Lt. Commander Ashley Williams thread: "Don't 'Ash' me!" We're Back Baby!

I would imagine that 'Skipper' and 'Chief' have become pet names for each other. Hell, my Shep'd still call her Chief even if she were a Major and he were a Admiral... Though I'm pretty sure that my Shepard is waiting to be ranked 'Ultimate Badass', 'God-killer', 'Emperor of Holy Terra', 'God Emperor of mankind' or just 'Jon - SN7' (Spectre N7). Ash reffered to him as a 'God' on the Horizon, given that the situation was very negative - it still inflated Shepard's ego.... lol... my shepard's a little self-absorbed.

Sorry Brainheart, she called me a traitor and accused me accused me of being brainwashed and working for the Collectors. She let her emotions get in the way even knowing what the real threat was and knowing once again the Alliance wasn't doing jack all about it. I told her I was dead and I told her I wasn't working for Cerberus but that they were the only ones doing anything real about the situation. Yet still she throws a temper tantrum, yes I should blame Ash. But that doesn't mean I don't understand her reasoning.
God forbid someone NOT worship the ground Shepard walks on and... *gasp* actually has an opinion and thoughts of their own! HOW DARE THEY!!! <_<

Malcolm Reynolds + Zoe Washburne from firefly, or John Shepard + Ashley Williams of Mass Effect - Or are they equal in terms of god-like awesomeness?

Shep dies. Ash spends 2 years keeping her mind on her work, moving on. Meanwhile, something or someone starts wiping out human colonies in the terminus systems. No one knows who or what they are. The Alliance receives intel that Shep might be alive, with Cerberus, and headed to Horizon. Ashley goes to Horizon, officially as part of the Alliance outreach program, but unofficially to corroborate that intel. The Collectors show up and abduct half the colony (somehow missing Ashley, even though she was caught by the Seekers). Shep shows up, and he's with Cerberus.
Intel confirmed.
So here's a guy who's supposed to be dead, but now he's here with a known terrorist organization with a record of mind control experimentation (see above: Rachni, Thorian), and the colony just got wiped out. Is he a clone? Is he mind controlled? Was Cerberus behind the colony attack? How is Ash supposed to know that?
Ash can't be expected to know what the player knows. And even if she was in love with Shep... he's been dead for two years. How can she even be sure it's him, let alone trust him on faith?
The fact that she drops hints in her email that she believes Shep and "can't lose him a second time" tells me that she's inclined to believe him and that she's still carrying a torch for him.
I am inclined to not throw a whiny hissy-fit that Ash was angry, and cut her some slack. Cerberus is f'd up... I wouldn't trust my girlfriend either if she was dead for two years and then somehow showed up with them.

For firefly fans out there - who would they consider more awesome?

To be honest, I wouldn't want Zoe & Mal together. I like it when a male & female can be best friends without sex. Besides, Mal belonged to Inara.

I didn't mean as in romance pairing, I know Zoe belongs to Wash. I mean in terms of professional soliders. And just sheer awesomeness of their dialogue+banter and solider-y skills.
Sorry about that.

LOL!!!!! I can put my shotgun away then. I could see Shepard & Ash having some Mal & Zoe moments. I always saw my Shepard with Tali like Mal & Kaylee of Firefly. Of course, I can also see Shepard & Ash having some Mal & Inara moments as well.

"Serenity" was just a bad dream that Mal Had. "Firefly" is the real story.
Back on topic: Let's not ever have to discuss Horizon again! It seems like every other day a new thread pops up on the dang event and it makes me sad all the "hate" that follows.

I prefer Ash and Shepard, but haven't watched Firefly in a long time, so they are not that fresh in my memory. But I think they are about equal in terms of man-like awesome flawedness.

But I figure if you wait for more than a year before checking something out, you should expect it to be spoiled for you. I'm pretty sure that's an unwritten rule or something

Yeah, but it was only a month ago that I actually saw Firefly for the first time, loved it, then bought the movie. I'm just going to forget this conversation ever occured. Fair point on the spoilers though.
