The whole plot of ME3 is going around the galaxy solving everyone else's problems so they'll unite to save the galaxy.  Everyone is content to let their neighbors burn until they solve their own problems.  The exact thing Ash says will happen.  The EXACT thing.

The person you quoted, LessThanKate, was referencing who Ash might romance in Mass Effect 3 if she wasn't with Shepard. Yet all your arguments are solely based on Mass Effect 1. How is the beginning of a character's growth a good representation of their entire character? 

By that logic, I would stop at saying "Miranda is a heartless ****" based on her actions on Freedom's Progress and her cold disregard for Jack's suffering at the hands of Cerberus. Would you let her entire growth arc with her sister and learning to trust Shepard slide in the same way you're dismissing Ashley for a couple conversations in ME1?

Yeah. As someone whose played all three in a row. Ashley's feelings are realistic and justified. Its kind of a freudian reason, but still valid all the same.

Her grandfather surrendered to Aliens. History doesn't remember that he saved the whole damn planet, it only remembers him as a weak commander who couldn't even win the battle. Despite the exhausted malnurished state he and his troops were in. As such, that stigma has carried down the family line. Ash isn't hateful of Aliens. About half way through ME1, she speaks to Tali, sympathetic to the Quarian's fate as drifters in the morning war. She has playful jabs at Garrus who responsed in kind.

The biggest thing that people 'hate' about her is the fact that if you can't stop Wrex on Virmire, she'll shoot him to protect Shepard. That's not because she 'hates' aliens, its because her Commander, friend and potential Love interest is in danger and she wants to protect them. Its done out of a subordinate's sense of duty more than anything else. And she doesn't go ax crazy or start laughing maddeningly, she shoots Wrex repeatedly to prevent his secondary and tertiary organs regenerating. She's doing a dirty job, she knows it, but still contiunes because that's what the situation had unfortunately led to. She makes no jokes about it afterwards either.
 
That being said, it's actually ridiculously easy to talk Wrex down. A (rena/para) persuassion of 10 or doing Wrex' quest. The latter which takes the all of ten minutes (I timed it start to finish).

Wrex was willing to damn the mission and let Saren live because of the genophage Cure he created. He was willing to arm a shotgun at Shepard for it. If he can't be talked down, I think that Ash is perfectly justified to shoot Wrex and stop him from reducing Shepard's face and torso to mince meat.

For the record, I rarely troll. I usually just (utterly and completely) interpret the character different than you. I add to discussion and/or argument though!

I wasn't talking about character disagreements, I was talking about the times you say Ashley is better. But now that I'm here as are a few Mirimancers, we should team up against the Talimancers, because even though Ash was a permanent squad, unless romanced she didn't get much content.

I think that if she wanted to, she would go for it. She's young and it would be one more accomplishment for her family name and herself. I think she would pass, no doubt. Plus Shepard would be able to give her good advice on it since he's already an N7

. She's much better suited to N7 than spectre

I think she would pass up the oppurtunity as well. A Spectre has greater benefits than being a Spectre. Not to mention, I think she would want to take it easy on the combat for awhile. (sorry for any typos. I'm on my phone)

And if she did do the N7 thing, it'd probably just be for the records and or experience.

I catergorically do not believe that Ashley would pass up the opportunity to join the N7 ranks. I do not see her character claiming that she'll take it easy. It doesn't seem like her. However, depending on how her future goes with Shepard she may very well pass it up due to other reasons... hint!hint! sporeaddict101.

I don't see her ever being lazy or passing it up because she doesn't feel like it, but I could see her focusing on different things.

Mmm I think Liara content is more of an enemy to us. I've said this before but, Tali is no competition because she's like a little sister to my Shepard. I don't even see her as a potential LI.
I think all the Liara content in ME3 screwed everybody elses LI content...

I really like Liara so I don't mind all the content. Tali, on the other hand, I despise her and she's the most popular LI, if BioWare caves to fan demand, we can expect Tali's content to increase.

She's so young and they talk about having babies and settling on Rannoch, when she has her whole life ahead of her. Actually same with Liara, she is pretty much about 19 right? At least Ashley and Miranda are age appropriate for Shepard...

Actually I'm not a 100% sure, all the polls I see it's always one of them that are in the first position but I consider Tali because Liara is a LI for both genders. And I agree with you, Talimancers are crazy and how could people romance someone as naive as her? I don't know what Liara's age would be if compared to humans.

You're right about Ash and Miranda, they may be considered more suited because of their age.
