Top Ashley's grandfather
I want a DLC about this guy and his history with Cerberus.
I want to know what Ashley's relationship with her grandfather was. That has always bothered me. I'm assuming he passed away when she was a little girl.

I don't want a story with just him, but it would be nice to know Ashley's relationship with him.

Does she ever mention him?
It sounds to me like her father wasn't close with him because of... stuff, so she wouldn't be either.
Totally supposition on my part though.

Good points. She never does mention him. All she says was that he "retired" on some colony and ended up doing construction.
So if she never met him, did he pass away before she was born, or did her dad say "we don't mention that side of the family"? This is really interesting to me...

Given what happened to Papa Williams and his career, I think there's a good chance they just don't talk about that side of the family. Again, supposition.Time Laspe wrote...Good points. She never does mention him. All she says was that he "retired" on some colony and ended up doing construction.

And what ties did he have to Cerberus? I thought TIM started Cerberus...

Yea I agree with you. Because I can't see him passing away before she was born. The timeline wouldn't make sense.
TIM did start Cerebus, but I guess before he became TIM, Papa Bear Williams knew him. I don't how how that would translate to him having a hand in Cerberus.

Agreed, Ash is the oldest, it would be weird if Papa Williams died before then.Time Laspe wrote...Yea I agree with you. Because I can't see him passing away before she was born. The timeline wouldn't make sense.

In fact, I'm now head canoning one extreemly akward visit when she was four or something that she doesn't realy remember. I had one like that with my black sheep grandfather...
And how old is TIM? Jeeze, I hate it when they have tie all the characters ancestors together, it makes the universe so small. It's just like how Chewbacca had to be in Episode 3, because apparently there's only like 2 wookies in the galaxy...

Okay get out of my head. I totally headcanoned an awkward Xmas when Papa Williams shows up. Ashley is really little so she doesn't remember. The only thing she has to remember him by is the Xmas photo where she is sitting on his lap.
Damn, I'm so deep.

Since Cerberus turned rogue/was always rogue/ I doubt that General Williams would be exactly willing to let his relations/connection with Jack Harper be known. Especially given that his reputation was already soured by the Surrender at Shanxi. I doubt Ash would know of it, but it would have been nice to have some reference to it, especially during the Cerberus confrontation if you bring her along.
So true. In fact, I may just headcanon him spending his last days wallowing in self-pity and shame and he possibly drinks himself to death.
Damn, I'm so dark.

Never played the ET game. I'll take your word for it. The worst thing to happen to a video game was developers putting armor lock into Halo REACH.

I know Ashley's dad is dead, died far too early. But her grandfather? Given the fact people live well above 100 years, he could be still around. Also, I'm 30 and still have my grandparents on my paternal side, they're around eighty, alive and still very active: hiking, keeping a vegetable garden, bicycling ... totally different to my maternal grandparents which both died in their 80 as well (they were approx 10 years older than the other grandparents) and weren't able to do much in the last years.
Well, whatever. I'm sure it's stated somewhere General Williams is dead. I just missed it ^^
Didn't Ash say something like "they're both with God now"? At least she states it for her dad.
