Ashley refused for moral reasons. Tali refused so she could help her father with illegal experiments on the geth.
Tali only comes in the second game when you save her life.

Tali only joins you in the third game if you (AGAIN) come and bail her people out of their geth problems. Ashley saves your life and then joins you.

Pretty much. Most people don't realize this, though. They drag Ash down because she got angry, then never showed up the rest of the game to redeem herself. In all honestly if I was in Ash's position on Horizon I would have acted a lot worst lol

I never understood the fan-gasm over Tali here. Sure, she's cute and kind, but that's exactly why she doesn't appeal to my Shepard. He's a grown man. There was no attraction or interest there in ME1. She's little sister-material, not girlfriend/partner. From my Shepard's POV, she is always going to be that young girl he saved in the wards, and she'll always be a little sister to him (and Ash). He even sees Liara as older.

Even if my Shepard did love Tali, he wouldn't risk her health for sex, because IMO that's not very caring (lol). And a plain stupid act for COMMANDER Shepard and Tali to decide to do when their heading into a suicide mission. Every needs to be at their best.

I try to think of my Shepard as a capable Commander before anything, not somebody who's first thought is to pursue romantic relations with the women in his crew. In my headcanon, Shepard's never once did it before Ilos.

Us faithful folks should have got rewarded for staying true to Ash. Those players that decided that Ash wasn't what they wanted in ME2 -- they went off and banged another chick inside the couple of months after Horizon (Shepard clearly wasn't thinking about Ash then, when he was banging whoever). I think those that cheated should still be allowed to work things out with Ash, but it shouldn't be able to compete with the faithful romance.

That's better than Miranda's scenes, they're even shorter. I didn't even continue my second Shepard that romanced her because of how poorly treated it was.

Well, I'm back debating on youtube again. Trying to convince this guy that Ash isn't racist or.. something. I think I'm wasting my time on this one, the poster isn't even aware that James Vega is Spanish. And apparently Ash must have a problem with aliens because she's a christian. This guy knows it all! Even the stuff that the Wiki doesn't.

How do you guys just ignore this ignorance? :L

oh frack me. I've seen stuff like that before. That is just unbelievable facepalm stupidity and doesn't really deserve your attention. It just shows human ignorance and arrogance at its finest.

That is why I hate debating on youtube. I try to get away, but they all ways pull me back in.  I'm also kind of in a debate with some guy on youtube (the unique Ash/Shep talk on Horizon). He's a loyal Tali worshiper and doesn't understand why Ash would react that way on Horizon, like she is illogical and what not. I am going to take a week or two off debating him, and then just show up out of the blue with my comeback...that is how much I hate debating on the utube.

Being cautious about people you don't know is normal, you wouldnt let a random person in your house regardless of race it's because you dont know them; that doesn't make you racist.

Ok bear in mind with Liara's scene being umm...longer, is the fact that she isn't human. Her non human status allows EA/Bioware to kinda skirt controversy.

I would think that adding an Ashley scene with her having a "nude model" would be kinda skirting the ESRB (granted Witcher 2 goes basically all out) and any controversy. It may come down to the programmers being uncomfortable with programming a "nude skin" for Ashley or any other human character.

That being said, it technically could be possible to mod Liara's scene to have Ashley's body. I know on Deviant Art someone modded Ashley to have Miranda's body and face and created psedu-romantic scene (granted it was screenshot). Give it a year or so and someone is likely to mod in a more "fuller" scene for Ashley.

Now I feel so dirty...

Anyway, it's not just Liara who got the longer scene. Both Kaidan and Liara do. They both also have another dialogue branch in their love scenes, and Kaidan has one in the docking bay. There's probably more, but I can't remember right now.

I wish I could investigate more with Ash... and.... ask her WTF she's being doing these past three years.
