So, even though I have the EC installed, Liara's "father" still thought that Liara and Edwin Shepard were involved.

I'm a little sad. I thought the EC fixed that bug.

I think I figured out the workaround. On Mars, when Liara says something about not knowing how Shep manages to keep their focus (when you find out Eva Core is a traitor), take the Renegade dialogue option ("no choice" iirc). It apparently locks-out the romance option with Liara and Matriarch Aethyta will not refer to Shep as Liara's boyfriend/girlfriend.

That's the dialogue choice I took with my most recent FShep (romanced no one prior to Sam) and I'm pretty sure it's what locked Liara out.

She also did not come to my cabin with the time capsule thing either though.

EDIT: Top Ash

This is my Liam Shepard. Did it with phone a while ago from ME2. Not very good quality but meh. I just wanted to post him. I think he turned out quite well in all three games. Although i had to remake him almost everytime. Im just going to tell you his stuff.
Fully Paragon, spacer, sole survivor, soldier. Romanced/ing Ashley all three games. This is the only Shepard i've created and actually played all three games through with. I've played with Liam Shepard for 3 playthroughs and am on my 4th through all three games. Never romanced anyone but Ashley and I'd like to keep it that way. I just can't seem to play with another Shepard. What can i say, he's grown on me, and he on Ashley

I'm actually having a lot of fun playing ME3 MP and doing another playthrough. Seeing Ashley is great

Yeah, I'm enjoying my current ME3 playthrough. I think that ME1 had the best story, and that ME2 was the most fun of the three to play over all, but ME3 is still fun.

Has some real problems as a Mass Effect game, and the endings are just.. ugh. But most of the game itself is still fun.

Gotta admit, the first time - and all subsequent times of finding Ash drunk, I'm chuckling. Shepard is such a dick sometimes. Its hilarious. I can just hear the sh!t eating grin in his voice. It never fails to make me smile.

I want to see the EC for myself. Decide whether I'll stick with those, or go back to what I did before - stop before Star Brat, and head canon my own ending.

Either way, after this playthrough, I should take some time away from Mass Effect. Maybe try Fallout 3 again. As much as I still like Mass Effect, I'm also still not quite as enthusiastic about it as I used to be.

So I got 5 extractions on gold. Did my part for the operation. The added extract time is hell though, by the time the shuttle arrives you're getting your **** pushed in. LOL

I'm tempted to start another playthrough but I don't know if I can find the motivation to play it after Mars. I just hate how Ash gets sidelined after that.

I'm currently playing through Mass Effect. I'm probably not going to pick it up after a while though because I want to start out kinda fresh when I play all three games through.

I don't know how many extractions I got, must have had a number of them. I spent about 36 of the last 48 hours working towards them. So I must have had a fairly large quantity, but I kept disconnecting and getting kicked... still think I Got one or two successful ones. Oh - and I've finally unlocked all the base characters and the first set of DLCs. Got two more of the Cerberus DLC and have the Paladin+Destroyer of the N7 DLC.
Oh - and I did my first platinum run. We died wave 9, but I got something like 50k xp and 35k credits. Not bad for first run through with a level 15 adept.

@survivor

It may have been fixed. That was my first complete playthrough post-EC. That dialogue option might have just locked-out the opportunity for romance with Liara (which I didn't want) and possibly the visit to Shep's cabin with the time capsule.

Wait there's a way to keep Liara out of your cabin (at least on one opportunity...)?!

I must try this. LOL

Yeah, I'll need to do a second playthrough choosing that dialogue option to confirm it. I know I had a previous playthrough where she didn't come into my cabin for that time capsule either, but can't remember if I took that dialogue option that time as well.

Screw that.  The "I know what I'd have to lose" (pan over to Ash) is one of my favorite parts of the game.

Just don't talk to Liara's dad...

Though I understand the loss of motivation for the early parts.  The coup cannot come soon enough...

I actually like the hospital stuff.  It adds a real sense of vulnerability and allows Shepard to be there for Ash (something you don't have a ton of time to do in ME3 since it's WARWAR!!! from the begining).  It also allows Shep to show how much he cares (the way he carries Ash when she gets hurt, blowing off the council to see her first, the first visit where if you chose the correct convo choices, he's legitimately worried/concerned).  I'm actually fine with everything up till the coup, I just with there were more actual conversations once she joins up.  I mean, my favorite conversation in ME history is where you get to talk religion with Ash (both her and my shep were believers FYI).

I agree with everything you said, her lack of Normandy conversations was abominable, even if she had more dialogue on the Citadel, it wasn't the same as having a quiet moment with her on the ship.

The cut dialogue about Shepard's death also really annoyed me, since it seems really out of character for her not to be at least a little curious if Shepard saw anything? Even if the answer was a simple handwave that, "Maybe we're not allowed to remember", it'd still have been a great conversation.

I love the part where Shepard glances at Ash. It's definitely one of my favorite Ash moments of the game. I do like all the hospital parts, but I wish my Shepard could've expressed more feelings for Ash. But I still thought it was all great. I agree with Krukow also. I loved talking to Ash after each mission and actually interacting with her and learning about her backround and personality. Not just pressing A on her and have a pre-recorded 2 line conversation. If there were as many conversations with Garrus after each mission with Ashley, then I think the relationship would have been way better.

Okay, I got two questions for you guys

1. If Ashley was alive, here in the 21st century. What would she be like/do? What religion do you think she'd be? What kinda job would she have? Could she be in the military (Live in go ol' USA and females in army kinda an issue still). What would she like for music/tv/movies.

2. What if Shepard caught Garrus and Ashley in the thianx cannon room making out (implied not romanced by Shepard). How would that conversion go?

Ha-ha, Garrus and Ashley. :) That's interesting, I like it. :)

Ok, you all talking about MP so I started to play it too... Only a bit, because I want to unlock new characters and see what they can. But honestly, I'm such a noob... Only luck helping me to survive on gold.
