I just wanted Miranda and Ashely to get the same amount of content and, you know, see them become friends.

What? On purpose TL?

S*** you guys are making me laugh so hard right now. But yea it was on purpose. I figured Ashley would be safer on the Normandy. And then I got this awkward goodbye with James and I was like  "I've made a huge mistake."

Confession time: I didn't take Ashley to the run to the beam. I took Garrus and James. Oops.

On my first walkthrough, which was speedwalkthrough (in march when I just got the game) - I just rushed through the campaign without completing any sidemissions and playing multiplayer - I didn't take Ash too. I thought my squad might die because I didn't have enough war assets... and after the tearful goodbye my Shep took other squadmates to the beam and they got killed. It was a good choice because I couldn't stand Ash being killed, my heart almost stopped beating in that Mars incident. But then, later in normal playthrough, Ash is always taken to the beam, especially after EC came out. Even if she is wounded, again, the final moments are just heartbreaking.
But normally, after she comes back to Normandy, she is ALWAYS in my squad. No exceptions.

See, you and I had the same thought process: Keep her safe on the Normandy or have her in 200 meter dash to a beam whilst getting shot at by Harbinger. Hmm I wonder which one I'll pick...

Oh wow, I did the same thing on my first play through. I kinda wanted to bring Ashley but I wanted to keep her safe. So I brought Vega and EDI because they were pretty much expendable out of the squad for me (especially Vega :P) I brought Ashley on both my 2 play throughs after that.

Yup, I always bring Ash. Helps make up for the lack of Normandy dialogue.

Ash and Javik always go on the beam run with me. I need Ash's firepower, and Javik's combination of biotics and an assault rifle.

It would actually be more touching in a way to take Ash and Garrus, since they were the team that went to Illos and the Citadel with me in ME1 - but Garrus has too much of a glass jaw in ME3, and he lacks biotics. Since Edwin Shepard isn't a biotic, I really prefer a biotic squadmate.

BTW - I'm thinking about Ash and Javik for the Levithan DLC, if only because Javik is under used in my current playthrough. I only pick him up after the coup (so I can bring Ash along to Eden Prime) and then he more or less only comes out for the Cerberus base on Noveria, then Thessia, then the Earth missions.

EDIT: Also, I still haven't seen the EC endings. Still haven't even finished Tuchanka on my current playthrough. I'm slow... I know.

I just finished up my current ME2 run. Jacob and Tali bit the dust. And I didn't cheat, though I locked in every option then declined them afterwards. Jack is hilarious to break up with. Plus the dialogue with Ash in the hospital about it is also funny as hell.

Ashley: Skipper, you ready?
Shepard: Yeah. Yeah. Just give me a sec.
Ashley: What are you reading?
Shepard: Just checkin' my e-mail, space-book and e-books.
Ashley: In other words, you're reading your porn.
Shepard: *indignant* Ash!
Ashley: No, no. You're blowing off round two for some reading. I get it.
Shepard: ... *goes back to reading* that's not tru - Wow! is that even possible?
Ashley: *leans over, reads* Oh it's possible. Wanna try it?
Shepard: *Speechless,* ... maybe?
Ashley: *evil grin* Get over 'ere loverboy!

i think miranda should've joined the squad. i mean, her logic behind not joining shepard was understandable to an extent but ex-cerberus scientist were helping the alliance, so why would they not accept help from miranda. and from the way shepard sounded he would've been ready to vouch for miranda. i can only imagine what that conversation would've been like had i romanced miranda.

but ashley won. couldn't say no. not to that beautiful mind.

Alright, time for your guys's latest heart stabbing...

(As read from the final hours of Mass Effect 3): The Team decided to recast Ashley Williams' VO during the early stages of Mass Effect because none of the team felt that they could fall in love with her.

That's the old Bioware....

ALSO

Hudson and Walters made a conscious decision to exclude both Ashley and Kaiden in ME2 because they felt that the pain of them being gone for most of the time in a 3-part love story was good.

I can sort of live with this for a couple of reasons:
1.  With Ash, it really isn't in her character to blindly follow Shepard to a terrorist organization.  That's a Tali/Garrus/Liara thing.  Ash is still strong, and she's still a soldier.  It's in character.
2.  As much as I miss her presence in ME2, I enjoy the narrative of Shep staying faithful and reuniting with her at last.  Makes the final scenes so much more EARNED.

And that other thing you posted, about them changing VA's for Ash, all I can say is thank god Ash was created by the old bioware.  She's was a great character before they got lazy.

Also, Kimberly Brooks is awesome.

Oh my, they were actually thinking of keeping the voice actor of Ashley in the original beta?
I really don't know what I would have done if they kept the original voice actor......
Yeah, Kimberly was amazing voicing Ashley :)

Not Ash-related, but I just came across this while reading another forum. Made me laugh.

And beta Ashley sounds like someone from Men In Black or something awful.. Thank God for Brooks. lol

Wait, HOLD ON.

The other day someone posted cut dialogue from the night before cronus scene.  And I said I really with the "screw the science, it was a damn miracle" line was back in.  Except, I'm playing now, and it's in there!  Was it always there, or did the EC restore this??

I just love it because finally Ash has at least something that hints at her faith...Posted Image

That's always been in. lol

The video, I think it was Shar or Aurora posted, contained lines that were already in the game but also a few that ended up getting cut.

But I agree, they didn't really expand on her faith much which was disappointing. But I guess that's due to not having her original writer. Funny, the two characters Chris Le'toile wrote (Ash and Thane) were both kick ass characters with some beliefs. B)
