Who was talking about "killing"?
I thought more about an accident. With a crossbow while showing my (lack of) skills at the shooting range.

Nah, j/k, I love you, BE.
I would never do that to you. B)
Ashmancers don't kill each other!

You'll have fun -  for sure. So much fun, that you won't want anything bad to happen to me afterwards. Image IPB

Okay, it's movie time for me - that means at least one hour time for BE and OWA to hook up, have a date and do whatever young lovers do.

@BE: what fun?

@OWA: I'm going to miss you *sniff*

BE1 I made the thread, I'm always here sorry

I don't always beat down on someone, but when I do, it's because something increidbly stupid was said, and by incredibly stpid I mean something that Ashley would get upset at.:police:

...You know Ash would shoot the tube right?  I mean, she might be sad about EDI, but she calls the geth "blinky flashlights" in ME3.  She's not over attached to them.

She's also a soldier who understands the cost of war and victory.

But she'd never commit genocide. Afer rannoch the Geth are an allied force and are considered one the same plane as organics. If anything she would pick refusal because she wouldn't sign on with the Illusive man's way of thinking, she probably wouldn't dig the change of synthesis and she'd never sarcrafice Allies because she knows how it is to be on the other end of that.

ME1 Ashley might choose destroy with no second thought, but ME3 Ashley is more mature and has a better understanding of non-humans.=]

It's not genocide, that's a glib misuse of the word that people do on the internet because they can't make a real point.  Genocide requires intent.  Your intent is not to wipe out the geth, it's to destroy the reapers.  There is only ONE WAY to do that (the other two leave the reapers alive as the most powerful force in the galaxy).  The geth are colateral damage.  Literally, that's the proper term.

If there was a second choice that destroyed the reapers, but not the geth, genocide enters into the discussion.  But there isn't, so it doesn't.  Unless you're glib and only interested in exaggeration for the sake of shock.

Well I don't know what word you would use for wiping out an entire species of synthetic beings, erasing their programming permanently after they achieve the singular identity, similar to that of an organic instead of being several programs, wiping out their culture and their continued existence. They are aware of their existence and wish to continue said existence, there fore they are alive and living creatures. They have a military, a fleet even, and a government of consensus. That's not collateral damage, that's genocide. Ashley is not genocidal, not in the least. Which is why she'd pick refusal, to earn the victory against the Reapers on our own terms.^_^

(So to speak - I'll be back in a while - plus waiting for PM *g*)

In the meanwhile, have this ultra-sexy Ash

well, we disagree, and that's cool.  But really, you should look words up when you use them:
genocide
systematic
purposefully
From there you'll have to look up intentionally and so on, but basically, for something to be genocide, that has to be your goal.  The goal of shooting the tube is not genocide (well, of the reapers I guess).  Thus, the action is not genocide.

I get that these definitions can be confusing, but words, and how you use them, really do matter.

Um the definition of genocide proves my points. The beam from destroy doesn't discriminate. it goes through the entire galaxy via the Mass Relay's wiping out all synthetic life completely. They're gone and you decide to do that to get rid of the Reapers. You make that choice to kill the Geth along with the Reapers, you know what shooting the tube constitutes, you know the Geth aand EDI are going to die, it's not a surprise the AI explains it to you taht the beam gets all synthetics, not just the Reapers, no Geth, no EDI, no VI's, no symthetics. period. The Geth's dysonsphere is destroyed that's to the quarians so there's no back ups, EDI doesn't have any back ups either, she's dead. You know you're killing the Geth and EDI and all synthetics with the destroy beam, but since it takes out the Reapers as well it's thought of as the "smart choice" but you're killing an entire allied species at the same time you're killing your enemy. That's why I can't see Ashley ding that because she only shoots enemies, not allies and enemies.

Also can we PLEASE cut the personal stuff from the thread it's starting to get out of control. If you must talk person to person and it not be about Ashley, take it to a PM, you can have multiple people in a PM for group convo's. The topic is, has been, and always will be about Ashley and only Ashley.

Meh, who cares. The threeway between you people is whats keeping this thread alive lately.

I won't even bother with the other person, who's still talking down to people. Does BSN have an ignore feature? Seriously.

That scene when you first meet Ash or Kaidan on Earth is just awkward. It's like running into your ex at an unexpected place while you have your current girl/boyfriend with you.

It's like they're trying everything they can to not talk about Horizon. LOL.. at least Anderson's a good buffer. Totally bailed out Shepard there.

No, you're good. It's best to just drop it. The aforementioned person is now on ignore so, problem solved.

I just kind of noticed, for an M rated game, it certainly doesn't have a whole lot of cursing. Even Jack was toned down. I just want to see Ash drop one F bomb, is that too much to ask?

Kaidan is bi, he gets both male and females to use him as their LI.  Especially the gay guys, because there's only 2 choices there, and Kaidan's the one that's been there since day one.  It'd be like if there were no straight female romances, then in ME3 there was some new character and Ashley (who we'd always wanted to romance).  The Ash thread would explode too.

EDIT: Also, the straight female romances suck.  He's one of 2 possible good ones, whereas Ash is one of like one of 5...

Hopefully nobody sees that as a shot at Kaidanmancers, just an explanation for his popularity.

@BP93
Agreed about the swearing (Jack drops a few F bombs in ME2).  They seemed to use it really sparingly (and gave Vegas the big one).  Though I'm okay with Ash not swearing, I don't think it suits her.  IMO.

Eh, I don't know... Ash doesn't seem like the type to swear and drop F-bombs... well not in ME3.

I think "Crap" is as much as we're going to get out of her. She likes the word "Crap" and "crappy."

Uska, I know the Kaidan thread doesnt just limit the talks to Kaidan talks, they often use the thread as a msn type of chat style place and thats why it moves so fastImage IPB I think every thread goes off topic often.
