Whelp, looks like we're off to the Andromeda Galaxy.

I'm sure I'll play it and I'm sure I'll have fun.

It's not the direction I wanted for the next game, though. I'm shocked by how disappointed I was to find out that the leak was true. I pretty much knew it was coming.

I guess Holiday 2016 is enough time to get used to the idea. Especially since that probably means it won't be released until March or April 2017.

Not really following the latest developments, but what are you mostly disappointed by?

Honestly, ME:A is at the bottom of my E3 favorites list. This year was awsome. Fallout 4, Final fantasy VII remake, and Star Wars battlefront all blew me away and Horizon and uncharted looked cool aswell.

Plus the N7 walk away from the Galaxy map felt like a low blow. I thought it was funny the crowds reaction to EA's overall presentation, lol you can tell gamers hadn't forgiven or forgoten all the **** they've pulled.

It's not the setting I wanted. I'm afraid it will feel like Mass Effect disconnected from Mass Effect.

Guessing none of you read the blog bioware released about the game then, the people featured in the trailer aren't even the protagonist. Don't waste resources and money on something like that, it's a waste of time and effort for the people that worked on that.

Wow, really? That's weird -- why show an N7 marine like that if he's not the main charecter? Anyway, ME:A is not a huge priority for me right now; there are so many epic games comeing I'll probably just pick it up to keep busy until the Final fantasy VII remake gets here.

Also, looks like we aren't getting a ME trilogy remaster after all.

I don't mind not getting a remastered trilogy. I can still play the originals whenever I want, and their graphics aren't that bad, at least on a PC.

Anyway, I don't believe they ruled it out forever, they just said they're not doing it right now. Perhaps they'll do that after ME:A.

My main hope for the trilogy remaster was that the flaws of the series would get tweaks. But now I'm not even going to wait for it. Anybody saw something from E3 that caught their eye?

It would be nice for the bugs in the "date" conversation in ME3 to be ironed out. Like I said, though, maybe after ME:A. To be honest, that might make a little more sense, since it really hasn't been that long since ME3 and the graphics, I feel, are still quite good. After a few extra years, it will make sense for all 3 games to be remastered.

As for E3 - I'm interested in Mankind Divided (I think they had something on that there, right? - I didn't follow it that much, just the ME news), especially since I played Human Revolution for the first time only a few months back. I wish it were coming out now.

Also, just so there's some Ash on this page:

Yeah they showed some Deus Ex. I've never played that serise though, I remember people saying ME3's ending was a rip-off of one of them. For me - E3 was heaven this year; FFVII remake, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Metal Gear Solid V, and Uncharted 4 are all games I'm going to be playing Day 1.

The ME3 endings were somewhat similar to how the endings in all three of the Deus Ex games have been handled: You have 3-4 choices that fundamentally change/reshape the world. I think most people compare the ME3 endings to the ones in Human Revolution, though, probably because there are a lot of people right now who never played the first two DE games (they're not ancient, like I am).

As much as I enjoyed Human Revolution, the endings weren't as good as the ones in the original Deus Ex.

They were at least passable, though, unlike the endings in ME3, which I did not think were very good. I know there are arguments about consistency, story, etc, but to me the bottom line is that they just didn't "feel like Mass Effect." The other two games had kick ass endings that made me feel good. It was one of the things I liked about them. It fit the series, which I always felt was, in part, something of a nod to the corny action movies (sometimes sci-fi, sometimes not) that come out over the summer. The ME3 endings were way far off the mark.

ME3 original endings were stupid - limited payoff, new characters at the last second and some serious lore contradictions.

ME3 new endings - Much better. They gave a little bit more context to the consequences of your choices (i.e. Wrex or Wreav as leader) and they did give some payoff (having Hacket narrate them may have been one of their better choices)

The one thing that still nags me: the Earth missions. They could have been a bit more like the Collector Base missions, in which we see our consequences in a more visceral manner, but I guess at some point the budget ran out.

To be honest, I believe that ME3 suffered from then EA leadership, which had the habit of spreading their talent thin (DA, TOR, ME, MOH, etc...) and as a result their games suffered a bit for it.

Eh. The extended cut endings are better than the original endings, but that's not saying much. The main difference is that they leave me slightly less depressed. But they still don't "feel" like a Mass Effect ending to me.

I would say the biggest enemy ME3 faced was time. Had more time been given, the game might be different from what it is now.

See, I thought it was decision making more than anything else. Time does not matter, you can delay the release like they did.

No, I think time was a factor. They already delayed once. I think there was pressure for them to get it out the door.

You are right, though, decision making also plays a role. I imagine there are lots of things that would be different if it could have had a longer development. But, on the other hand, the development cycle has to end eventually, and we could probably say the same thing about all or most games. Some things - like the endings - were a conscious decision. Maybe extra time could have made Priority Earth a little better, but there were different ways they could have handled the final decisions and outcomes, even accounting for time limitations.

I had a good giggle the other day, was reading a hilarious fanfiction when Shepard went to the Andromeda motel. Hahahaha, I thought it was funny. Person wrote the next game title without even realising it would eventually become that lol, but it is my sense of humour.

Also, Chapter 29 of my fanfiction is up \/\/\/\/ link is below.

PC Gamer has Ash on their "most annoying characters" list.

Nothing new. Ashley is just a character that's too deep for alot of gamers. Most of the Mass Effect fandom is a brain dead horde anyway -- I don't really take much of it seriously.

Ashley isn't that deep and it doesn't take any more intelligence to understand or like her than it does any other character.

The above is also true of every other squadmate.

The person who came up with that list just has a difference opinion. He is wrong though about Ashley being a racist.

Deeper than ME1 Tali whose just a codex with a funny accent or Grunt whose just one huge Krogan sterotype. "Rarrrr, I like kiling things"! "Blah Blah Conclave, Blah Blah Pilgrimage." I've had more than enough experiences with the Mass Effect fandom to inform my perspective. In general they are stupid overly emotional babies who are appearntly incapable of critical thinking or logical reasoning. It's all about Liars's blue ****** and bro fisting Garrus. Any charecter that shares a different view of the player and isn't an alien is shitted on.

I disagree. The mere fact that there is so much unfounded hate for Ashley proves a lot of people don't understand her character. They see one remark 'I sometimes can't tell the aliens from the animals' , they see her attacking Wrex on Virmire, her religious believes, her distrust towards aliens, or her questioning of Shepard on several occassions.

What they don't see is her backstory, how she became the woman you meet for the first time on Virmire, the context in which certain comments were made, the fact that she goes through a transition, one Shepard can greatly influence. To me, what makes Ashley interesting is that she's arguably the most real person of all the squadmembers. She has her flaws and made her mistakes but she has also shown that she has learned from them and can grow as a person. She's a very caring person but it takes her time to let her guard down, and that is something you also see her go through over the course of the games.

With Andromeda confirmed, that probably means we won't see Ash again.

In a way, it's a blessing and a curse. A curse because there (most likely) won't be any new content for my favorite character in the franchise, and because I am not sure I will like any of the new characters as much. A blessing because maybe if I do have a favorite character in Andromeda, it won't be one as disliked by the rest of the fan base.
