*Ash walks into Shepard’s cabin*
Ashley: Hey. Good morning.
Shepard: *moving about quickly, getting dressed* Hey… No time to talk now. Overslept. Running late, should have done the staff meeting an hour ago…
Ashley: You didn’t “oversleep.” I turned off your alarm clock. And I handled the staff meeting for you.
Shepard: *stops getting dressed* Wait, you turned it off? Ash, you shouldn’t have done that…
Ashley: No, I should have done it a long time ago. Shepard, you just… you look like hell right now. You haven’t been getting enough sleep, and you finally were sleeping this morning. Very soundly.
Shepard: Ash, it’s my job to run this ship, and fight this war. Everyone is looking to me
Ashley: It’s our job to fight the war. You have a crew for a reason. Shepard, I’m your XO. I’m perfectly capable of handling a few staff meetings. You, on the other hand, look like you’re about to fall apart, which isn’t good for any of us. Especially you.
Shepard: I need to keep an eye on things personally…
Ashley: And if you’re tired, you’re going to miss things. That’s a fact. And I’m telling you, you’re going to start getting more rest.
Shepard: *smirks* Oh. You’re “telling” me?
Ashley: Yes. And I’m also “telling” you that you’re going to start eating real meals again. Starting this morning. *Tosses a meal container on Shepard’s desk* Here, I brought you some of the breakfast that Vega made.
Shepard: “Sleep more, eat right.” Now you’re starting to sound like Dr. Chakwas…
Ashley: The doctor and I may have had a discussion. Oh, by the way – EDI has overridden the controls on your door. You won’t be able to open it until after you’ve had a nice, leisurely breakfast.
Shepard: This… This is nothing less than a mutiny. On my own ship! By my own ship!
Ashley: Call it what you want, but you finally got some rest. And now you’re actually going to eat something.
Shepard: Too bad Kaidan isn’t here. And Dr. Michel. They’d never mutiny on me.
Ashley: If they saw how you looked right now, they’d join our “mutiny” in a second. And don’t think about calling Garrus, Vega, or anyone else for help – they’re all on my side. Now get dressed, take your time eating your breakfast – and then maybe EDI will let you join us in the CIC.
Shepard: *grumbles* This is a travesty. An outrage. You know that, right?
Ashley: Love you too, Skipper.

Nice dialogue DWH. The woman cares. If Ashley can't help out Shepard no one can

That's yet another sort of scene that would have been a good one to have in the game. Shepard looking like hell, maybe just after Thessia, and then Ashley could have come in to the cabin or invited Shepard out somewhere on the Citadel and they could have had a chat about Ashley being worried about Shepard sort of like how Joker snaps at Shepard. But we could sit here all day and talk about scenes we'd have liked to see.

Personally, I think that after Thessia, Ashley wouldn't even leave his side. Hell on the transport ride back to the Normandy, he's looking like hell and she's probably going to be the one worrying about him while he's concerned for Liara.

Yea I saw a few of those photos with Ash and Kaidan in the EC and I really wish it were so. It does sort of annoy me that I'll never have a full Kaidan experience because I'll always save Ashley. Even if I saved Kaidan it'd probably annoy me too much that he gets so much more in 3 so it'd be a lose lose situation.

Yeah, I always save Ash too. I wish we could have both Ash & Kaidan. I started the trilogy with them and I'd like to be able to end it with them as well.

I'm gonna pull it off with Duet Effect. Believe it or not. The whole reason WHY I have two Shepards running at once is because I want to save them both. That's the WHOLE reason.

Well 99.9% of the reason. The other 0.1% is because I didn't want my EB shepard to be alone. To have a family member as skilled as him but on the opposite side of the morality spectrum, but still somehow manage to get along. Paragade v Renagon.

After Thessia, Shepard just needed a nice tall glass of Irish whiskey with some peace quiet. Then he'll talk it out with Ash.

Thats my headcanon anyway.

Well, after an entire bottle of Bushmill's, I don't know about Shepard, but I certainly wouldn't be in a talking mood. LOL

I'm pretty sure, in this war. EVERYONE on the Normandy, or at least the groundteam would need to attend AA meetings by the time its over. It's just that brutal.

"Hello, I'm Ashley Williams... and I'm an alcoholic."

"Hi, Ashley.."

AA meetings can be pretty fun actually if you've ever been.

I think Karin Chakwas is a bigger lush than Ash is. At least they'd have each other. Who would be their sponsor? Javik?

Well its pretty quiet in her, so I'd thought I'd post a little musing. It takes place 1.5 years post ME3 and it concerns Shepard's efforts to kickstart the galaxy into the reconstruction. Shepard and Ashley are on their way to broker a ceasefire between the Quarians and the Batarians as both sides face off over posession of the Geth fleet remains.

Takes place in the captain's cabin as Shepard tried to put his clothes on.

Please read, review and comment.

“You look like ****, skipper” Ashley told him, straight to him, her eyes gazing into Shepard’s tired face.

“I feel like it too” Shepard grumbled as he put his shirt on, barely concealing a hiss, as pain lanced up his right arm while he tried to put his arm through the sleeve.

A sigh escaped Ashley’s lips as she crossed around the bed to help him with his shirt. Moving behind him, she held the sleeve out for him and gently guided his arm into it.

Ever since the Crucible activated his implants had been firing off and on again for the past year and a half. Sometimes he could ignore the pain, push it aside from his conscious.Other times, it was worse. More than a few nights he would wake up in a sweat barely able to breathe, terrifed that he would alarm Ashley.

He tried to hide the symptoms from Ashley, though she always found out. Found the cache of pain medications he had stashed around the Normandy, found the borderline illegal stims he smuggled into his bag. But damn it, he needed to push himself, he needed to make sure everything was alright, needed to fix what he had broken, needed to…

“You’re got that look again skip” Ashley interrupted his train of thoughts. A concerned look crossed her face as she regarded him. Her arms came up from behind him and circled around his shoulders. Her lips brushed his neck and her warm breathe flowed against his hair.

For a second the troubles of a beaten and bruised galaxy slipped away from him. The Reaper’s legacy, the possibly insane Admiral Daro’Xen, the rumblings of war from the batarians, all slipped away. There was just him and Ash, alone and comfortable in the silence. God, he lived for these moments, an oasis of calm from the mind, boggling madness that seemed to take hold of the galaxy after the destruction of the Reapers…and of every other synthetic life-form.

“Just this last one” He whispered to her “Then we disappear, we bolt, we scram, whatever.”

A dry chuckle escaped her lips and Ashley whispered into his ear

“We both know that is a lie, skipper”

“Expected time of arrival is precisely thirty minutes” the cold voice of a VI flooded through the comm. speakers.

Shepard gave a little jump as the cold voice jolted him out of his peaceful reverie. Ashley smirked and then helped with the rest of his clothes and then suited herself up. A powerful Phalanx hand-canon rested on her hips as she put the final touches to her dress uniform.

Shepard raised an eyebrow as she checked the hidden shield generator strapped to her back.

“Expecting trouble, Lt. Commander?” he queried, mirth barely coming through.

“**** ordered a bombardment on the last ship we were on” Ashley replied, snapping the pistol into place and charging the heat-sink, “Figured I’d best be prepared for this one”

“I love you Ash”

“You too skipper"

Javik: In my cycle, intoxication was punishable by death.
Ash: Did the Protheans allow anything that was fun?
Javik: Staring contests. And public executions.

I don't think Javik would be a good sponsor. An enabler though.. yes. LOL

Hell, Liara is annoying enough in ME3, she'd be perfect. You know, just a "check up" call.. see "how you were doing".. that sort of thing. =P

Plus, she can kind of see what you're doing. All the time.

Yes, the Shadow Broker would make an excellent sponsor. Though you might have one of the broker's teams show up if you're thinking about taking a drink.

EDIT: @Survivor: That seems really good. Thanks for posting it.

I always enjoyed those drinking sessions with Dr. Chakwas. Especially in ME2, it felt nice to get to know her more and how she felt about things.

What still annoys me is that you can't get hammered on the Normandy. Woulda been nice to see a scene where Shepard's slumped over the bar, actually sleeping and some of the crew - maybe the LI and the teammate Shepard is closest to find him there then take him up to his cabin to sleep off a hangover. Not gonna happen, I know. But would have been nice.

Strictly speaking, there probably shouldn't be drinking on an Alliance ship. I'm shocked the Alliance didn't get rid of the bar in the lounge.

BTW - in my head canon, everything in that bar once belonged to Udina. He had a shipment for his private stock that came in right before Kasumi joined up with Shepard. Kasumi made a short side trip to the warehouses before she reported to the Normandy, and, as a result, the Normandy ended up with a fully stocked bar - and Udina ended up spending the next few days yelling at C-Sec.

I like the idea of Leviathan and Take Back Omega DLC, but what I think they should really do with DLC is finish the game.

Call it a "Director's Cut." Basically:

~Replace some/most of the scan and grab missions with actual missions where you land. Note: In most cases, you'd still have to scan to find them.
~Restore cut scenes from the Ashley romance, and fix bugged scenes. Actually allow Ash to move around the Normandy and interact with the crew
~Extra content for Thane romance, including the option to go on a date and have new dialouge when you return to the Citadel after talking to him. Give femShep with a Thane romance the option of showing more emotion when he dies
~Maybe restore some other cut scenes that would have fit with the game? (honestly, I'm not sure what was cut outside of Ash)
~Provide more options in existing dialouge - partly by adding neutral options again - and significantly reduce autodiolouge by replacing "Zaeed" style conversations with ME1/2 style conversations.

I think I raised this idea before. It will never happen, though - it would be way expensive for them to do.

Stopping in just to tell the Ash fans that Kimberly Brooks said to tell you guys "Hi!"

We were both at the Bioware after party in San Diego where she ........ wait for this ... played the new Earth MP that is about to come out. Yes, Ash was rocking it with other fans on the Earth MP.

We also both think that an Ash DLC would be great! Her and Courtenay "Jack" Taylor were wishing that Ali "Liara" Hillis had made it there which lead to Taylor tweeting Ali to come out and play. Raphael "Kaidan" Sbarge was also there and seeing those two together laughing and joking was great.

Oh, and ADLegend ... she gave me a big hug as we hung out together. Yes, I was grinning like an idiot! Posted Image

There were so many Ash fans there and her playing the new Earth map was just too crazy! I'll try and upload a pic on here tomorrow. She really is a sweetheart in person and I mentioned that you were the OP to the Ash thread! Did your ears burn? Posted Image
