Despite using an old Ash pic, this is set some years after end of ME3. Shepard vanished and Ashley's orders are to find him and bring him back to Earth.
I'm currently trying out how different scenes for something I'm working at.

Ashley: Stop right there and put your gun down!
Shepard: Didn't expect you here, Ash ...
Ashley: Don't "Ash" me, Shepard.
Shepard: When did I lose that privilege? We're friends, remember? Friends!
Ashley: We were friends. Now put your gun down.
Shepard: I can't do that, Ashley. You must trust me ... I can't explain now, but maybe I can later.
Ashley: Who was running away? Who left his post? How can you expect that ANYONE can trust you?
Shepard: I didn't expect you'd understand. Just hope you would trust me, after all what we had together ...
Ashley: That has been a long time ago. Now put your weapon down. Don't make it any more complicated than it already is.
Shepard: I told you ... I can't.
Ashley: Don't make me to take you down!
Shepard: No, I won't ... I'm sorry, Ash ... *shoots her in the leg*

Ashley fell on the ground and lost track of Shepard. It took another two months until she found him again ...

For some reason, I can't see Shepard shooting Ashley - to wound or otherwise, in any circumstances. Or maybe I'm just projecting my Shepard onto yours. At post-war, the only reason he's really able to keep living any more is because Ash is there.

Well, you're missed here either. Lots of good dialogues missing.

Actually, I intend make my Shepard doing everything to accomplish his mission - even shooting at Ashley if needed. He would never do that without a damn good reason and in this case, it's far more kind of a threat than the Udina's coup. Also I make him aiming for a non-critical part of Ash - he doesn't want to hurt and NEVER want to kill her.

Still experimenting with that scene in my head. Maybe adding some more lines here and there, but in the long run, Shep knows Ash. She won't let him go and he HAS to go. He also has no time to explain everything since he doesn't fully understand it as well. He just knows he has to do it.

Main purpose of that idea is to put a huge load on a relationship that's dead already. Ashley's trust issues are one cause, but the biggest weight on the entire thing is Shepard's inability to explain his doings.

my shepard could never hurt ash. hes learned from his past mistakes. now he takes the time to explain himself properly.  trust issues resolved. but thats just me.
