I'm afraid that she will end up turning against Shepard.... I mean, how else is an individual a big part of the storyline?
She can't really rally a whole species like Legion with the Geth, or Tali with the Quarians... she's not leading an armada of ships... please, someone give me something she could be doing besides being LOLINDOCTRINATEDLOL
I swear they indoctrinate Ashley -- Bioware is going to lose sooooo much creditibility in my eyes... that is just WEAK. WEAK *Alex from SF3 voice* WEAK! I hope Bioware writers have more sense than that to create a sense of drama in this last leg of ME 3 trilogy . Why I think it would be weak is that it comes off a cheap way to cover up choices between LI just as cheap as the Miranda/Jack agruement .

Well, if anything like that happens... I'll have to go back to ME1 and... and...:crying: leave Ash on virmire for an honorable death defending the nuke. Kaidan can be indoctrinated instead.
lol speculation lol... gets you worked up.

Hey why all the pessimism! You could speculate about it in a optimistic way!
I agree with Funkcase, it's highly likely that Ash will be the Alliance representative and perhaps the big role will be that she needs to convince the alliance to work with Shepard, rebuild trust between the 2!

Not all speculation just its that one thing that Irks me to no end its like gnat at BBQ buzzing around my plate of fresh off the grill ribs. Its like its the only thing that can be used to create some human drama between characters. I just don't want Bioware to take the JK Rowlings route and start killing peope off for the sake of drama... I find that rather lame.
For most part I'm usually a calm poster.... :innocent:
Unless less I have read through people arguing about Femsheps cup size and how it being bigger makes less of an effective Spectre...

@Elek I would agree that that is more likely, but I hope they won't do stuff like if she's your LI you can save her, that's like punishing you for doing nothing wrong. Besides those restrictions of freedom haven't been in the previous games, so I don't think they will now.
I definitely agree with that!elektrego wrote...

And yeah the sunny side is pretty, especially at night though when it illuminates the moon: ( or do pessimist see that in the moon too?)
(did I post this pic before?oh well)

@Reed Ashley CAN rally a species, she can rally the Alliance. I can see alot fo the brass besides Hackett and Anderson being short and mistrusting with Shepard and leaving her out to dry when she needs them, then Ashley standing at her side and getting them on Shepard's "team" so to speak. With Shepard out of the picture Ashley is the best thing the Alliance has going so she can rally them if need be. Kaidan too. Tehy're both career marines so they msut have a ton of pull now since they're Spectre's. Hell they could rally the Spectre's, which would be amazing.

@Funkcase and everyone else in attendance:
I have no idea what role BioWare has laid out for the Virmire Survivor in ME 3.I don't really see what they have to contribute from a military or operational perspective.I mean honestly what does either Kaidan or Ashley have to offer or contibute to the Reaper War?
What resources, contacts or allies have they made when Shepard was dead?
When Commander Shepard returned... He managed to broker an alliance with the Geth.Reaffirm an alliance with the Rachni Queen.Come closer to having the Quarian Migrant Fleet throwing their support behind him.Get the backing of the New Shadow Broker. And in 2183 Captain Kiharee makes it clear after you save him and his team and complete their mission on Virmire. That you have made a friend of the STG and salarian people. What the hell has the (alleged) "second" human Spectre" done?! <_<
I mean talk about "living in the Shadow " Geez.... Operative Jacob Taylor is far more worthy of being considered to join the ranks of the Spectres than either Kai or Ash is...
I don't see what either of them bring to the table in ME 3.Other than being another personality and gun on the battlefield. But in spite of this. There is the possibilty of Ashley providing some good dramatic content at least.
What I would like to see is something like this to go down between Commander Shepard and Lieutenant Williams in Mass Effect 3:
There was a time when i thought that having either Kaidan or Ashley as Spectres in Mass Effect 3 was preposterous...
That time has passed... You see it occurred to me a few days ago that with Commander John Shepard being the first human Spectre.Captain of the Normandy.Savior of the Citadel Council. That whatever human is determined to be good enough to follow in his footsteps. To join the ranks of the Spectres.Everyone and their mothers too. Will want to know what Shepard the Spectre's opinion of the new human Spectre is.
This I believe is where Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani can BEST make her appearance in Mass Effect 3.
She accost Shepard and ask him what he thinks of the Systems Alliance New Spectre?
Shepard can reply by either choosing the conversation wheel options of:
- I Approve
- I DO NOT Approve![]()
I find myself, mostly in regards to (so-called now) Lieutenent Ashley Williams leaning greatly toward the latter choice. For these reasons:
I will never forget two or three things that she said that raised a "Red Flag" in my mind.
1. Ashley: "As noble as the Council members may seem now.If there backs are against the wall, they will abandon us." Look.If your fighting a bear and the only way for you to survive is to sick your dog on it and run. You'll do it! As much as you love your dog, it isn't human. Its not racism, not really.Members of thier species will always be more
important to them, than humans are."
2. "The Alliance is in my blood." and "I know where my loyalties lie."
Err... Does this sound like a candidate for the Spectres? Ashley has made it perfectly clear that her career and service in the Systems Alliance matters more to her than anything else in her life.It matters more than
Shepard. It matters more than "Fighting for the Lost" It matters more than picking up the torch in Commander Shepard's absence and fighting the "good fight" against the Reapers!!
Are we to truly believe that a person who has defended the Alliance as fervently as her.Could ever bring herself to do something as a Spectre that may very well, not be in the best interest of the Alliance? But in the best interest of the galactic community as a whole?
If Shepard does not endorse Ashley as the first female human Spectre.Just think about how much heat
would come down on him and her.It would be Bad-Ass.Some might accuse Shepard of sexism.Ashley would more than likely be humiliated by Shepard's cander to the Reporter: To a point far greater than her grandfather ever was.![]()
Some may say that Shepard would have to be a real douchebag to do something like that to Ashley.Believing it to be a renegade option.I do not.I think it would take tremendous courage for Commander Shepard to speak
his mind and express his true feelings about how wrong he believes her appointment to the community of Spectres is...
Ashley could decide to tough it out and prove the naysayers wrong. But anyway you look at it.Ashley and Shepard would be rivals from this point on -- perhaps...
