Shepard: How long has it been?
Ashley: How long has what been?
Shepard: Since we picked you up on Eden Prime I mean, how long has it been?
Ashley: You and Kaidan, you mean?
Shepard: Yeah.
Ashley: God Skipper. I don't know. A little under five years ago?
Shepard: That long?
Ashley: It's only been three for you, huh?
Shepard: Yeah. It feels longer though, like a lifetime ago.
Ashley: Time gets a little hazy during a war. So much has happened, we've lost so many friends along the way. It's hard to remember how it all ran together.
Shepard: I know. I think - um. When this war is over, I think I'll go to Virmire.
Ashley: For Kaidan?
Shepard: Yeah. There was a memorial erected there, right?
Ashley: Yeah, they made it about a month after you were -
Shepard: I think that Kaidan would like to hear from us. Hell, I'd tell em all the details.
Ashley: He would have gotten a kick out of the Rachni story.
Shepard: And the Geth.
Ashley: *grins* Finding Javik on Eden Prime?
Shepard: Oh god, he would have been grinning like a goddamned idiot!
Ashley: He would have. Gosh. If he could see things now...
Shepard: Kaidan was there at the start of this fight. He should have been here at the end of it too.
Ashley: That's Saren's fault, not yours.
Shepard: Doesn't make it any easier Ashley.
Ashley: I know.

*Nostalgic music plays, then gets cut short.*

Shepard: Ok - That's all we have time for, lets go kill some bad guys!
Ashley: Lets go kick some ass.

okay, before I go to bed, I wanted to post this link  www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/themeetingplace/news/. Its a ME movie trilogy fancast. I know most people here picture Erica Cera being Ash in the movie, but what about this guys choices (which I like a lot). I thought I would share and see what you guys and gals think.

I cast my vote for Olivia Wilde being Ashley. I think she can pull it off.

Disclaimer: I really hope the ME movie is canned, burned, the ashes buried and never seen again for the rest of eternity. I don't like the idea anymore than you do.

Ok two Canadians, eh? Lets hear it; your favorite NHL team..

No on Olivia Wilde, sorry. She annoyed me to no end on House. They dumped Cameron for her essentially too which made it worse. I loved every season of that show, but the first 3 with the original team was the best.

One actress I could see, Angie Harmon. In many ways, she holds a lot of the same traits as Ash and has played characters before that were similar as well.

I skimmed the script from Leviathan but didn't get a strong sense of which lines sounded most like Ashley's. The premise for Leviathan is interesting, though, and gives me a good idea for an Ash fic where she doesn't rejoin the Normandy in ME3. It feels weird to have After The Fact DLC for ME3, when the game is over. It seems like they should have done other DLC and done the Extended Cut last... But I guess the fans were howling for too much blood to follow a sensible release. I dunno.

It's a toy designed by the Japanese, they hyper feminize everything.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with BP93 about Olivia Wilde, she doesn't seem like a good choice. I've never liked her as an actress, she just seems so bland in every role she's in.

Okay, I'm back. Have an ass full of work to do right now, but have few mins before going back to work.

And don't worry about the marriage thing. I don't intend to marry any time soon ... or go after kids. Think I need 5, 10 more years to go before even THINKING about family & stuff. Also it's okay to do the springbreak stuff until one hits 40, so ...
Well, except my girl and I stay together, which is still pending. No perfect partnership, ya know.

Whatever, back to Ashley.

Uh, by the way, I still plan to have vacation in Venezuela either this year (quite late) or next year. Definitely don't wanna go alone, and my girl can't afford ...

Alright, I have a "What If" question: What if General Williams was killed during the Siege of Shanxi, before he surrendered to the Turians? Instead of his name being ruined, he becomes a hero to the Alliance and humanity, holding the line up until his death. How do you think this would affect Ashley as a character and her history?

Meh to Olivia Wilde. She doesn't have the hard edge to play both sides of Ash (tough soldier + vulnerable friend).

@El Capitan: Uhhh, tempting but ...no. ...By which I mean not tempting at all. And still No.

:P

I'm curious about how they'll do Leviathan. Because it feels like a Reaper discovery would be a game-changer for the war. What would the end benefit be? More war assets? A flying Reaper ship to ride down to Harbinger like Dr Strangelove?

@Spitfire: A lot of her attitude is built around fighting to get what she wants. If her family name was celebrated rather than blacklisted, she'd have things handed to her. Basically, she might end up the Alliance equivalent of Miranda: born into a family of privilege. It could go several ways. Ash could pull a Miranda and try to escape her heritage as a mercenary outside the Alliance, or maybe Ash could be tough and insist on doing things on her own terms and be the one holding herself back from a career she'd perceive as built on nepotism.

Haha that's okay ;)
Think California is going to be my hunting ground - well, if I can pull the green-card-stunt. Which is not that likely, except my profession grants me a higher chance in the lottery.

@ Leviathan: guess it's a closed DLC, means, at the end it won't change that much. In best case it does AND you have a Reaper fighting on your side, shown in the final scenes, but ... that's it. I doubt it's going to happen.

@ Spitfire
Ash won't be Ash if she wouldn't have to fight so hard for every bit. She's the tough lady 'cause she HAD to fight for everything, her life was never that easy. Well, in worst case she wouldn't be in the military at all - or outranking Shepard, despite being younger: Williams, not tainted but famed, resulting in a much steeper career.

Yeah. Without the fall of General Williams, Ash wouldn't even be on board of the Normandy.

The chances of her being born at all is lowered substantially without the fall of General Williams. the only reason, as far as we know, he joined the Navy is to redeem his family name. By doing so, he met his future wife in a random encounter and they had Ash. He might have not even joined the Navy or, if he did so, could have been an officer. Doesn't mean that he would not meet the future Mrs.Williams, but the chances are remote. Therefore, the possibility of Ash being born is remote.

@Olivia Wilde idea: I really like her, but rethinking it, she might not be the best option.

Edit: I don't know what the frack happened there:blink:

Edit 2: fixed.

I'm against the idea of a ME movie unless it's prequel to ME1 but if it must be base on the games then i could see Olivia Wilde as Ashley(especially after "Cowboys and Aliens").  Edit:  She might be better suited to Liara, IMO.

Going back to my Sarah Shahi suggestion, i think she'd be good to play Ashley's sister, Sarah.  I'm really disapointed they didn't give her a unique character model in ME3(atleast not the super generic face you see on every other female character).
