cheap and stupid.
And yes, I'm fully aware of open animosity even between comrades in arms, even when they follow different paths and it's not career related. Maybe because I'm ****ing tired of that I don't want to see it.

The wiki is so confusing. It sounds like she was PG for her platoon in the 212, but its only speculation.
I had impressions she was PG at Basic.

About what you were saying about NCM's...I can agree with that, I just haven't been in for that long of time. And, the one thing I loved about Halo was that the hero, Master Chief, was a NCO.
Exactly. I think there is a little "list" toward officers. About 135 degree list.

Potatoes were delicacy "back on Earth". Cabbages, 40 y.o. canned food, kashas, I think that's how you westerners call it.

Made Queen (that's band) day today and some song caught my attention: don't you think that "Killer queen" could fit, say, Liara (should they give her a bit more attention to details) and "You my best friend" is pretty obvious

It was certainly a wasted opportunity, but I guess I'm one of the few that liked that it was a different place. I always found it a little weird that before ME3 every planet you came across was a one-and-done experience. They're planets, for crap's sake. They're huge. There's usually more than one city or one square mile of terrain to explore. In that regard it was nice to see some variety on Tuchanka and Rannoch.DWH1982 wrote...

I'm talking in the VS DLC thread about the need to use the DLC to explore what the VS did between ME1 and ME3. And it just now it hit me - we should have gotten that chance on Horizon.
When I went down to Horizon, I wasn't expecting to land at Sanctuary. I was expecting to land at the colony from ME2, to get the chance to interact with the locals, find out about their recovery from the Collector Attack, ask them about Sanctuary (their opinion, odd happenings, etc), see if any of the colonists remember Ash, and maybe interact with Ash about her time on Horizon and her history in the Alliance. After exploring the main colony, I expected to get into a vehcile and transit to Sanctuary - perhaps after it's unlocked by accomplishing something at the main colony.
Instead it cut straight to Sanctuary, so it could resolve the story arc with Miranda's father in perhaps the briefest and most dissipointing way possible.
I didn't find the Horizon colony terribly interesting. You've seen one collection of prefabs, a la Prothean DLC and several N7 Cerberus missions, you've seen 'em all. I was more interested in Feros because that place was built on Prothean ruins so at least it had some awesome architecture, but that's only if you managed to save the colony anyway.
I would have really liked to see a return of vehicles. The Hammerhead from the Firewalker DLC in ME2 was perfectly fine, I wish it'd made the crossover to the Alliance'd Normandy SR-2. Garrus and Ashley's banter about Shepard's terrible ME1 driving could have been priceless. It's a shame the VS wasn't around during the ME3 Tuchanka business, because Ash and Kaidan might have had strong opinions about the Krogan after what Saren tried to do. But... only if you had an ME1 save.. GAH. I so badly wanted to be rewarded for my loyalty but everything got so lowest-common-denominator'd to woo New Fans. I have Old Fan money, dammit.

It's a trilogy. You shouldn't jump into the third part of a trilogy and expect to know what's going on.

I really don't think even Shepard could survive reentry into Earth. Really do think he (or she, I guess) is in some ruins on the Citadel.

His brain was okay, and Cerberus had access to the restoration beam from the pandorica.

Their sacrafice in ensuring that Shepard and Ash can be together is appreciated.
Also, there's the fact that destroy actually gets rid of the godd*mn Reapers. That's the gravy.

For the record, every single geth, at some point, sided with the reapers. They had their reasons and whatnot I'm sure, but they did, so it's not like they're total innocents...

They are innocents. They were ambushed by the Quarians, their creators, who were attempting the genocide for the second time through war. The Reapers offere tohelp them survive and they accepted and they were granted upgrades to have the upper hand on the quarians and they did. They did what they did to survive, they gained a survival instinct.krukow wrote...
