I had the urge to start up ME3 again but then when I logged in I saw my galactic readiness was a whopping 50% and decided it wasn't worth farming 12 hours of boring multiplayer to get the ending I wanted.

That's some brilliant game design there. Really makes me want to buy that dlc.

The extended cut lowers the EMS you need for the breath scene. It's fairly easy to get it without multiplayer now.

Also, don't know if the extended cut is the DLC you were referring to (or if you ment the Levithan DLC) but the extended cut is free.
