What?

There is no top or bottom that appears when first facing Ashley/Kaidan.  The interrupt just appears. Watch your video you posted to see that no top or bottom appear for an interrupt to happen

Wtf are you talking about? It is right there, 47 seconds in.

No kidding the interrupt is there. Never said it wasn't. You're the one saying there is a top option to get a paragon interrupt and a bottom option for the renegade interrupt. Here's what you posted.

No! Not the interrupt, the dialogue option that triggers it. Did you bother even going back to the video before replying? Shepard picked the paragon "Stay calm" option that triggered the paragon interrupt.

I did overlook that. My bad. Still the interrupt was not used.

Ok. Can you answer my Tali romance question though. Or do you not know?

I feel much better choosing Ash as my "Canon" Shepard's romance. She is a great character. I love the connection Shepard and Ash have starting with ME1.

Agreed. Though I do believe that Ashley is the ME-equivalent of marmite. You either love it or hate it.

BTW: Getting these preview images done is a pain in the ass. Trying to get the poses exact can be frustrating process. At some point, you reach the "f*ck it" stage and just decide to slap something on.

Anyone seen Voltron: Legendary Defender? Somewhat impressed with Kimberly Brooks' RP accent. I hope she do more voiced roles in Bioware games, ME3 barely do her justice.

I checked it out briefly just to hear her voice in it. Was surprised when she started talking, the accent was a refreshing change. I was bummed when she got replaced in Arkham Knight.

Just because you ignore Ashley by not talking to her in the hospital doesn't mean she will be shot. She can still survive the confrontation. I've done it. Since you don't talk to her, she will not join Shepard on the Normandy no matter what.

Just got to this point in my current playthrough and you are 100% right. Ashley can still be talked down, but only if you take the interrupt. What is interesting is that she does not side against Udina, but is willing to call the Salarian councilor for confirmation. I wonder what she says if the councilor gets killed. She also cannot be recruited because that paragon persuasion option is removed.

One thing that has always bothered me about this arc is how much of a Ashley apologist you have to be at times. If you are forced to kill her, you defend her choice. If she refuses to rejoin, you defend it. Only Joker gets upset over the latter.

Lately I've been on Twitch a lot, it's a website where people stream their games. There's a Mass Effect section, and it just amazes me how much hate there is for Ash. It's very rare to find someone that uses her.

Oh well. I almost feel like streaming a playthrough with her, but I've done enough playthroughs. What mostly still bewilders me is how people can't see how she's one of the most interesting characters in the trilogy.

Haha, I actually never romanced any of the aliens either. Mostly because of Ashley, but I found Liara very forced upon the player by Bioware (hey, have an alien, because this is a sci-fi game), she's to clingy for my taste, and Tali is just a little sister.

@Gkonone

- At this point, I'd say Ashley is like Marmite: you either love her or hate her. (BTW: I used to stay away from marmite, due to all the controversy surrounding it, but after trying it with sliced bread and margarine, its actually quite good!)

- I did execute a Tali romance, though this was with a ME2 run start (I was introduced to the series, via ME2. I later went back, bought ME1 which introduced me to Ash and made her my 'canon' romance). Without ME1, Tali loses the 'little-sister' vibe. It also removes the context that she is barely out of her teens by ME2.

Yeah, it's a shame really. She's open and direct, she's not perfect but who is? Her distrust, her doubts and (religious) believes, they make her all very human. It's one of the reasons I was instantly attracted to her. She not the perfect companion that will agree with whatever Shepard says or does, but the series have shown she is open to new ideas and willing to adept and learn. Yet at the same time, despite all that has happened, she still has her doubts about Shepard and the world, that makes her very human as well.

Cerberus is one of the most awful organisations in the galaxy, so no hard feelings about the Horizon encounter in ME2. That's just bad story telling. They should have given Shepard more options to explain and redeem himself. I guess they didn't want any Ashley or Kaidan in ME2.

She's a hard nut to crack, but worth it.

One of the most interesting and real characters in the series, that got shafted in ME2, and to some extent in ME3.

I do agree on Tali, she matured a lot in ME2. Maybe I should try to romance her, but I'm a bit done with the series now. And I know that if I ever replay it again, Ash is too tempting.

Well, I guess as of August 26, we're done for. I know I didn't post much anymore, but I still used to check in from time to time.

It's been nice to be able to interact with other Ash fans. I honestly think Bioware is making a mistake with this move, that they should be doing everything to help their fans form communities. But, as with the ME3 ending, I don't think we can do a whole lot to change their direction. Best of luck to everyone, and I really hope we see Ash in another game someday.

I was about to post here, then I saw DWH did it much more quickly. The Ash related group from the previous and current forums, this thread and the Twitter post threads for DA:I and ME Andromeda were the only ones I was following. Sincerely, going through countless threads about hairstyles and romances to find an iota of good Mass Effect discussion was tiresome, but it was generally great over here in the Ash thread or within some very on-topic threads (such as the nature of the Reapers, discussions about the Catalyst, transhumanism as a science fiction theme, etc).

I remember finishing ME 3 in early 2014, and coming to the forums to seek out explanations and a venue to share Mass Effect experiences with mature players, and you guys over here rocked. Guys like survivor_686 encouraged me to write a little bit of ME fanfic, which was a first for me. DWH, Cpt. Data, Kalikillic, Gnokone, The Mike Fest, Rzibara, and many others (sorry, it'd be a long list), it was such a pleasure to read these guys.

I don't use Twitter, tumblr or any of these social media Conal Pierse was pointing to. I liked checking the twitter thread for quick tidbits about Andromeda and the occasional game art that would be shared. It was something that you could read in 5 minutes, while drinking your first morning coffee. I hope there's an alternative in the works for that kind of quick info, without having to go through weirdo/fetishism posts ;)

I don't feel like Twitter, Facebook, etc., create as much as a sense of community as forums do. The Ash forum here felt like a "home" for Ash fans, just as the Mass Effect forums felt like a larger home for ME fans.

Perhaps others feel that through other forms of social media, but I do not. There is a Facebook page for Ash that I visit from time to time, but not much in the way of discussion. I feel the same way about the ME Facebook page.

Do any other major game developers not have forums? I thought they were pretty standard. The folks developing the new Master of Orion game certainly have them, and so do the folks that made Wasteland 2.

As I said, though, I don't think Bioware will change their mind. As much as this can feel like home, the atmosphere can also become poisonous from time to time, when people disagree. While I continue to think that they didn't handle the ME3 ending well, I now admit that there was quite a bit the fans also didn't handle as well as we should have. Perhaps that factored into their decision.

Sup fellow Ashaholics!

It's a real bummer that they are closing the BSN down but even more of a shame that all of this will disappear into the ether.  Anyone working to back up some of these threads to a private server?  I'm gonna try and do that with some of my posts at least.

It's a small sentiment, i know, but i have a lot of fond memories on these forums that i don't want to loose.

P.S. If anyone wants to stay in touch, you can find me as Jedted on Origin, Steam, XBL and PSN.

I joined that one, as well as this one. Two slightly different groups, but both sites have Ash threads; which is nice.
