Well, the other half of the "VS fandom" saves Kaidan, so ... I'd say, keep the gun in your holster.

I consider Kaidanmancers as the "sibling fandom" to us and I like the peace we have. After all, we both suffer bad/missing content in ME3 and had go through a lot of sh*t to keep Ash or Kaidan alive.

Oh I know, I do try to be friendly with the Kaidenmancers.  They're nice people.  I just like to joke.

And yeah, the VS is just slightly less killable than poor Kelly (who has literally 3 ways to die over 2 games, 4 if you assume the worst about the citadel at the end, plus she dissappears if you don't eat dinner with her).

Example, thing is about the movie, I would only be interested if Shepard is in it but everyone has their own Shepard and who their LI is so everyone will have some sort of complaint (except male Liara loving fans). I want the ME movie to have Shepard with Ash (obviously) as LI even if she isn't the LI I really want to see Ash on the big screen, but again the problem is she is likely to get killed at Virmire.

If there is a film though I want Shepard...but I could live with it focusing on Anderson

I think if they wanted to make an ME movie, they should just change certain things. Don't kill Kaidan or Ash on Virmire. Let them both go on the suicide mission. Do things you can't do in the game, that way there's no chance that it's supposed to be a "canon shepard", but they can still bring the same characters and themes to the big screen.

Also, decide on a theme for the series before you start shooting.

Don't worry. Ash will be LI in the movie.  Liara might cause a rift for a few scenes, but after Shep begins agnsting over killing Kaidan he'll move on to Ash for good. You have to remember that BW is not writing this movie.  Hollywood is writing this movie. Ash will be the LI, 100% guaranteed.

I wouldn't even be suprised to see them move onto a love triangle with Miranda and Ash at some point, just like team Edward/Jacob or Gale/whatever his name is (Hunger Games).

But yeah, you need a hot girl to put on your poster to attract the movie going audience.  Even avatar had to give the girl human hair and specifically designed features (watch RLM's breakdown of her design).

I wouldn't put my life on that one.
If Rodriguez acts as Ashley, she's going to die on Virmire (if they stay close to the original plot). If not, Ash may live, however, the human-alien-romance might be thrown into the game since it's sexy.

I don't know, I think they learned that ME fanbase is very passionate and easily pissed off so they'll approach movie carefully. Maybe won't even include any romantic scenes but rather give 'hints' with every character. That way fans could 'speculate' (you know they love that) on who the LI is and imagine that it's theirs.

Doubtful. It's a sci-fi movie at the end of the day. Bioware is writing the plot around the characters and their motivations. That alone, says it won't happen. Ash doesn't care if she lives or dies, and Liara is completely smitten with Shepard (either gender) either way. The hero won't come off as the jerk who turned her down and broke her heart. Liara will be the love interest in the movie.

There is no reason for Ashley to live past Virmire unless she is the love interest. I'm expecting her to go out in a blaze of glory, redeeming her family name on Virmire. That's what BW will do to make Virmire sting less for everyone involved -- they'll paint her the hero. Too bad it won't work.

My short comments on the (maybe) Mass Effect movie.

You can not do a 80+ hours story justice with a 2 hour long movie. It´s gonna be a shallow experince and more dumbed down then the RPG elements in ME2.

And for me personally. I am so attached to Femshep, that if there is no Hale, then there is no interrest from me. And hearing Ashley talk without Kimberly´s voice would also just be plain weird.

Okay, thats it. It is almost 1.30 in the middel of the night here in DK, and my eyes are itching. Im going to bed. See you guys tommorw...

Well Dragon_Claw I can't see it being a femshep. If it is I won't be going to see it (not from a sexist point of view but I don't play as one so it'd be far too weird for me personally). Plus I think they can totally make a movie work without dumbing down your game experience, I highly doubt they ever planned to quash 80+ hours into a 2 hour film.

Ash speaking without KBs voice would be weird at first but it wouldn't put me off and you have to let some things go in this sort of situation cause Ashley Williams isn't real so you aren't going to get someone with exactly the same looks and voice, and that goes for evey character. I wouldn't judge it on the basis of who the actors and actresses are.

BP, I'd be inclined to agree so as to not have to sit through 2 hours of heart break or leaving after the first hour when Ash is dead on Virmire. (Btw in saying this I am very excited about Assassins Creed film, but that's off topic so I apologise)
