I guess its something to think about. Its hard to think about the shy people when you arent one yourself but at the same this thread should also be about people being themselves and having fun.

I think DWH has a point, there's nothing wrong with a little flirtation and banter. In fact I enjoy it, however when a group of people keep that kind of discussion up on a consistent basis there will be some who will be turned off by it and won't contribute or even others who will stop coming altogether. That doesn't mean we should have super serious conversations about the moral ramifications of Mass Effect all of the time, but I know if I came here as a first time browser and read the last dozen or so pages I would simply turn around and leave.

No offense to BE, OWA, or Data but please try to back down on the sexually frustrated comments and remarks about breast size. It's fun on occasion but not everyone finds such discussions pleasant when they just want to discuss their experiences playing Mass Effect and their dealings with Ashley or even have questions about what they can do better.

This thread is like my second home. The people in here are the nicest I have seen on the internet. I visit other threads and all the negativity makes me angry. I consider you guys as friends. And I do have to say this thread is always interesting.

Yes, all the people on this thread are very nice and respectful, i really do appreciate it. Its good to talk about Ashley with females and males. Btw its kinda funny reading the 3-way flirtatious comments, but there may have been peaks in some conversations that might have served better on PM, just sharing :P
Totally separate but, I was doing my ME playthrough and was talking to Liara. Of course I am romancing Ashley, but I never had really talked to Liara that much and kinda wanted to know about her as a person. So this is like my 2nd time talking to her and it's right before the Virmire mission. I do the paragon options and I had to like dodge a lot of the options just to not accidently romance her. And then she was admitting her feelings for my Shepard. He was straight out like" Uh sorry Liara I'm not interested in you at all." And then said he cared about Ash, a lot. It just seemed like Liara got the most attention in all three games. And because she couldn't be a squad-mate in ME2, they gave her a whole DLC. It just kinda annoyed me that she was like obsessed over my Shepard so quick. This topic was probably touched before, but I just witnessed it myself talking with her and wanted to say something.

Yeah, Liara's a creeper. But I think they intentionally write her that way, just like how they write Ash to essentially not give a damn.

The Mass Effect 1 romances were so much better in execution. You could actually interact with the various LIs and get to know them, it wasn't just always pick paragon option/do their mission/agree with them. It's why I never notice creeper Liara, I'm too distracted with awesome Ash.

Though I do like to romance both, just so I can get that scene where they confront you and I can dump Liara.

I'm mean like that :)

Yeah I was thinking of doing that but I can't really stand flirting with Liara even a little bit. It feels too much like cheating, but that's just me :P Although it was satisfactory when my Shepard said he wasn't interested in her and that he cared for Ashley a lot. That was enough for me. And im probably not going to talk to Liara anymore.....

I really like Liara. I blame the writers for forcing her onto the players. I didn't think she was annoying in ME1 or ME2. Now in ME3, I was like "oh come on." She made more appearances in my cabin than the LI. Ridiculous.

And I'm still upset she got her own DLC. Most of the ME1 characters were reduced to cameo appearances for slightly obvious reasons. Why did Liara get her own DLC? Why was she the chosen one?

I think maybe the thing with Liara is that she gets to play around in Shepard's mind. Maybe that's why she falls for him so quickly? Evidentially there's something there she likes.

The ME1 squadmembers who weren't on the squad in ME2 were Ash/Kadian, Liara, and Wrex. Of those, only Liara is always alive.

That's probably at least partially the explanation, although out of Ash and Kaidan, at least one of them is also always alive, so I still maintain that they should have had their DLC too.

She should have seen Ashley in his mind then. :D But I think she falls for Shepard because his mind was able to handle the prothean beacon. I think she actually mentions this in ME1 right after the crew picks her up on Therum.

I like to step back and think about it from a game developers perspective. It's a game set in space, 100+ years into the future. So essentially it's going to have a bunch of Aliens; it's basically a Sci-fi game. Having a Sci-fi, space game with heavy human content probably would not sell well. The game developers have to give the aliens much more content than the humans. It's a game set in space after all. :wizard:

I think the Miranda romancers and the Ash romancers and the Kaidan romancers are in the minority. Who wants a boring human when you can bang a cricket-bird thingy, or a blue chick or a chick whose appearance you can't even see.

You know, the funny thing about Tali... before the photoshop reveal, I always imagined quarians having lizard scales.

Ever since I played ME1. Before I knew Tali was a romance option in ME2, even.

You know, in ME1, you can totally see the glow of her eyes and a small part of her nose, and everytime I see that, I always think "that doesn't look attractive at all.(No offense to the talimancers).

I'm actually not so sure the talimancers would have minded if she looked less human. At least not all of them.

Quarians also have chicken feet. It's clear they have some major differences from humans. I think Bioware should have gone all out and given them scales, too.

Do you think Ashley wonders what Tali looks like underneath that mask? They spend a lot of time together in ME1 aboard the Normandy. Do you think Ashley was ever like "Can you take your mask off for a quick peek?" Lol.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in the ME universe knows what quarians look like. I mean... they weren't in suits forever. There should be pictures and such from before the war with the geth.

The players are the ones that are stuck in the dark.

That's a good point. I never thought of it like that. A quick search on the extranet should return some pictures of the Quarians minus the suit.

Yeah the writers said it was the players story and the players' Shepard got to see her face but not the player themselves(sry if that was confusing :P). I feel pretty bad for the Talimancers because of that. Before I saw any fan art, or Biowares picture, I imagined Tali to look like a regular human with purple skin and really cool glowy eyes. Pretty much what all the fan art of her was. All of the things like that, with the romances getting shorted, lead up to the fact that they really rushed the game and it showed. I won't get into that though:whistle:

Does anyone else miss Ash calling Shepard Skipper? It just seems weird for her to call him that in ME1 and 2 only to have her refer to Shepard as "sir" in ME3.

I have a new question, or a couple, for you guys,.....It's against Alliance regulations for Ashley and Shepard to be together. What do you guys think about it? Should it have made a bigger deal? Did it even matter? I've read fanfictions and in some of them, after the events of ME3, Ash and Shepard are addressed about their romantic relationship together, currently, and in the past. It becomes a problem for them in the stories and so forth, but it was never addressed in ME3.....at least i think it wasn't. Maybe it wasn't as big of a deal as I thought. I thought i'd ask a question to see what you guys think.

Ash certainly made a big point that what they were doing was very much against regs, but based upon the reactions from most squaddies and other characters, not very many people seemed to know about their relationship until ME3. It's possible they kept it a big secret, or it's just one of those things that the writers didn't think was important to address.

Ashley and Shepard were very discrete in ME1, only after they mutinyed and technically regs didn't even matter when they made love the first time. By the time of ME3 when they're both officers of the same rank, it shouldn't really be that important, however since they were both in the same chain of command, that could raise some issues with the brass.

Technically, while Shepard is an alliance Soldier as a SpecTRe he can override most chains of command anyway - granted that's probably an abuse of power if he just uses it to get a girlfriend/get laid. When Ash also becomes a SpecTRe. Things kind of go right out the window...

And by the time of Post-ME3, I think that anyone who wanted to even think of bringing Shepard up on Charges would probably be demonized by the general populace.

I always thought people aboard the Normandy knew, but didn't want to say anything. I assumed the crew really liked Shepard and they were loyal to him. I assumed they liked Ashley too. In ME3, I think people knew but who cares. In the grand scheme of things, fraternization doesn't matter.

@Aurora- I agree. I think their relationship gets swept under the rug, post-ME3.

A question for you lot. If you're gonna get the Leviathan DLC, which 2 squaddies are you going to take?

For me it gonna be Ash and James. I was going to choose Garrus but his too much of a dialouge ****....:crying:

My usual duo of Ash & EDI.
