[Time Laspe]

 @ Example - I hate the casual clothing in the ME universe. So ugly .  In my head canon,  everyone dresses like it's 2012.

Well, I don't mind Shepard's clothing since he's in the Alliance, but yeah. They've all got a horrible taste in clothing in that year, especially those Salarian suits on the Presidium in ME1. The humans look like scientists. Maybe it's better if we didn't have the whole Williams family appear in ME3. I guess they all would have been wearing those outfits with different colours, and that would just look strange. Now the rest of the Williams family can be pretty much headcanoned, their looks, attitude ect.

Yeah, seems that way. Sarah looks like she was created inside 4 minutes. But at least they gave her blue eyes. Ash's grandfather (and I'm assuming father) had blue eyes and fairer skin. I guess Ash got her dark features from her mother. Probably her hot attitude too.

But Ash got the small budget, remember? Soo.... yup. That means Sarah as well.

Well I figured it would take a couple of days to repair the Normandy and get her space-worthy again without EDI. Then another day to double-check everything before taking off.

We don't even know what planet they crash on, but it's not the Sol system. They managed to hit the relay, so who knows what system they're in. I guess the player can imagine that it's a nearby one. That way, things don't look so dire and the Shepley reunion will happen a lot sooner.

THey never hit the relay according to Patrick Weekes at PAX and Jessica Merizan's twitter (I'm going to bed so I don't have links but it was way back right before PAX East), but they obviously did hit FTL.  So while they may be in some other system, the amount of time it took them to get there is probaby roughly the amount of time it would take them to get back.  So..... half an hour tops.  But yeah I think it would take at least 24 hours to get the Normandy ready to go again once they "crashed."

Even if they did - the Normandy couldn't go any farther than maybe 100, 200 lightyears - at maximum - and only given the fact they were able to do a second jump from Arcturus to the next system. Arcturus is only 36 ly away from Earth ...
So I assume the planet is not that far away - other clusters have +200 ly diameter around a Relay. Thanks to the FTL drive, the Normandy can do it.
However, if the Normandy only used FTL, there's a certain chance the shockwave "kicked" the Normandy, increasing distance to Earth by a lot. It could take more time to return than it took to reach that planet. That "kick" worked a bit like a Mass Relay would do - reducing Mass, increasing speed. The effect died off rather quickly, limiting the distance the Normandy could travel. Again: 100 - 200 lightyears, not much more.


My own idea tells me, the Normandy is going to return to Earth within a month. It takes approx a week or two to fix most damage done by the crash and re-start some basic functions of EDI. Maybe they use some kind of backup VI to get most calculations done. Joker is a fine pilot, but doesn't mean he can do everything alone.

A month, however, isn't that much time at all. ME1 spanned half a year, ME2 also spanned a couple of months and ME3 feels as if it takes years, but Anderson tells you about a couple of weeks - which means ME3 couldn't take much longer than ME3.

Also that month is needed to allow Shepard to recover back to a state he's conscious again.

Perfect time for Ashley to return, in my eyes.

Hahaha. I know right!! It looks ridiculous. I understand they wanted to show that styles and fashions have changed in 100+ years but geez. Do all the humans work in a lab or something? Ashley would never wear that.

Not that I'm complaing. She's got the same face, but badly needed an upgrade. I just wish they put as much effort into the rest of her. Her arc in ME3 is basically: "Cerberus, Cerberus, Cerberus, Cerberus GUN! ...... DRUNK. NOTHING ELSE."

@ Examp1e - Oh yea, They definitely needed to work on her character arc in ME3 I can't agree more. I'm currently replaying ME1 and Ashley is absolutely hilarious!! My favorite quotes from her in ME1:

Feros: "This is looks like a nice place to visit. but I wouldn't want to live here; scratch that, I wouldn't want to visit."

Noveria: "Better not lick any poles."

I've heard it mentioned so many god damn times - Ashley isn’t even a racist, but yet she gets titled just that by more than half the fan base incorrectly. There are characters who ARE racist extreme or otherwise. Javik, Grunt, Wrex, Tali ect. If players don't like Ash - fine call her a ****, but the whole “Space ****, racist thing” really pisses me off at times because it's such an offensive title to label on someone when it's WRONG.

Sad thing is, we cannot have a topic about Ash without some simpleton coming in and bringing it up.

And yeah, I probably went a bit overboard on it. But it's so messed up when someone just comes in and doesn't bother writing a worthy opinion, they just say:  "Ash is a racist b*tch." then leave, and that's that. What are they 12? Smh. BSN ain't ever gonna change.

And I've decided I want some pancakes. I blame this thread.

My headcanoned EB Shepard practically lives in his N7 hoodie. When it's not availible, he sticks to a black version of the Alliance casual wear. Off-Duty, if his hoodie is in the wash... or Ashley has accomidated it because her blue, gold and silver one is in the wash (or she just wants to play around and get his attention.), he'll stick with black clothing with red and white trim....


Or if he wants to shake things up, he'll find a dark brown treachcoat and go around calling himself a 'browncoat'...

Yeah... without exception, all my Shepards are Dantes Inferno and Firefly fans.

I liked Shepard's Alliance fatigues in 3. I didn't much like the brig clothes, and I spent most of my time wearing the hoodie, but I still liked them. His jeans and jacket, I liked but never wore, his other 'casual' outfit I wore in 2 as a protest to Cerberus's poor colour choices (dislike the black, white and gold scheme).
