I don't believe in a apocalypse created by God, don't worry.

However, I know what kind of weaponry mankind still has (nukes) and the current state of the world is not what I'd call "stable". In fact, the world was far more safe between 1960 and 2000 than between 2001 and 2012. And things are getting worse.

Well, then imagine femShep being there only to accompany her to the altar, when the true one is waiting... ;)

Ashley: God this sucks.
Kaidan: Well, it sucks because we said 'yes' to the council's offer of SpecTRe status.
Ashley: Hey - Skipper?
Shepard: Mmm?
Ashley: The hell didn't you want us about the ungodly paperwork?
Shepard: 'Paperwork'? What are you reading? This is Fornax.
Kaidan: I prefer last month's issue.
Shepard: Mmm.
Ashley: What?! Am I the only one doing paperwork!? How did you guys find the time to read?
Shepard: Because you're doing ours too.
Ashley: ... What?!
Kaidan: I think that running might be advised, John.
Ashley: You complete dick... !

"End of the world comes"? Heh, I'm from East Europe, it won't come here. Because it resides here.

So be prepared, westerners, 2012 December, 22, East Europe will be EVERYWHERE!

You must be new here.
Yeah, sure, my very first post here. Never played games, just hanging around.
But apparently you never read any of my post here and in other threads. Other threads are forgivable, since there are too many of them.
ADLegend21 wrote...

Ashley had some of the best technical scores in the alliance.
"Exemplary" doesn't mean anything specific, especially with other 330 millions servicemen on the background.
Why it's not specific? There is no reference. We can't compare them with anything, we don't know how many people passed those exemplary scores and how challenging they are.
Shepard could be surprised seeing person with such scores on the ground, but it doesn't mean she is the only person with such scores.
Plus, of all those 330 millions. How many actually serve in space? How many ships and space stations Alliance has? Anybody knows? Y4E told me that prior FCW humans had ~200 ships. Somehow I doubt each with crew of 1-2K people (that's Bismark).
ADLegend21 wrote...

The only reason she was held to ops chief was because of her relation to General Williams.
Held? She's 25 and she is Gunny already. Ellison was Gunny for at least 4 years, between Shepard's and William's visits to boot camp. So, since she was promoted to OC, this could be done right before ME2 events, thus meaning she was GC at least since 23, or if her promotion to OC happened earlier, that means she could be promoted to GC as early as 21. So she jumped 3 ranks in 3 years. Or 5. That's holding? That could be "holding" should Alliance had a lot of ranks, like Wehrmacht or Bundeswehr does, about 3 gefreiter, 7 unter and 5 feldwebel ranks.
So no need to tell me she was "held back by brass". Kept in backwater - maybe, but like I said - how many people actually served in space? 330 mlns is great number, that's 165000 modern regiments, just for moment. Alliance had occupied that many planets and has that many ships and space stations to spread all those people around? Or most of them sticked to ground duty, maybe even on Earth, since there are still some "wilderness" areas, apparently?
ADLegend21 wrote...

She's trained to use all manner of weaponry and trained in hand to hand combat.
Oh, hand to hand combat is special favorite of mine. Quite entertaining when you can spam immunity and beat the schitt out of everyone, just for fun sake.
But in reality, any Grand Melees anyone?

Melee is usable mostly for LE duty, when you need to capture someone unharmed... Relatively, because in such situation, if met resistance will exceed expectations, applied measures will be greater, thus the risks to harm subject; drunks, drug addicts and other people "under affect" are especially inclined toward that. So melee could be less than effective on people like those, not to mention it will be your life you will be risking trying to hold such person. So there is a lot of so called "less than lethal" measures, like bean-bag round, gas, "rubber grenade" for underslung or stand-alone grenade launcher, tazer. To name a few. Of course, if you (your department) have them and allows to use them.
ADLegend21 wrote...

She's one of the best soldiers in the Alliance.
See above, there is no proof of that. Though your phrase itself quite vague, I admit.Posted Image
ADLegend21 wrote...

She hadn't served in space, only planet side because of her family, Anderson had nothing to do with that, when he got his hands on her he put her in space on the Normandy.
Nuh-uh. That's not how bureacracy works. If you have access to dossiers of each and every person (330 mlns), you can choose anyone. If somebody on schittlist, he will be there, regardless of events. If somebody up high really wanted to held Ashley, she would be removed from ship as soon as you docked on Citadel. That's 15 hours of flight, give or take, quite enough to "send the word". And if she was allowed to be kept, nobody really kept her "on hold". (cancel... building.Posted Image)
ADLegend21 wrote...

Then guess what, more often than not he's on the council.
Well, seeing his success in other areas, I can't say that means really much.
ADLegend21 wrote...

You think he wouldn't continue rewarding her for her exceptional skillset and hard working attitude? You're a fool if you think otherwise. Anderson knows skill when he sees it and Ashley has a lot of skill and he let her blossom into Leiutenant Commander Ashley Williams.
There are many ways to reward for hard work and exception skillset, other than overpromoting someone for unknown deeds. Think about another angle, of course, Anderson is not best example himself in the first place - fully graduated 2nd Lt AND full-fledged member of N7 in 20 y.o. - but how would other officers, who naturally serves decade to achieve that rank, and enlisted personnel, who is very "touchy" on commander's subject, feel toward such rocket-jumper?
This is very dangerous path, undermining whole military hierarchy and subordination. Maybe I'm a fool, but I've seen where that leads. And if Anderson doesn't understand that, he is even greater fool than I am.
ADLegend21 wrote...

Liara becomes the Shadow Broker.
Which is quite "interesting", if you try to analyze circumstances. But given how much bioware knows about guard duty...
ADLegend21 wrote...

Wrex leads his entire species.
Wrex was already old, had experience, and, apparently, some "respect". Pfeh, like we talking GTA here. Posted Image
ADLegend21 wrote...

Tali becomes an Admiral.
That's an idiocy, even for quarians. But they gave her "formal excuses".
ADLegend21 wrote...

Kaidan becomes a major and a Spectre.
His jump to major is again, overpromotion. for 2 years he totally skipped Shepard's rank and 6 months later promoted again. Even ingame officers, not to mention real ones, would look very bad in that comparison.
ADLegend21 wrote...

Garrus has a merc team and manages to cut Omega's crime rate before it goes wrong then gets a task for to fight the Reapers.
Given his prior military experience (that's 15 basic Turian years, at least), plus LE experience, that's nothing special. Not sure he really cut Omega crime rate that high - it was 85%, now it 84%, does it really makes difference?
ADLegend21 wrote...

Ashley becomes a Lieutenant Commander and Spectre.
And that makes less sense than ME3 story, since in 2.5 years from NCO to LtCdr, that's a way too high.
ADLegend21 wrote...

Each one is special because of what they accomplished in ME1. to quote Zaeed "BIG GUDDAM HEROES" all of them.
Maybe they special because gamers love them. But that idiocy is what you get when writing is done by people who knows nothing about how military functions.

In 21/12-2012 I will not be a man.

I began as one, but now I am becoming more than a man, as you will witness...

I AM THE DRAGON!

And you call me insane. You are privy to a great
becoming, but you recognize nothing. To me, you are a slug in the sun.
You are an ant in the afterbirth. It is your nature to do one thing
correctly. Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe
me. YOU OWE ME AWE...
