Ashley: Just wishes for our future, nothing else.
Shepard: I love it. And yeah, I'll be there if duty calls.
Ashley: That sounds more like you. I love you ... *closes eyes, leans in for a kiss*
Shepard: I love you, Ash ...
Ashley: That's the point where you should shut up and kiss the girl, stupid. *snickers*
Shepard: Romantic moment - killed by Ash.
Ashley: We could give up romantic and kiss and do whatever young lovers do ...
Shepard: We're together for three years, not including the years when I was dead! *grins*
Ashley: It still feels like the day when I confessed "you make me feel good enough".
Shepard: Yeah ... I know *looks in her eyes*
Ashley: Kiss. No more talking ... *kisses Shepard*


Why can't I have that IRL? It doesn't work out like that with my girl ...
Okay, maybe it's because I write such moments like I'd love to have them

I can imagine she'd be still the same, fiesty, tough as nails Ash no matter what the century, probably in the armed forces/law enforcement, I'm not sure what religion she'd be, but given how she's supposed to be latina, I'd suppose Catholic is a safe guess. I reckon she'd enjoy music by Train, watch Eureka (she'd identify with Jo Lupo, definitately), maybe enjoy sappy movies with independent protagonists...

Though I doubt she would, if she hooked up with Garrus, Shepard would be like;

Shepard: I said "Kiss a Turian AFTER me!" Ash!
Garrus: My bad, Shepard!
Shepard: I missed that shot on the Citadel by the way!
Garrus: You son of-

But tbh, I'm more kind of a romantic with written words. I fail 6 of 7 days a week with romantic stuff IRL. That annoys my girl more than anything, including all those hours I spend with that PC and not her



In my headcanon Ash & Shepard have found a way to keep their love "fresh". It doesn't get old or feels like daily business. You know what I'm talking about - at a certain point, that love changes to "every day love". You don't want to lose your partner, but the butterflies are mostly gone and only very few moments can bring them back. That's also the dangerous stage of any love - the beginning of the "every day love" when a lot ouf couples break up.

However, our beloved couple found ways to keep their love "young". Maybe because they know what it costed to save that future they want to see together?

Sail my boat, Skipper!
Used by Lt. Cmdr. Ashley M. Williams in multiple situations. The first time she used it was to get Shepard in her lair - for some private moments. Usually Ashley uses this line to initiate a more lust-driven moment but never used them in a romantic way.
In very short words: whenever Ash says "sail my boat, Skipper", she wants sex.

It's less the words but more the feelings. Sometimes it's better to NOT use them and show your love by action.

I always imagined Shepard and Ashley as the types who don't just throw around the "I love you." all the time. It's only something that's said when they're getting all soft on each other. "You being here with me.... It means everything." -sappy Shepard is sappy. I think that would get super annoying after a while. But since it's the end of all things when Shepard said that... I'll let it slide lol

"Sail my boat" is so Ashley. I think that's why it's funny lol

BE I'm with you here.
Ash and Shep don't throw those "I love yous" every five minutes. They do, mostly in their most romantic moments (just seconds before one of both destroys that moment by something funny or stupid) or just before doing a dangerous mission - but that's it.

No meaningless "I love you". ^^

I don't think Ashley and Shepard will be short of arguments and passion lol. Ashley comes off as quite the passionate type in every thing she kinda does.

Data Yeah better to show than to say the words all the time, besides like I said it would get too boring if everything seems too perfect all the time, there has to be some passion and arguments once in a while too ;-)

The hottest moments I can remember followed the most violent arguments. You know ... when ... things happen.

That's why half of my romantic dialogues include such moments. I think Shepard and Ash "destroy" romantic moments on purpose before they get too sappy. They both ARE sappy people and both HATE totally sappy moments, so it makes sense to me

I actually like the hospital stuff.  It adds a real sense of vulnerability and allows Shepard to be there for Ash (something you don't have a ton of time to do in ME3 since it's WARWAR!!! from the begining).  It also allows Shep to show how much he cares (the way he carries Ash when she gets hurt, blowing off the council to see her first, the first visit where if you chose the correct convo choices, he's legitimately worried/concerned).  I'm actually fine with everything up till the coup, I just with there were more actual conversations once she joins up.  I mean, my favorite conversation in ME history is where you get to talk religion with Ash (both her and my shep were believers FYI).

The hospital stuff is fairly decent. The game needed to be longer, though, so there'd be more time with her - and the full squad.

Full fledged side missions, rather than scan and grab, would have helped, as would expanding on certain plot points. Miranda's father, for example, should have involved several missions over the course of the game (and Miranda should have been a full fledged squad member eventually, even if not available initially).
