Wow, that's a nice hair style in those pictures von uber. Is that from a mod, if so I would totally use it.

This is the downside to being on Xbox, no mods. I thought about getting everything for the PC to get a few mods and max the graphics, but I cannot really justify it since I already have everything on the Xbox.

I read in a magazine that Mass Effect Next (or whatever it's called) is only being developed for XBox and Play Station.
I'm sure that must be a mistake, given that ME2 and ME3 were released for PC from day one. Has anyone heard that it's not being developed for the PC, though?
EDIT: You know what? I'm 99% sure it was probably a magazine devoted to console gaming, and probably didn't mention that it was also being developed for the PC for that reason.

Nah, never heard 'bout that. Except "Mass Effect Next" is something entirely new and not related to "Mass Effect 4".
Besides that: they tried it once, but ME -really- became famous after it hit the PC. XBox360-only and it wouldn't have its fandom.

I agree, the PC fanbase is still enormous. Yes, consoles are more "popular" or talked about, but there are a lot of things you can only do with a game on a PC.
Anyway, it is 0725. Ash and I need more coffee.
(Just thought I would try and kickstart this again, been dead for a few days.)

I'm doing a replay of ME3 now, first time with the Mehem mod, and apart from that mod I'm again noticing how much more they could have done with the Shep-Ash romance.
You get to invite almost every crew member apart from Ashley. Was it that hard to include her there? A short conversation about the past and present or a love scene, something at least. And that auto dialogue crap, meh.

I'm somewhat bothered by the fact that we don't have her for half the game. I do like the effect that having a loved one in the hospital had on the first half of the game... But she wasn't a squaddie in ME2, and I feel like she should have been on the squad for the whole thing in ME3 to make up for it.
That said, not being able to invite her to the apartment in the Citadel is what really gets me. We just have that bar scene, which is "meh," but with Liara, who my Shepard has never showed any interest in, we have a whole thing at the apartment.
Aside from the ending, I do really like ME3 as a whole. There's still a lot of lost potential, there, though, and so much I would have done differently. I probably would have had Miranda on Mars, instead of Liara. Miranda and Ash would both be squadmates, and you'd pick Liara up at the Shadow Broker base later.
I remember a line from the Shadow Broker DLC about what would happen if the engines stopped and it crashed into the planet. That always felt like foreshadowing to me. In my mind, the mission would involve getting to the base at about the same time as Cerberus, getting Liara and Feron out, and sabotaging the base to crash it into the planet.

Having finished ME 3 again today, this time with the Mehem mod, after a long time (over a year probably), I agree DWH1982, as far as the Ash content goes. The Mehem mod is nice, being reunited with Ashley and being more consistent ending wise.
It was weird knowing that you wouldn't get many moments with her playing it all over, although I did enjoy them again, but there is a lot of room for improvement there.
The drunk scene on the Normandy never ceases to annoy me, it's so out of character. But it's mostly the lack of interaction throughout the game, apart from the silly auto dialogue. I do hope that Bioware realises you don't always have to make long cutscenes to get a message across. Sometimes a single sentence or email can do wonders.
I remember a scene from my playthrough today during the assault on Cerberus HQ where Shepard watches the videos from Cerberus about reconstructing him and Ash says that no matter what people may think (something along those lines), this is the real Shepard. It's all in the details.
More of that, it's almost like marriage, a simple 'I love you/appreciate you' goes a long way.
They go out of their way to make it so that different squadmates say different things during certain conversations, and they don't pay enough attention to LI dialogue. Might be me, but I'm a sucker for detail.
Anyway, ME 3 was good, better than I remembered it from my previous two plays. A lot of good stuff and the Mehem mod definitely helped a great deal this playthrough. I can't really decide which game is best though, all have good things. For me it was always the total experience, although if I would have to pick, probably ME3. The Citadel dlc plays a big part in that, really loved the concept. Despite the lack of Ash content.
Next stop, Mehem and then Citadel. That will probably be it then for me, until ME5 ![]()

I agree with both DWH1982 and Gkonone. I really like ME3, even before EC. I would have liked more LI content, as everyone says, especially with Citadel DLC.
As for favorite? Uh...can I call it equal?
ME- had great character development (Ash) and introduces you to the entire series, all the customization
ME2- much better combat/ power system compared to ME1, the refined " paragon/ renegade and how much squadmates trust you can change outcomes" was nice
ME3- seeing the story reach its end (for now), the goodbyes, COOP/ MP

I know the question "Where did the picture of Ashley on Shepard's desk in ME2 come from?" has been asked before. But I don't think it has been answered. (Not that I have seen anyway.)
I was playing through ME1 earlier and noticed that Squad Selection screen. Ashley in that picture looks nearly the same as in the picture on Shepard's desk. I think that they used it because you normally cannot see the squadmates faces on that screen very clearly, and few people pay attention to that screen anyway.

One possible explanation is that Kelly (or someone else with Cerberus) put it there. I always assumed this on the notion that Cerberus wanted Shepard to feel at home on the SR-2. The thing is... does that make much sense? Cerberus also wanted to drive a wedge between Shepard and the Alliance. I think they probably would have preferred him to move on to someone else, preferably someone in Cerberus, like Miranda or Kelly, rather than continuing to hold on to something that keeps him connected to his former life. Right?
Another possibility: Shepard had some down time on that Cerberus station before the SR-2 was completely up and running, and he pulled a picture of Ash off the extranet, either from a news site or a picture of his own that was on a personal storage site that he still had access to. It was then sent to his cabin in advance.
EDIT: It occurs to me that you probably meant "where did the design team get that picture of Ash." In that case, never mind.

I did mean where the picture itself came from. But that is alright, sometimes I word things a little odd.
As for being on the desk; I just go with Shepard put it there, like you said.

This is a panel recording I found while trying to dig some new Mass Effect info on the San Diego one. It has Mark Meer, Raphael Sbarge and Kimberly Brooks in it, and there are a few really funny moments. They mentioned a few anecdotes while recording for their Shepard, Alenko and Williams roles.
It's nice to read and follow this group, despite not logging in as frequently as in the past.

I wouldn't put it past cerberus to have planted a picture there...with a bug!
Think about it: a picture of the one person Shepard has an intense emotional connection to..it would make it one of the least likely images to be thrown out. It's either that a picture of TIM's smiling mug

That's... really creepy. And something I wouldn't put past Cerberus. It would explain why the picture's not there anymore in ME3 (though, I always assumed Shepard took it with him and it was left behind in his living space on Earth when the Reapers invaded).
I always wondered how Ash knows if Shepard "strays" with someone else. A really devastating explanation would be that Cerberus had some sort of recording device in Shepard's quarters, and they sent Ash "evidence" at some point after ME2, as a way to further alienate them from each other. Somehow it would make it worse if the device were hidden in Ash's picture.

I'm actually quite pleased that the Mako will be returning. I'm just somewhat worried about what they're going to do with the rest of the game. Does "a new region of space" mean that there will be limited connection to the ME universe we've grown to love?

They might be talking about an un-explored region of the galaxy; remember the codex states that only ~1% of the galaxy has been explored, to say nothing of the number of dormant relays.

Loved the mako, always thought the mechanics and physics for it were hilarious.
And found out the game is suppose to be set enduring Shepard's lifetime, I don't really see the point of setting it in the same lifetime as Shepard. Because you might as well play as him.
And my kid is finally walking, (I wish she could go back to being still, could keep up with her then)

Kudos to your daughter. always a fun time that.

Well...the dark matter script with Haestrom's sun was a thing that was supposed to be occurring during Shepard's lifetime. there may be a new protagonist that we play as that has to deal with that end of the story. because iirc we never hear what happens with that....so idk...
in that aspect though. we may be facing all our old enemies in one, from the vorcha to the collectors and even the reapers. I mean it goes to speculate that if its during Shepard's lifetime why wont the antagonists of that period be in the new game as well?
there may also be new antagonists, more rachni stuff. idk...

how I wish the leviathans were more important in ME3. they seemed like the epitome of "War Assets" in that they gave me the idea that they were the only ones who could actually defeat the reapers (i.e. if the reapers were actually a sentient race not controlled by star-child)
at least we had some Ash dialogue in that DLC though. yesh!
