Data A couple should also be like best friends and be able to talk about everything, that works the best way in my experience.

Maybe Shep and Ash talks about their missions? Maybe just about nothing, maybe they just analyse stuf ;-)

Yeah, but it's hard to get. I mean, if a woman and a man are like best friends AND like a couple, both should be able to discuss about stuff like other men and women - not only celebrities but everyone else too. That's incredible difficult if one or both are jealous.
Besides talking about the other gender, most topics are less touchy and can be discusses within a couple/best friends relationship. Got what I mean?
You surely can't tell your BF that other dude in the restaurant has a darn fine ass without getting his jealous side. I wouldn't mind if my girl does the same since I know she has SERIOUS interest only in me ^^

I dunno if Shep & Ash talk much about their missions. That's job, work, wha'ever you name it. Off the field, they seem to talk about different things. We never saw it happen in game since Shepard never had much spare time displayed. In ME3, he was so occupied by the job, he worked through several days without sleep.

Yeah, my laptop is screwed. I left it for 40 mins, now it's not switching on anymore. Maybe it's the charger, idk, but I ain't gonna be on as much unless I get it fixed or buy a new one. I'm using my fam's until I do.

Ashley's the jealous type too. But jealousy just proves she cares! :P

@Cptdata

You have a point. Shepard's really warn and torn in 3. I doubt he even had much more time then he gave Ash for recreational activites. Hell, I'm surprised a crewmate didn't find him asleep at his desk or in the messhall...

Yeah BE thats true ;-) I like a little jealousy cause it shows the other person cares as you say but it should only be to a certain limit, too much of it can almost kill a relationship.

Edit: By the way, sorry to hear about your pcPosted Image Hope you get it fixed!

@BE: ouch, poor Laptop :(

@Aurora: My first guess why Shep doesn't sleep that often anymore is he fears the dreams he have at night. That's why he keeps himself awake and work harder than ever before, knowing every single minute not fighting the Reapers increase the death toll by thousands.

@OWA: Jealousy is okay, if it's not taken over a person. I consider myself as jealous, but my girl is far, far, far more jealous than I am. For instance: I don't think it's wrong if she chats with other guys or goes out with friends (including dudes). On the other hand, she really gets jealous when I'd do the same.

Am going through my solider Shepard ME2 playthrough. Will probably play replay ME3 when all the DLC are on the cheap. Just met Ashley on Horizon....ouch.

Poor Paragade Shepard....

I'm also going back through ME2-3 to do a proper Mirimance, and I just did the Horizon scene.  It's so sad that that's her only appearance in the game.  My favoritest character ever (romanced or not) reduced to a cameo...Posted Image
Gonna be tough to stay with Miranda when Ashley comes back in ME3...

No.
She has nearly no clue when it comes to tech.
My girl's not interested in tech at all and I won't change that.

I'm not sure if that's a pro or a con. Sometimes it is a con for sure ... ^_^

In a way, I like the Horizon scene. Its the only time they really ever fight. And in real relationships, a fight is bound to happen sometime. Its just natural law, you live together, spend all that time together...etc. your feelings just boil over. I remember playing that scene for the first time and I thought it was going to turn into a full blown yelling match at one point. LOL

Shepard: You God damn son of a ****!
Ashley: Screw you ****!
Garrus: Just like old times...

It's not that I dislike the Horizon scene, I DISLIKE that it's her only appearance.

Though it's hard to complain to much because at least the squaddies in ME2 are awesome. It's not like she got bumped for Vega or EDI's cameltoe...

Yeah, I'd like it if we had some cutscenes to show she was the hero of another story.

Like, when they were on Freedom's Progress, instead of fading to black to cut straight to the conversation with the Illusive Man, we see Shepard's shuttle evac while the Alliance one is incoming, with Ashley onboard.

She could see Shepard's iconic profile from a distance, but turn and shake her head because it can't be really them?!

Or post-Horizon, you should have been able to go back to the Citadel to talk to Anderson, with her in his office giving him hell that he didn't tell her that Shepard was still alive (plus any excuse to give Keith David more chance to deliver his pure voice-porn is never a bad thing).

Another character unfairly sidelined!

Seriously, you have no idea how weird it was to be a ME2 player first.  I run into this "anderson" guy, and whatever, he's clearly not important.  Then this annoying chick I've never met chews me out after I save a colony.  And Kelly asks me if I'm okay, and I'm like "shot stuff, killed collectors, don't care about pink/white chick!"  But whatever, she's gone.  Let's go kill collectors!  WOOT!

...Then I play ME1 a few times and it's like "oh, these are some of my favorite characters.  I would have never knows from ME2!"

Exactly, which is why I honestly have a soft spot for ME1 being the favourite in the series. Don't get me wrong, 2 is clearly the most awesome and 3 has some great character stuff, but ME1, despite it's simplicty was more about the story and as a writer, I love the story.

It's like Star Wars. Give me a terrible love story like in Attack of the Clones, where the romance was wrapped all in special effects and supposed plot relevance... but I really don't care. Give me a subtle but nuanced romance between Leia and Han with a clear undercurrent of belligerent sexual tension and THAT is a love story.

I love that out of all the female romance interests in the series, Ash is the only one who doesn't obviously throw herself at Shepard (yes, despite my love for Tali, that sort of includes her and also applies to Miranda, once she gets past the Tsundere). It's notable that when Shepard come back to life, she rightfully gives them hell because she thought Shepard went deep cover and faked their death for 2 years, without telling her.

As a friend, I'd be angry. But as a lover, I'd be downright furious.

I don't understand why people hate her characterisation in 2 and 3, it's honestly the most believable in the series?

I agree. ME1 Ashely romance is the best romance in the series. So many of the other romances come down to "pick the nice option, hit on this person repeatidly, do their loyalty mission". I love that you can renegade convo choice ash at various times and tease her (and she'll tease right back).

It's so good, that it makes ME3 Ash romance awesome just because it's the payoff to ME1. A lot of her personality gets left on the cutting room floor, but these characters love each other and you really get to see that. Plus it completes the "you have to come back to hear this" thing from the first one.

Also, I just recently got the "no fun, commander" line in ME1 when I didn't let her tease Liara :)

I love that line in ME1 and also how mortified she gets in that conversation when she realises that Shepard is standing right behind her, after one of her sister's finished saying how hot her new boss is.

"Oh shoot me now!"
