Ooh yeah I died a lot. But I made sure to save like every couple of minutes cause the autosave system was kinda wack...

Lol me too. As I started replaying ME1 more, I didn't need to use as many autosaves. I knew the dues and don'ts after the first 4 or 5 playthroughs Lol.

Ok Spore, we need another one of your Ashley questions. We need some discussion 'round these parts.

The autosave system is BROKEN.

I'm also trying to replay through ME1, but starting from scratch, and that game is impossible on any level above normal...

Using ME2 and ME3 tactics in ME1, will get yo a** killed fo' reals. The enemies actually move around in ME1 and flank you.

My gun overheats every 4 seconds now.

It actually makes me miss heat sinks.

THE HORROR.

I'd rather deal with the extensive gun system of ME than the oversimplified gun systems of ME2 and 3.

Yeah, it's great once you get upgrades and stuff.

It sucks when you're starting from scratch when you're used to level 50+ shepards.

SUCKS I SAY.

I second this. The inventory system could have used some fixin' but they didn't need to scrap it completely.

@Taboo- I prefer the ammo system of ME2 and 3. I like how easy it is to choose different ammo types and how you can hotkey them as well.

I just finished an ME playthrough, and the main reason I prefer it to ME2 and 3 is for the gun upgrades and the guns themselves. I loved toying around with upgrades (specially when you get into the XIII-X level of upgrades. Then, COLOSSUS ARMOR.

I actually haven't beaten ME on Hardcore or Insanity yet, and it's because of how overpowered you are by the enemy. I have a low tolerance for death in video games, and I die quite a bit early on. It really rustles my jimmies. I end up going agro and going back to normal or even casual. I just like blowing through the gameplay and experiencing the story. I'd like to use my level 60 vanguard for ME, but even if you set the difficulty higher in the menu, you're reverted to the difficulty that you beat the game on with that character.

Never played ME on insanity. If it's anything like Halo on Legendary, I'll pass. *shudder* Damn jackals. :(

It has nothing to do with "sucking." It has to do with tolerance of the early parts. I hate the cover system and you have **** for all with guns early on. If I die 3 or 4 times, I'm done with it.

Oh my god Liara is so annoying on Thessia, she acts likes only her people and raced are being targeted by the Reapers. Hearing makes me want to mute my TV.

Aurora has a theme for the dramatic.. Next you'll have a Shepley that resembles the Titanic ending. :P haha

I hate that sad awful movie. Its like, I KNOW HOW THIS ENDS BUT I'M GONNA WATCH AND CRY ANYWAY

I always had the idea of a coffin-talk though. One of tgem sits by tge coffin of the other and just talks to themselves. Too depressing though.

I actually did, Shepard sinking into some kind of pool. Didn't know where, just a scene that occured to me while listening to the finale music of Caprica. Shepard bursts out of the water Ashley + Kaidan help pull him out onto a shuttle and they take off...

Had no idea what the context was, just a scene in my mind.

Besides, Shepley post-war isn't all sunshine and roses. At least not for the years of rebuilding and rehab. Give Shepard three or four years to emotionally recover (at least enough to work again). Full recovery won't happen for years, but I think he'd be ok eventually...

Yeah. I wanted a renegade Shepard to snap at her. Hell, I wanted a Paragon Shepard to grouch at her.

I also wanted a sympathy/comfort scene from the LI, post Thessia. Nothing overt, maybe just them visiting Shepard in the cabin or in the coms both post-Thessia for a simple hug or touch on the shoulder.

It's surprising how so many people still work with that childish concept (aka starkid) in their headcanons/fanfics. Wouldn't be better to simply ignore it or go with Drew's original idea (which is far better imho)?

Because that's what's there and unfortunately, rEApers aren't gonna change it.

Hell, if I had the choice of writing, I'd void the whole darkmatter, godchild concepts all together. Make finding Leviathan the key to stopping the Reapers, make a faustian deal with Leviathan. Destroy Cerberus, strike at the Reapers And the final choice would be to honor the terms of the deal (ie, let them use Shepard as their puppet forever.) or turn on the Leviathans, on the deal and get destroyed by them or barely survive the secondary nemesis with varying degress of sucess or failure depending on warassets.

Even after digging through all of my dictionaries I still cannot to understand what meaning you placed in this phrase. Since English is your mother's tongue, apparently, would you be so kind to explain me what you meant?

Hmmmmmm, I hear Thessia is SO MUCH BETTER with Javik. I'm going to bring him next time I play through that terrible mission.
No "so much", but better. Pff. Anyone, go register "Javik™" brand and use next slogan: "everything better with Javik". I guess mustard will go. Or horseradish.
Time Laspe wrote...

It was waaay easier to die in ME1 that the other two games.
What? It was easier to die in ME2/3 than in ME1. In ME3 mostly because of space-do-everything-bar and in ME2 partially because of that, because of getting stuck in geometry and general suckness of combat system.
krukow wrote...

What? Couple of weeks back I begin to play ME1 at Insanity from scratch. No issues. Game adjusts a bit to your level - enemies has lesser shields, for example. But yeah, game tells you that retreat is tactical solution, not cowards' move. Especially on Luna.

Yeah, only few people understand that because levels are HUGE! It's so easy to get lost there... Posted Image
krukow wrote...

Well, let it cool-off (about 7-8 seconds, right to recharge your shields) and find better tactics. You still have all 4 guns, don't you. If Kaidan "wnihey biotic" Alenko managed to kill Colossus one-on-one, why can't you?Posted Image

Heatsinks are horror. Meaningless, badly implemented horror.

No, it doesn't sucks. Unless, of course, all you dream is WTFPWNAGE from second 1...
Time Laspe wrote...
Explain me how soldier can actually affect ammo in his gun? "I bound you to my will and now you will be tracer"?

Not to mention that I don't understand physically how it is possible to make "grain of sand" fraction to say "explode". Or I don't get how it is possible to speed it up to hypervelocity (especially ME2 50 metres per second) in first place and if it just grain of sand, why there are those big barrels?
So I say ammo should be additional "mod" as it was in ME1. You want tracers? Put them into.
And if they failed with proper soldier's skills selection, well, it barely guns problem.
Taboo-XX wrote...

What if I told you...I preferred the guns in ME2 and ME3?
They all sucks, though at least ME1 projectiles velocity seems to be closest to Codex, allowing you near instant hit on distances up to 400 metres. And their grade system is not as meaningless as ME3's.
I'd prefer niche/form-factor/role weapons, one per each. Say light/medium/heavy carbine. light machinegun, etc. To some extent, ME2 approach was closest to that, but a) projectiles velocity sucked, sideways and royally, B) firing mode shouldn'e be weapon based, that's just cheap-arse, c) heatsinks.
ME3 system has a way too much lot of redundancy and meaningless guns. Not to mention weapons' grade system. Physics anyone - if gun became more powerful AND lighter it has to have higher recoil and muzzle flip or climb. Or how come Palading, weighing less than Widow, but packing 40% of her power and manages to deal with about ~35% power per weight recoil distribution? Not to mention upgrades. Head explosion blah-blah? Grain of sand? Explodes? Space magic...

I'd rather have clips. It adds an unconscious level of stratergy to the game. I don't like the fact that you can mod weapons in one to the point where you can fire indefinitely. Too much of a game breaker for me.
