For ugly Shepard's I just assume Ash really liked his personality and was willing to see beyond the looks. :P

Not that I've ever had to worry about that...

Yeah me neither, but I don't know if it would be possible for anyone to love some of the guys I've seen x) I kid, Ashley is a good enough woman to see past that stuff.
That's awesome krukow. It's pretty fun from my experience, not that it matters coming from me. There are ups and downs, and of course all the Ashley parts are great. There just wasn't enough "up" moments with Ashley, IMO....
That's not a spoiler is it? Sorry if it is...

What's there to talk about nowadays? We're pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrel for topics lately. At least all the chatting keeps the thread alive. I'm watching Michigan vs. Alabama right now. I love the fall, football all weekend.

I'm not buying the dlc, seen it on youtube. Doesn't seem like enough to warrant 10 bucks. *shrug*

I'm not buying anymore DLC unless it has to do with the ending or it gives more content to Ashley.

What motivated me to buy it was the hype about them saying to bring your LI's and stuff. And also that there was going to be a lot of dialogue, which yes there was with Leviathon. I would have rather had that long of a conversation with Ashley than an old reaper to tell the truth x)

Okay guys time for a question that may or may not has been discussed before. Do you think Ashley should have visited Shepard and told him her letter in person, be fine with Shepard reading it on the console, or having the audio letter included in the game? (There wouldn't be a kiss or anything but maybe a touch on the shoulder or face when seeing Shepard again)

I think they should have included the audio message Kimberly Brooks read out. When you open the message it would just activate the audio. I mean, why make the audio and then not include it in the game?? It's nice hearing it on YouTube but it would have meant a lot more in game...
And couldn't they add it in an update or something?
Maybe not, but it still would have been nice to have it.

I think the only reason why she didn't give him the letter in person is because she either didn't have time to and she had no idea where he was. Ashley knew Shep wroked for Cerebus, but she didn't know his exact whereabouts in the galaxy, and tracking him down would have been hard.

That being said, an email is fine in my opinion. Imagine Shep's surprise when he opens his email and sees an email from Ashley. I Imagine his heart skipped a few beats Lol.

True dat. My Shepard's heart certainly skipped  Cuz he in love <3 lol I can get carried away sorry.
Actually that's totally realistic, because he is in love :D
Imagine what feelings were overcoming him when he saw Ashley approaching for the first time in months. So much uncertainty, love, anger, happiness, and so many other feelings mixed together all happening at once...
Same goes for Ashley <3:?

I can tell you that email snapped my Shepard right out of a hangover when he got it. Mine kind of developed an alcohol problem pretty quickly after getting on the SR2. You can imagine Ash's rejection would send him further over the edge. After the E-mail, he snapped out of it.

He has butterflies everytime he sees Ash :D Because to him she is the most beautiful woman in the world, and not a day goes by he doesn't remind her of it. That's how I think it would be for them.
And they would be the excitement type of butterflies, not nervous.
But when he saw her on Horizon and that base YES....DEM NERVOUS BUTTERFLIES BE TROLLIN'.

Okay don't know if anybody's on but what the he**. Hehe another question that may have been discussed before, so forgive me if it has.

Do you guys think Ashley would turn to the drink, try working as hard as she could to get those adrenaline rushes to numb the pain and grief, or would she cry over him in private but keep a straight face in public? Or all of the above....and that didn't sound as poetic as I wanted it to...x) Sorry...
A good writer would be able to nail that poetic sense. Aurora? BP? Data? Ren? Badpie? :D
Okay basically, how do you think she felt and what did she do those two years?

I think she would cry over him but not let it drive her insane. She may be shut in and depressed most days but she would be able to move and work. Everyday she would be reminded of him but instead of trying to forget him she would embrace the memories. It would hurt but comfort her at the same time. I don't think she would turn to alcohol, I would think she's smarter then that. Instead she would read poems like she said she did over those years. And her family would help her out, cry with her and what not. Eventually it'd be a daily routine of working her a** off and at the same time grieve for her Shepard.
(typing on phone) So yeah...sorry for mistakes.

I think she would just try and use work to shut it all out. During her downtime, she would probably cry and grieve over Shepard, but I don't think she become an alcoholic. However I do see her drowning in a few glasses of booze a few nights, but Ash wouldn't become an alcoholic.

During the two years that Shep is dead, her family would help her get through it. Spending time with her sisters would help alleviate some pain, I'm guessing.

I think she'd toss herself into her work and try to force away her emotions. Focusing on her job and only her job. She'd have 'downtime' but never let herself relax. I think it would take her family sitting her down to help her face that yes, Shepard was indeed dead and yes, she would have to let herself get over it eventually. I think she would have been able to completely put it behind her, but by the time she did, there were already whispers of his return.

I could go into detail, but I'm not feeling particularly philsophical or sentimental today.

In my DE headcanon, both VSs are broken, but Fem!Shep becomes even more ruthless, cold and cruel. To the point where she and Kaidan actually split up, (though her ruthless tendencies influence him to some degree). Ash and fem!Shep also cut ties because of various reasons.

Basically as Joker said, Shepard was the glue keeping them all together. Without him, they all go their seperate ways. With him flying Alliance colours in 3, they quickly rally under his banner... after giving him an earful/slug across the face for the whole Cerberus fiasco.

Do you think Ashley and Shepard would enjoy long walks on the beach? XD

I think they would enjoy a day at the shooting range more. But occasionally a nice stroll to talk, just the two of them, would be nice and relaxing for them. When they aren't saving the frekken galaxy that is :D
Ashley likes nice strolls on the beach, but she also likes BLASTIN' BAD GUYS WITH HER BOOMSTICK!

:P
I should probably go. I'm starting to think of funny questions at this hour... :)

Definitely. A nice stroll barefoot across the beach after a trying day. Maybe at twilight or so possibly just during a lunchtime break. It seems like the kind of thing an older, post-war rebuild Shepley would enjoy.

I check in every now and then. But it's honestly not worth the time anymore. Real Life has more importance... with ME3 out, and everything Ash said and done analyised to hell, there's really nothing else to do. Unless they want to come out with a new VS exclusive DLC (which is doubtful to happen), then there's really no reason to stick around.

Yea, I'm only somewhat active because its a decent way to pass the time at work when its slow. Or when I should really be in bed, like now. I'll be abandoning you all relatively soon though when I ship out for boot camp. That's when the thread will REALLY go down hill.. :P

However, this bit of lyrics sound relevant to Shepard or Ash in regards to the other:

I'm sorry 'bout the attitude
I need to give when I'm with you
But no one else would take this **** from me

Rob Thomas is a genius.

Krukow's review of Leviathan:
Two things you should know:
1.  UV makes a 103 proof vodka.  Mmmmmm, fun!
2.  I love Mass Effect 3.  Oh, I hated the original endings, and think Miranda not being a squad member is worse than hitler.  But I've made peace with the EC (and actually enjoy the High EMS destroy ending) and accepted that Miranda is the ultimate tease character.  Beyond that though, it's such an emotionally engaging game.  From the big (rannoch, tachunka, Ash stuff) to the little (Jack finding happiness in the world, David Archer being okay, Samara reconciling with her daughter (in the ec), etc), it's such an emotionally rewarding game.

I'll hightlight/underline sections so you can skim.  Also, I won't correct spelling with Microsof word for your entertainment.

Overall:
I enjoy the story.  It starts out as a bit of a mystery (that I ruined by reading spoilers).  But I enjoy the story progression.  My only complaint is that when I play as renegade shep, the moment miners start acting weird, I should be able to start shooting.  Baring that, it's a fun little mystery where you follow clues from one thing to the next.  I enjoyed the stuff with EDI.  I saw a couple of Liaramancers fear that EDI replaced Liara due to the haters, but really EDI was the right choice.  She's the living computer who could do analysis at the drop of a hat for you.  Also, she was a lot of fun in this DLC and it made me a slight bit sadder I kill her eventually.  OH, I still shoot the tube.  Hell, if she tried to sheild the tube with her body, I'd shoot through her to shoot it, but I feel just a bit sadder.
I feel the leviathan reveal is a cool reveal.  Unpopular opinion aleart, but I think ME3 makes a ton of sense if you remove your hatered from it.  If you just view it analytically (and in view of the EC endings), it really is a coherant story, and a pretty decent one at that.  Basically, the leviathans were galactic overlords that wanted to solve their minion species problems, and RUINED EVERYTHING.  I personally liked the touch of them agreeing that the catalyst wasn't wrong.  It makes shepard the hearld of a new order.  A proper order.
In summary, I enjoyed the gameplay and the storyline.

the important stuff:
Ashley content:
okay, here's the thing.  This DLC doesn't offer a ton of Ashley romance content.  And that's a good thing.
By my count, we already have:
Telling Liara that we know what we'd lose if we lost (pan to Ash)
Telling Ash she's the only one we'll ever want
Visiting her in the hospital
Her realizing how manipulated Shep was in ME2
Her wishing she'd joined Shep in ME2 (and the "you're here now" response)
The love scene
The first "I love you"
The initial "i don't want you to go scene" on Earth
The goodbye and evac with the Normandy
The flashback
Her not putting his nameplate up (in direct contradiction to control/synthesis where he's dead)

We have enough gooey love stuff.  If we got more, it would detract from the ones we have, and I love what we have.

What we needed was more Ash being part of the story.  She misses out on 1/3 or so of the game cuz she's in the hospital.  What we needed from DLC was Shepley.  Them together fighting for the galaxy.  And that's what we get.  I played each mission with Ash/Javik, so maybe she just overrides him, but she was the primary banter squaddie to the point that I'm actually curious if they wrote the logic to give primacy to the LI.  There were times where I assumed Javik would be the one to respond, but it was Ash.  Even little things, like when the miners return to normal, and you realize they may have been out of it for a while, and shepard give ash this look (and she reciprocates).
See, what we got was better than more "I love you"s.  It was a long mission where Ashley and Shepard are together.  They do their thing, but it's played out the way it would go for a couple.  Honestly, this is the closest I may ever get to seeing how they'd act in combat/during a mission if they were married.  And I LOVED IT.

Random Notes:
People say this mission ruins destroy because the leviathans are scarier than the reapers, but that's not true.  There's freaking 3 of them, and they need you to be around artifacts to control you anways.  Just send out commandos to destroy the remainding artifacts and them bomb them from space.  Problem Solved.

I played it on normal to enjoy the story (Sporeaddict style yo!), but still died once.  F*CK BANSHEES.

Fun anecdote:  on the rescue the daughter scientist mission:  At one point the raeapers take out your path, and shep's all "let's find another way", and before I even found my bearings, Ashley started climbing up the ladder for me.  #FYEAHASHLEY

Ash actually has an auto dialogue line between each mission if you want to go down and talk to her.

James and Steve have a hilarious autodialogue after the second mission.  And yes, James could take out all the reapers on Earth with Brass Knucks.  SPOREADDICT, STOP HATING HIM, HE JUST WANTS TO LOVE YOU!!!

When you're in the lab in the citadel, and James joins you, talk to him 3 times.  The third time is hilarious.  CHOMP!

On the water plaent, there are two awesome things:
1.  Steve tells you to come find him at one point, so I ran to the shuttle, only to realize he was right behind me, taking cover, and firing on reaper forcer.  Awesome.
2.  While talking to Steve, Ashley stands up in the background an starts firing.  She's totally protecting us.  AWESOME.

Finally, going back to a point I referenced earlier, people have said that this DLC is supposed to make destroy worse, but if you talk to Ash, she says the reapers are "Monsters that need to be put down."  Direct quote.  I'm not taking it out of context.

So shoot that tube my fellow Ashmancers, and know that Ashley will completely agree with your choice and you get a happily every after!!! :)

In conclusion, I am glad to have spent 10$ on this DLC.  I enjoyed it and am glad to have it.

PS: If you TL;DR me, that's fine, but if you post that, you have to romance jacob in your next lifePosted Image
