I'm afraid the forum has been dead again lately. 

 

The upcoming weekend is a three day holiday weekend in the U.S. (Labor Day). Anyone have any thoughts on what a three day weekend would be like at the Shepard-Williams household?

 

They seem like they'd both enjoy recreation that's physical or outdoor. Maybe a hike, or rock climbing, or a camping trip?

I would imagine them doing that yes, and afterwards perhaps a bar, or just an evening on the couch, reminiscing. Perhaps someone here could come up with a conversation between the two of them, just relaxing on a couch. CptData made some nice convo's.

 

ME3 is 2012, so it's quite amazing people still frequent the forums I'd say.

I'm not doing much ME related but I do keep track of news on the forums and this thread.

I completely agree with them doing something physical/ outdoors, then spending the rest of the day relaxing a bit. (You know, friendly challenges at the weapons range.)

For a convo between them, CptData or Auruora313 are probably the best. But as you said this section is very slow.

 

And I was never really able to get into the DA forum section. I have ventured there a few times to keep up with some of the rumors/ gossip/ whatever, but have never really gotten into it. Even through I do enjoy the DA games, I have just always been more comfortable with ME, even if the most recent is now a little over two years old.

I love Ashley! The hardnosed woman who always kept my Shepard in check. It was heartbreaking to see her reaction when I she found out that I cheated her. I spent the rest of the game trying to gain back her trust.

Er no, just screengrabs from my most recent ME3 playthrough. Purely generated by the game engine. There are high res texture mods, and Ash is modded to, but apart from that it's just a screengrab.

The worst part about Mass Effect? It ended. Sure, ME4 is going to start another trilogy, 'though not with Shepard and most likely not even close his/her timeline. In worst case, it's going to be some sort of "parallel universum reboot" having nothing to do at all with Shepard.

I do as well, though I won't make any bets.

 

My speculation

Is that the next game won't make any reference to the characters in the trilogy. It leaves for the characters to continue there own story without conflicting with anything.

 

The extended cut did nothing to change the breath scene and the one more story scene. It gives Bioware a way to bring Shepard back, if they choose.

 

Shepard had no closure to his/her story. Having Shepard in another game would, if Bioware chose to, give closure to his/her story.

 

With the next game being released in 2016(my guess), the next ME(5) game could release in 2018/2019 giving Bioware 6 -7 years to come up with new missions and content for Shepard.

 

Just to say again. This is just speculation on my part.

Tbh, I can't see BW changing its "no-more-Shepard-policy" anytime soon. My biggest hope is a reboot of the original series - returning to Shepard's story, fixing several issues in the plot, changing the general approach in some fields, adding more and better character interactions and such. For that, I have a quite complete idea in my mind, maybe I'll add it one day to this forums.

 

But for now, Shepard's story is told and unless BW plans to reboot the series, we won't see anything new for him/her.

I like this mod

 

My replay is a bit ... complicated. ME1 has a tendency to crash under Win7 and I have no idea how to fix it (yes, running in admin mode, no, compatibility mode won't work. It's the DRM issue I guess). However, I want to do one more playthrough before I go into details with my "fictional ME reboot" project I have in my mind.

 

Does anyone know if MEHEM is going to see another patch, by the way?

When I installed the Mehem mod about 2 months ago they did mention that they were still working on updates. Best bet is to ask in the thread about the mod though, they may have reconsidered.

I will say that for me it changed how I felt about ME3. I enjoy playing it again as I hated the original/extended cut endings.

Downside to being a 360 player, no mods. I would like to try some, but it is not going to happen.

 

On the topic of the ending; while it was not exactly what I was expecting, I was still okay with it. I saw it as a chance to fill in the "end of Shepard's story" myself. The way I see it Bioware was almost in a no win position: Too narrow and people will be upset because "this or that was not what I wanted." Too broad/ vague (what we got) and people complain that there was not enough definitive answers. Just my opinion, but it is over and done with and we have the next ME to look forward too.

Cheers - they are all generated by the game, doesn't look to bad for a two year old title (if heavily modded with better textures).

 

Ash does tend to pull off some awesome poses though.

Well it appears we may be getting the ME triliogy for the Ps4 and Xbox one. If they are remastering them it would be nice if all that cut Ashley content found it's way  back into ME3!

That would be nice to get them remastered for the One and PS4, like we are getting for Halo. I would get it to experience it with the new graphics. I would not get my hopes up about getting cut content, it would be nice though.
