Damn and blast it. I am currently in yet another long, heated debate about Ashley being a racist with one of my friends. No matter what I say all he replies with is 'Meh, she's still racist' and that makes me want to yell! I am still the only one of about a dozen people I know who have played Mass Effect and actually liked Ashley, no one will listen to reason!!!

and you treat Ashley like she's a sex doll. "She should wear a helmet in case Shepard gets eezo on her face". Way to treat her like the respectable woman she's become thanks to her hard work and dedicatio the to Alliance.

And if she is, what's the problem? She is good to all humans. That's more xenophobia, than racism. Because race - it's inside of the species. I don't know why they call aliens by "other races".

In the end, it always comes back to that bugged Keeper line.

"I can't tell the aliens from the animals." was supposed to trigger when Shepard clicked on the Keeper near the conduit.

But notice how she only says it around that area. Close to that Keeper.

Let's just say it's true, about Ashley being xenophobic, then why is she in the cargo room with Garrus and Wrex? Why is she onboard the Normandy? Why isn't she just telling Shepard "I'm not going to join you because you've got aliens onboard"?
She's just curious if it's ok with Shepard if Wrex and Garrus can go where they want inside the Normandy. That's how I see it and for me she's not xenophobic at all. It's just something Ashley haters made up.

I'm almost done with another ME1 playthrough, and was reminded of two specific arguments against Ash being racist.

1- After killing Benezia, Ash feels sympathy for Liara, and suggests Shepard should go talk to her. She wouldn't do that if she saw Liara as a dumb alien.

2- Random elevator conversation with Tali: Ash expresses concern that the geth attack on Eden Prime would create resentment against the quarians. Then voices her hope that having Tali on the team going after Saren will cast her people in a better light.

Just dare/bet somebody to do one full playthough with her, and afterwards tell you with a straight face they still think she's racist. They won't be able to. Unless they have a serious case of denial

In my game she said it in some random places at the presidium.

Yea DWH they don't want to hear it. I think the worst thing is that we have a perfectly good arguement against why she isn't racist and can prbably end any stupid insults they want to throw out but they just don't want to hear it and if they are losing the arguement all they have to say is 'she's still racist' and they stop listening to what you say. At least that seems to be my experience with my friends.

 Yesss. I finally got off of work early and I can particpate in some Ash discussion. 
Anyway, does anyone else love the moment on Mars with Ashley, when Shepard says something along the lines of "I have to keep going or I'll lose everything" and he looks at Ashley while he says it? I don't remember the exact quote, but it was when he was talling to Liara. And Ashley turns around like "wait what?' 

One of my favorite moments in ME3 with Ashley.
