All I want - and still want - is simply another story with Shepard 'n' co, post-war, just to see how the crew is working without that massive threat named "Reapers". Dealing with Shepard's PTSD, with rebuilding the galaxy. Brining back EDI and the Geth. Securing a fragile peace, now that everyone is finger pointing at Asari and Salarians. Something like that. Call it a "breather episode" between the first and the second trilogy. Hell, a good writer could find another story for Shepard without using another random galactic threat from outer space.

Sounds an awful lot like the final season of Babylon 5.

Which, actually, having rewatched the series recently, I can tell you I thought was rather neat and innovative. Most franchises would have ended with the defeat of the big bad and the major plot arc, but they continued for an extra season to help wrap up the character arcs and to show the impact the events of the previous seasons had on the galaxy.

The final season may not have been the best one, but I still really like the idea behind what they did.

Edit for more Ash:

Nice pic. The bullets seem out of place, though.

No need for a "perfect ending" either. I doubt there can be a perfect ending after all.

Then again, I also can accept BW doesn't want to continue Shepard's story and start something new in the ME universe. In that case, I simply want to know what did happen with him/her, the crew and the Normandy, how his/her decisions played out for the galaxy post-war and such. And then move on, give us a new Commander, a new crew, a new ship and another great story to deal with. That's all. But please, please, please, do it right this time. No badly written scenes anymore, no bad decisions called "artistic integrity". Just do it right.

I agree on this, but then again, I've always thought that Shepard's story was far from over. They could have done more with the trilogy to lay a more solid groundwork for more games. If Masterchief can have 6 games or so, so can Shepard.

I guess I just wanted more Shep and Ash.

I just wanted something with some closure in it and for me to have a choice in the matter because that was the problem in the first place. Nothing you do matters and no matter what you do you get the same shitty 3(4 if you count refusal) colors as your ending. But wheres my option? where can I save the Geth and Edi while at the same time sending the reapers to gell? in my opinion all 3 choices are crap even if 99% of the time I do pick destroy. I could have accepted an ending to which Shepard would have died and Ashley and the rest of the crew go on without him but I would accept it at the same time knowing there was a "happier" ending to which i know Shepard and Ash will be together again and settle down and start a family. My problems with the endings are mostly revolved around a lack of closure and lack of player choice in the matter.

I always give Ashley the Black Widow.

For recent playthroughs, I have been giving her the N7 typhoon for her assault rifle, She kicks sooooooooooooooooooo much ass with that. For Sniper Rifle's I too also give her one of the Widows or a rapid fire Sniper Rifle with good overall stats.

It was never the Reapers themselves that were the problem; the harvest was the problem. You can end the harvest with any of the three options.

Why does Ashley call Shepard a crappy commander? (non-romance)  Is she teasing him?

Yes she is. It is one of those teasing, light-hearted, loving jabs, whatever you want to call it. Stress relieving teasing in a relationship.

I believe that's what it is as well, even if its just for a moment.  My femshep didn't mind.

Poor James. Then again - isn't Ash into guns'n'stuff? ;)

Yeah. I think Ash and fem!Shep can get along as close friends, if the player allows it. Too bad BW didn't really implement a friendship story arc for most characters except Garrus, Liara and James.

Ashley talks about Kaidan alot, it seems like they were really close if you choose him on Virmire and vice versa. It kinda makes me wish they would of originally went with an option to where you can save them both.

After doing the Turian bomb mission, Ashley is by the memorial wall thinking about Kaidan whereas Kaidan isn't seen by the wall.

I mentioned in another thread, it would be interesting how different the trilogy would've been had either Ashley/Kaidan didn't die on Virmire

Actually, I'm dealing with that in my headcanon a bit. Both survived Virmire and they have a bit of a friendly competition - old fashioned grunt vs biotic. Not sure who'll win this, 'though. Kaidan is aware Ashley has feelings for the Commander and since he's more the regulations guy (as well as second officer on board of the Normandy, making him to her superior) he warns her it may have consequences for both. He does not disapprove it on a personal level 'though.

In the long run they're great friends and help each other out. For instance, if Ash gets hurt on Mars, Kaidan decides to stay with her on the Citadel, since Shepard has to save the galaxy. Also Kaidan is the guy who urges her to think about Udina's offer to become a Spectre. And it is Kaidan who is able to talk her down in the coup scene, if Shepard can't. So yeah, they're great friends in my headcanon.

Could you see Kaidan and Ashley becoming a couple if Shepard is in another relationship?

If. ;)

But yeah, why not. I'm playing with the thought Ash and Kaidan had something when both thought Shepard was dead (although I'd love to dismiss this entire dead-part completely) - although in this idea, they broke up after a year or so, mostly because they both felt guilty or something.

If Shep is in a relationship with someone else, things would be different and Ash/Kaidan may end with each other permanently.

Nice Ash pics up there :D

Data-

I cannot tweak the story that much, to come up with a way to save both Ash and Kaidan. If there was already that option there, I could come with some way to do it. But I also think that you need to leave hard choices like that there, otherwise it takes some feeling out of the story. Sometimes there is just no other option.

(I am interested in how you did it. Leave some Salarians? Wrex? Another crewmember? Luck?)

But if there were a way, I could see Ash and Kaidan (Or James in ME3) being very close friends but not much more. I see Shep as the one exception that Ash would make to having a romantic relationship with someone serving in the same command structure.

That's a bit complicated: time is short, Shepard has to decide for one. Easiest way is to give Shepard a tad more time so he can save Ashley and still has enough time to return to Kaidan. Another idea is to use some tech: why the heck is it needed to guard the bomb at all? Because there's a timer and the Geth could hack it back? Hmm, why not using a remote control? Shouldn't be too hard, especially since you've got those Salarians to help you with their tech ...

So either it's a really fast Shepard - or a really smart one. I pick the smart guy. :)

I gotcha. I had toyed with the idea before and it does make sense. I also "like(?)" the impossible decision. Something along what you do should have been an option, based on Tech skills and/ or Paragon/ Renegade rating.

For me loosing Kaidan is a turning point for Shep. Never again, not if there is another way. (Mordin...) It changes how he makes decisions, and why he chooses to continue to lead from the front and put himself in suicidal situtaions, rather than his crew.

Question, does it just mod her hair or does it also change her uniform?

I've actually never minded Ash's special uniform. In my head canon, it's unique to her branch of the Alliance special forces.
