If we want to go there, elves aren't based in reality either, and in fact most of those elves in-game we've seen who acknowledge their sexuality somehow have been bisexual. Bisexuality seems to be a common trait among elves. So the only issues of reality would be with the humans, and that's still only two bisexual human LIs.The DA2 forums will suffice.

That's not where I was going. It's about the a/b convo analogy that I posted.Xilizhra wrote...

Have a good weekend, and I don't mean that sarcastically.

Your counter is basically coming down to an ad hominem.
On the contrary, I don't have to claim or prove anything. The writers didn't write Ash as bisexual. That's all the proof that is needed. If she was bisexual in ME1, then she would have been romanceable by FemShep, in ME1. It's as simple as that. You know it and I know it.jlb524 wrote...
They don't have to announce it.
If you claim, 'Ash is heterosexual' meaning 'not bisexual' you have to show proof of this if you want to argue against the possibility of the writers creating a f/f romance for her in ME3.
The only thing that can be proven is that she likes men, which makes her either heterosexual or bisexual. That's all we know at this point. You assume she's heterosexual when we don't really know her opinions on females.
There is no need to convolute it. You want her to be bisexual and romanceable to FemShep. You also want the rest of the LIs to be bisexual as well, I assume? So much for this whole debate, then. That pretty much makes all of this academic, doesn't it?
True.jlb524 wrote...
She could be, logically. If BW chooses, they can still depict her as such in ME3 and not be changing the character.
You assume that I'm ignorant to sexuality.jlb524 wrote...
You assume sexuality (both public and/or private) doesn't change.
The 'not romanceable by either gender' is also a meta- argument. In universe, Ashley never shows interest in men (I only play as FemShep).
It's a meta argument, assuming that Shep A would be totally obvlivious to it otherwise, but that isn't a given.
Further discussion will probably just be circular. If you want to respond, then fine, but I'm done for now. Have a good weekend.

I don't know it. You say 'the writers didn't write her as bisexual before' which is your meta-game argument for why Ashley isn't bisexual in universe and it's your argument for why she could never be bisexual.
The writers didn't write Garrus as potentially attracted to humans in ME1 but did in ME2. I don't see an issue here. The writers can change their minds about characters (they decided they wanted Ash to be a Spectre in ME3...she wasn't before)...if they want Ashley to be an f/f romance option for whatever reason, I am saying they can pull it off without ruining her character as she has not been established as 'not bisexual' in universe.

Your point? Again, another ad hominem. I'm not sure why my motivations should be brought up in this debate.

I'm only arguing from in universe. You keep bringing up these meta-points for some reason.

in universe, Ashley sent a letter to her sister discussing attractive men. in universe even with femshep, Ashley is attracted to men. not to mention that note from her sister about Kaidan being cute, I doubt her sister would have mentioned it if she knew that Ash didn't like men. Ash seems to be very close to her sisters.
http://masseffect.wi...com/wiki/Ashley scroll down a bit, its right before ME2 section. yes, its official. what I like about that letter is how it foreshadows Virmire.

"I hope I never have to decide who lives and who dies. But if I have to, my decision can't be muddled up by magic-sparkly-hearts-and-stars feelings."
LOL ... my Virmire decision was based on those exact "magic-sparkly-hearts-and-stars" feelings!
That and um... I had to uh... make sure the bomb went off... erm.. yeah. Totally.

Plus who's to say her feelings don't change? It's been two years, I was attracted to females before males, does that make me not bi? I know plenty of women who dated men first but then became lesbian or bi, it happens. That letter does not make anything offical, other then the fact she had a crush on someone.ADLegend21 wrote...

P.S. I don't know about other siblings, but I'm pretty open with my sister. I just cannot see Ash being afraid to tell her sister that she might like girls as well as boys, I cannot see her being close to someone who doesn't accept her just as she is.

Anyway, I have been trying to get into the discussion, realizing I don't care anymore, I am just waiting for the game to come out and see what happens/what Bioware decided...
edit: Oh this is the Ash thread, quick something ashley:

All other contexts aside (which I think we've all discussed in circles by now) this is a totally accurate quote. I think Ash is a very "take me as I am" kind of person. But I also think she's difficult to get close to. I don't think she particularly likes feeling vulnerable so her humor and toughness and other defense mechanisms make it sort of a gauntlet for people trying to be let in. It reminds me of Jack a little bit but to a much lesser degree. Ash makes it difficult for people to get close in order to let only the really special ones get close - the ones that won't hurt her.
Ash is a feeler. She's hot headed, passionate, opinionated. She's reactive and I feel like her feelings can be hurt easily even if you would never know it.

also,Thoughts on "Assasin" Ashley?
I have thoughts on her being something similar to a 'Ghost' from the Starcraft universe. Without the psonic powers, mindcontrol/mindwipes and serving as attack dogs for a madman of course... although if Shepard still has some semblence of sanity after the ME series is finished I'll be bloody amazed.

I just don't understand why to argue. If someone likes playing Fem+Fem, he (she) plays this way, someone dislikes, he-she plays other way. It doesn't depend on will devs unlock F+F option in game or they won't, it depend on players style and preferences. Many men, many minds.
