I would have liked James to make some comments to Shepard about finding Ashley hot without knowing about Shepard and her then Shepard could tell him to back off in a renegade way or else just tell James about the two of them in a paragon way but done much better than I've just said. Could have been funny

I am trained in using the German MG42 which weight is about 12 kilos. And that thing gets heavy really fast when walking aroung with it...
MG42 or MG3? IIRC you should be quote old to use 42...
I stormed the beaches in Normandy!
But your right. It is the MG3, that i was schooled in when I was in the army at age 19. It´s just that we don´t call it the MG3 here in Denmark. Here it´s still known as LMG42 or it´s full name "Let maskine gevær 42"...

Rudy: some stuff doesn't need to get mentioned.
Oh really? I think opposite. It's not that hard, just several words.
CptData wrote...
Keep in mind, that armor itself is quite heavy already, it would be insane to use it without any strength enhancing systems. Shepard can run forever without using up any stamina - I bet that armor is supporting him with a lot of drugs and, as said before, some servo motors. It makes sense - especially since that technology is already known in our days.
First. Shepard couldn't run forever before ME3. One of many redesigned elements. "Just for fluid and agressive gameplay". Or whatever nonsense they spew on us.
Second. Only one armour is refered as heavy, other are not. And if modern armour systems weighing about 15 kg could be worn without servos, I think it is possible to wear properly aligned and fitting armour suit in future without being cumbersome.
Third. Drugs? Ah, now I see, three colours ending, hallucinogenic boys...
Folks! There was no Reaper war, it was
Case closed, we going home!
CptData wrote...
In ME2 it was explained Shepard got cybernetics to use the Widow and the only other one using it was Legion.
Can you provide links to info on cybernetics for Widow? Not because I do not believe you, I just don't remember that.
CptData wrote...
However, it was not caused by the weight but the brutal recoil.
And all that recoil/weight/power ratio is one big question. Especially between different weapon classes.
CptData wrote...
So in short, I believe the armor supports its user's strength, even if it's not stated anywhere. Otherwise, NO one can carry a 30kg gun.
Anti-tank rifle? Disassembled heavy weapons systems, like ATGM, Mortar, MANPADS? Not to mention your armour, plus water, food, ammo and other stuff you carry in backpack, in case your supply lines got ****ed and all you got is what you have. Joints problems? As easy as dreaming. But no one gives a **** - helicopters are expensive, ground vehicles have limitations and soldiers... well, they cheap.
Plus, you do not fire AMR from standing or running.
CptData wrote...
Or a total weight of 160kg, not for an extended period of time. Not to speak of running. So I think the armor is the key.
And I think it's design overthought. One of many.

Rudy, I wanted to remind about The Crimean War.
I figured that out.

But how Shepard's health recovered on Earth, at the beginning? He was without armor there.

.. apparently Ash ends up with James if you don't romance her.... O.O
I know I said I didn't mind it, but right now if he was making a move on a Romanced Ash I'm really wishing that there was a banter telling him to f*** off.
Oh yeah? Where'd you hear this from?
I always thought the maturity level was too different, and it's clear James is a free bird not looking to settle down, whereas Ash is kinda broken in ME3.
As for the maturity level... it's sort of like Ashley and Kaidan in ME1. However, in ME3 I could see Ash and Kaidan being a good couple. Too bad neither of them would ever break protocol with each other while on duty. Ash has a pole up her ass about that sort of stuff.
Also, welcome new guy!

Soldier: Oh my god! Holy crap!
Engineer: What, what's 'Oh my god, holy crap'?
Medic: Is... is that Ashley Williams? The Lieuie Commander from the Reaper war.
Engineer: She's a Major now. Her family got blacklisted a few gens back, but she dragged it from the mud and put it right up there with Vakarian, Anderson and Shepard again. Didn't you hear?
Medic: No, I hadn't. And whose that guy with her?
Engineer: Not a single clue? But with that N7 stripe - he's gotta be a badass.
Soldier: *staring blankly at them both.* You're kidding, right? You seriously have to be deaf, blind and stupid not to know who he is.
Medic: Well, then go on! Mister know-it-all.
Engineer: Come on, tell us.
Soldier: That's Admiral John W. Shepard! The man who single handedly destroy the Reapers a decade ago! He runs the entire N7 division and co-admins the SpecTRes with the Major!
Medic: Holy -!
Engineer: Sh!t!
Soldier: Yeah! He's practically a living god. Both of them are. If they show up, you know sh!t's about to get real!
Engineer: ... wow... he's kind of hot.
Medic: He's kind of married.
Engineer: To whom!?
Soldier: Williams. They tied the knot about six months after the way, few weeks after the Normandy was discovered.
Engineer: Lucky b*tch.
Medic: And you're kind of married too.
Engineer: Girl can dream. F*ck I hate Williams now.
Ashley: Heh, listen to all the rookies. They're practically wetting themselves.
Shepard: I know. They're so cute. But I don't know about being a 'god'. I think my ego is big enough.
Ashley: I have to agree, but behind closed doors however, *whistles appreciatively* that's a different story.
Shepard: Thank you. I prefer to think of it differently though.
Ashley: Oh yeah?
Shepard: Yeah, something Kat said. 'Paragon on the street, renegade in the sheets'.
Ashley: *roflmao* You - are terrible, You and your sister, both.
Shepard: I knew you'd get a kick out of that.
I can't handle this...
Seriously... awesome job.

I imagine that Shepard would take her name, but as a hyphen/middle name. Keeping his original obviously, but taking hers on too.
Yeah. If you aren't romancing her, apparently Ash ends up with James. Kind of makes sense, I always saw James as a 'younger Shepard' before all the N7 conditioning hardened him up (seriously, I read up on the training. It's f*cking gruelling! People are lucky to survive the first course!).

Exactly! Except the chocolate factory got burnt down.

I'd rather have some of this candy! (bad joke lol). I don't think Shepard minds letting Ashley take the lead...
@Aurora; What do mean 'apparently' where's the proof? Is there something I don't know about?

Shepard would never change his name and include Williams in it! Maybe I'm just coming at this from a British point of view were most females take on their husbands name and there is not alot of the double-barrel names but if they get married it'll be Mr and Mrs John Shepard...in my humble opinion and head cannon
Yeah, it's cuz your British *pats back* Stuck in your ways...
I honestly don't think Ash would give up her own name when she marries. She's a Williams till the end.

@Dannycni.
That's why I said 'taking her name, too'. My Shepard is keeping his name for very sentimental reasons (belonged to someone he ever admired. He took it after they died.), as well as being a name to run away from really very fast. And a generally all around badass name.
I'd say Ash'll take up the name, and yeah, As suggested her intials become Ashley M. S. Williams

The treatment of names seems to be at times very different in the UK compared with America.
Not that'd it matter in this pic:

Are you talking about that e-mail about a 'James' that's on the wiki?
DA - just fans. Ain't offical.
I never got the impression that they would ever be a couple. James gave Ash a bottle of booze they drank, he left, then she got even more drunk because she was moping over her brother-in-law and probably the war. Marines look out for their own.
After the war, James will leave, go off and be an N7. There's a good chance of him dying, but that's why I like James. He's badass, and in a way I'm glad he isn't looking for love (poor femshep) because he doesn't have any plans to be held down. He's a bit like younger Shepard in that way.
Heartbroken Ashley because Danny likes it:

I'm Aussie. But I'm not f*ckin' givin' up the name 'Williams' for any man! Don't care how much I love them. It's a badass name, and I'm effing keeping it!
Oh yeah, and James'll be lucky to survive the N1 course. 20 hours constant combat a day with very little food or sleep. For an undetermined period of time.
