New Ash question.

On the suicide mission there were certain squadmates who were the right selections for certain positions (Miranda Garrus and JAcob for fire team leaders. Tali Legion and Kasumi for tech experts. Samara and Jack for biotic bubble holders Mordin for crew escort) If there was another suicide mission type run to the core of a reaper what role would ash likely fill on your squad?

Discuss.

think its rather obvious that ash would make a good squad leader if not a great one....alot of ppl tend to down play the fact ash is not your average no name soldier.in ME1 her rank may not have been that high and she may not have seen that much if any combat before Eden prime but her traning recored shows that her scores are really high/above your average alliance marine this also includes a section about her leadership skills where she recived lots of positive feedback from the squad on her "tough but fair" attitude.

now if miranda can lead a squad that dosnt even like her succesfully through hell,i know ash could do the same.

Squad/Fire Team Leader. Hold the Line type. The Go To Girl for dispensing high numbers of projectiles in Short Order to the Opposition.

I'll also be assigning a member to take pictures of her doing so.

Love the pic as well. :D

I agree, She was the squad leader on Eden Prime during the Geth attack and of course her scores and everything are off the charts. I also ahve no doubts Ashley could lead a squad somewhere at Miranda's level and maybe at her level if she's got more leadership experiene like Miranda has with all the work she did before ME2. I'mlooking forward to how her story is filled in almost as much as I'm looking forward to her new stuff. Story time for ME3 plz.

Another vote for squad leader. She does have some hold the line in her too. I can see her mowing down husks and covering people's blindsides. Like a boss.

EDIT: Glad you like it. It ws part of an art trade I did with Astric. She's amazingly talented.

I could see Ashley also as a rescue team leader. Sort of like the Mission with the Krogan female. Send Ash in to escort a VIP and mee tup with her for the extraction. she's all the protection they need right?

Had to re-read the question.

I think what assignment Ash was given would depend upon what type of Shepherd I have.  If I'm a soldier, it makes sense to me to utilize her skills and leadership as a squad leader.  Otherwise, I might want her with me if I'm an adept, etc.  In any regard, I would probably want her with me at the end - say a boss fight.  Ash is overwhelming in an all out fire-fight.

First of all, they all died

Secondly, are you sure about that? Looking back at the SOS trasmission from Eden Prime, if you turn on subtitles a marine in the footage will have the title "Officer".

As for your suicide mission question, in my Shep's universe Ashley's a sniper. I'd rather have her covering his back.

yea, so did all of garrus's men,and against lesser enemys than geth....a bunch of mercs.yet that dosnt stop him from leading the team safely.

also if you recall in that scene that officer gets popped in the middle of that transmission...myabe ash took over from there.

Not saying Ash wouldn't be a good leader. Just saying that leading that squad on Eden Prime would be a redundant point. I doubt Garrus would put "10 dead team mates" on his resume ;)

Ashley taking over from there... about half an hour? The transmission came 17 minutes in, taking off some time for Shepard getting to her. She did the best she could, anyway.

we really dont know the circumstances during the battle of eden prime, shep and the normandy may have recived it when they were only 17 minuntes away dose not mean it wasnt sent sooner,if i recall transmissions in the ME universe take awhile to travel through space.

from the look of that SOS if she really did take command after her CO get killed by then she could have only had a dozen marines with light arms problay running low on ammo against hundreds if not thousands of geth even if she only held out for 17 minuntes id say that was impressive, not even the most skilled leader could get you out of that.

Ashley can take command of the salarians on Virmire in the event of Kirrahe's death. Neither Ashley or Kaidan seem to be quite as comfortable at it as he is but they both still get the same job done along the way so i think she could certainly be a competent leader.

according to ME wiki, she was actually a squad leader and a platoon guide, so she was already in charge.

http://masseffect.wi...Ashley_Williams

she just has her own, more direct style of leadership.

also - I believe it was several hours between attack and Normandy's arrival, not 100% sure, but its the intro, so its something I could easily replay just to check :)

I wouldnt let Ash off my side during another suicidemission anyway. If i get in some deadly trouble i want someone there i can trust. Not "the new guy" or another proby.

I see Ash as a squad leader if Jacob was. Jacob, the least charismatic person on your squad. Ashley has experience, prestige, and if this wasn't changed is a SPECTRE. She doens't let her minor prejudice against aliens effect business at all.

I noticed that that this one woman from that one show Police Women of Broward County reminds me a lot of Ashley. Her voice is similar and she wears her hair the same way. If her hair was black I think she would be the real version of Ash.

"And although arresting the dude has nothing to do with him being black., she's totally racist, just like Ash!"

(Sorry, still a little bitter about that)

Nice catch there, nickkcin!

So she reminds you of her as well right?

Is the look of Ash's hair going to be available for all characters and even Shepard because it looks so much better.

LOVE ASH!! Really hope she is one of the mentioned s/s romances, always bugged me that bioware removed that from me1!

THREAD SUPPORT!!!

Definetly think Ash is leadership material, since imo the only reason for her not being an officer is her family name, hope all of you still remember the story with her grandfather..:D

Yes and no.

Before being assigned to the Normandy, Ashley tours of duty were in places that were pretty much peaceful and there wasn't much opportunity for leading men aside from routine patrols. She may have the skills to be a good leader but, unlike Garrus, Jacob, Miranda or Shepard, she doesn't have the experience of leading her squad through life or death situation and making sure they both survive and get the job done.

Now, after the Normandy was destroyed, Ashley rose up in the ranks. The rise to operations chief was most likely due to her role in stopping Saren and Sovereign. Later promotions are all due to her skill but right now we have no idea if those acomplishments involved Ash successfully leading people into battle or being a solo act. The later is certainly a good prerequirement for becoming a Spectre, since they tend to mostly work alone (Shep excluded). The only time we do run into her in ME2 was on Horizon, and she was working there alone.

So, I'd need to take a look at Ashley's post Normandy SR1 service record to get an idea if she has a track record of successfully leading men into battle.

Right now it's a toss between having her fighting at my Shepard's side or leading her own squad, with me leaning more towards the former rather than later.

Nice elektrego! I like the top one :)

As for the suicide mission role, I can see her doing a fine job in a leadership role given by her "tough but fair" ways of handling a team (although I'd prefer Garrus for this job since he's my Shep's bff and he has more exp I guess) but I'd prefer her to be at my side so she can be there to catch my Shep when he falls especially when I needed a tank since I rarely play as a soldier.
