As of that pic... he hasn't made a move yet... and plus Ash is drunk. (In my head) Hard to hold that against him. (though, I'm sure he'd love to hold her against him... )

It's pretty funny this shows up here, considering we were discussing the odds of an Ash/Kaidan relationship on the Kaidan thread last night.

My thoughts:

Kaidan and Ash strike me as a good romantic match, but one that wouldn't ever happen even without Virmire. I think they're both too cautious to enter into a relationship, without prodding by someone. Especially one that could jeopardize their military careers.

And then this happened:

I see booze being involved

*In bed, the morning after*
Ash: Ugh... I'm never drinking again... *starts to open eyes* Nope. Calling a do-over on today. *rolls over in bed*
Kaidan: Your hand's in my face.
Ash: Oh, no. Sh*t. Who? *opens eyes* ****.
Kaidan: Yeah.

*later*
Kaidan: Williams, can we talk?
Ash: Sure, LT, whatya need?
Kaidan: We need to talk about last night.
Ash: Oh. Right. Last night... well, I... Lord, strike me down now.
Kaidan: Look, Ash, let's be honest. Last night never would have happened if we were sober.
Ash: Agreed.
Kaidan: But I don't think it would've happened if we didn't feel something, either.
Ash: LT, I-
Kaidan: Before you say anything, let me finish. If you want to chalk this up to the drinks, that's fine with me. It was a stupid mistake between friends. We'll laugh about it in a while. But if you want this to mean something, if you want to give this a try, I'm willing.
Ash: I... I think I'd like that... Kaidan.
