Of course, there would be massive drama when we all rediscovered Virmire...

I understand Virmire as a plot element, and even think it presents an interesting conflict for a video game, but it has prevented me from ever knowing anything about Kaidan, because I just can't leave Ash.  I just can't.  And as much as I try not to metagame, there's a part of me that just can't get into his story, because he's dead man walking for me.

I imagine there are some Kaidan fans who have the same problem with Ash...

Just want to ask a question and this might be obvious to some people but I just want to know what other Ash fans think.....Ash says," You know what? You want to hear this, you'll just have to come back to me." What do you guys think she says to Shepard when he comes back?

Originally, I would have said she tells him she loves him, but it's pretty early in the relationship at that point, so I'm not sure.  Maybe let some of the fanfic writers who are better at Ash dialogue than I speculate...

It's my favorite line in the game though.  Just another example of how Ash isn't a cookie-cutter romance.

I wrote a scene where Kallen meets up with her crew after Anderson gets her nomination for he council and that's where Ashley first says "I love you" to her. After a comedic group hug of course. But that's what I have in my headcanon and Ashley would have no problem saying that to her lover especially after they get to know each other over the course of the mission.

In my canon she says I love you like a week before he dies. I don't know what she would say to him when he comes back. Maybe like she definitely wants to be with him or she really likes him. Also for my canon Shepard he fell in love with her in Eden prime

I don't mean to be a jerk to Kaiden fans but I was like " Sorry Kaiden! I love Ashley so bye bye..."
I know it seems harsh but I did not like Kaiden that much, so it wasn't a hard decision for me. 'NO offense to Kaiden fans if they ever read his comment.'
The decision was still moving, don't get me wrong. It was done VERY well. Kaiden's sadrifice is remembered by me.
My Shepard fell for her on Eden prime and when he looked into her eyes as he was helping her up with a nuclear bomb behind them, sovereign closing in on them, Geth fighting to kill them, he knew...that he loved her.

The first time I played Virmire, I actually had no idea I was choosing between them, I just thought I was saving Ashley first, then Kaidan's all "It's the right choice" and "you know that's not true (when you say you'll get to him next)" and I was like WTF?

So yeah, it was actually pretty shocking for me, but ever since then my decisions have simply taken me wherever I sent Ash.

It's too bad because Kaidan seems like a really cool character, but the characters are the primary reason I play Mass Effect, and Ashley is my FAVORITE (even when I romance Miranda), and I just don't enjoy the game if she's missing. Same reason I never let Miranda/Garrus/Mordin die (excpet when Mordin dies curing the genophage obv).

Yeah he kinda gave in a little easy. I dont remember the first time i played through virmire . I do know i romanced Ashley, and haven't romanced anyone else since. And I try to get as much Ash I can get through all three games. So whatever decision I make, I always try to lean in her direction. I can't stand to let anyone die except for Zaeed. All the other deaths that happened automatically were heart wrenching. Thane, Mordin, Anderson, Legion, and almost Grunt! I didn't really get to know Jenkins though :/. And yeah, Ash is definitely my favorite character too.

@Sporeaddict No offense taken at all. Everyone has there own favorite characters and opinions and that is how it should be, I love them both  Kaidan is exclusive bedmate for my fem shep and Ashley is exclusive bedmate for my male shep!

I hate this last goodbye before the nuke:

Ashley: You know what, screw the salarians, their dalatross is just going to screw us over in 3 years anyways!
Shep: You know what, you're right.
Kaidan: Are you guys sure, we're sending them to their death if we don't send someone to help.
Shep: Yup, the STG team can take care of their own frontal assault.  We stick together, and we all go home.

@OneWomanArmy thank you for taking no offence:) nice pic btw. And I actually do remember, that on my second playthrough I kinda forgot when you make the decision between them. And i was kinda freaking out cause i didn't want to lose Ash. So I just brought her with me just in case. Little side note my Shepard was thinking," Hmm I wonder how she would react if I told her I was bringing her with me to protect her?" I don't think he'd wanna know

Yeah "...if only" I wish. It's true! Everything Ash says pretty much comes true. And I don't mean nice pic that Ash dies .

Vimire is one of my favorite levels. Tropical planet with sun & fun... Chewing up the scenery in the Mako, what´s not to like.

Im my last playthrough of the saga, I was a total renegade psycho. Telling the council to kiss my tight ass, not buying a toothbrush for Traynor & shooting Mordin in the back (kids are a pain in the ass).

And suddenly Wrex shows up on the Citadel in a bad mood, which I did not expect:

"Whats the matter, Ashley not around to do your dirty work"  

That line was awesome!

You know, it'd have been a great player punch if we had been sent back to Virmire in the third game...
