It's not a dislike it's a concern for letting them around the vital systems of a human warship but that's a fair assessment of the other characters to points for not bashing.

since it's being discussed in the Kaidan thread, who's the best third squadmate to go with Shepard and Ashley?

For my Adept MShep it'd be either Legion or Tali so that the team can have a pure biotic, pure combat, and a pure tech for an all around beatdown with every type of power. plus with Legion's sniping skills Ashley can use all her weapons and not be stuck abck all the time as my sniper, maybe run into the enemy with her shotgun >

If there originally was a dialogue option "I tried to find you!" after Ash claims Shep didn't, I'd forgive devs for all this Horizon scene. But no is no, so I'm still frustrated and I'll be good only when my Shep resumes his romance in ME3.

I'd say do what Gilsa said in the Kaidan thread. Take the inventigative lines about cerberus and use those and avoid the emotional part of that where shepard gets called a traitor, that should do it.

Shepard acted like an unemotional jerk that's what was wrong with Horizon. He stood there like a plank "I don't want to re-open old wounds."

Really Shepard? That's what you say to the woman who mourned you for two years? Wow. No wonder she walked away.

.....So don't do that. How about showing a little tenderness?

Yes that is an important point, Shepard stood there almost like he didn't care. Also, I don't mind it being a bit of row, like couples do, but it wasn't all that emotional, which it should've been. I would suggest a longer convo...giving both of them more time to explain themselves (and if it fits into your story...I would make Shepard less of a Cerberus fan.)

Good luck, the dialogue on Horizon was a mess.

Ashley: Why didn't you try to contact me? Why didn't you let me know you were alive?
Shepard: Not my choice. I spent the past 2 years in some kind of coma while Cerberus rebuilt me.

Wtf? Yeah, don't even mention that you were basically DEAD, you freakin' dummy... AND drop the Cerberus bomb on her with the second thing you say to her. Nice one.

What might as well have been said: I totally would have, Ash, but when I asked about you, Anderson stonewalled me and the game parameters won't allow me to send e-mails to people. Also, I'm having this weird mental block that's preventing me from explaining my stance in a detailed and understandable way. So sorry, but I guess you're just not supposed to be like me in this scene nor be on my squad in this game... see you again in the next game, hopefully!

Anyway, I'm confident that Bioware will fix this in ME3. Can't wait to see it!

That'd be a real nice assignment for a Spectre. It would tie up that loose end nicely if you let him go.

So considering that the time between ME2 and ME3 isn't likely to be years (I get the impression ME3 is pretty much a direct sequel), is Horizon a trial mission for Ash/Kaidan? My guess is that it was probably the last, or one of the last missions they did before becoming a full-fledged Spectre.

ME3 start's 6 months after ME2's ending. since the Repaers have to travel by FTL again becausse the Alpha Relay is destroyed it takes months to get to Earth and the Charon Relay. I think Horizon is the VS's first mission as a Spectre, like how Shepard's was a shakedown run on the Normandy that turned into colony defense. Since then I think the VS might have been given aship similar to how Shepard was and gone on various missions with a new crew and such and had several epic missions that earned them the respect of the brass and the council while they were agnoizing over Shepard being with Cerberus. The galaxy does move without Shepard in it and I think the VS has stepped into their own spotlight. I hope there's a scenario where Shepard gets saved by the playable VS. That'll make the game for me.

@ADLegend: Ah. I couldn't remember hearing a definitive timeframe between the two, but that sounds about right. I'd love to know more about the VS's jobs as a Spectre. In general, I'd like to see more of what a "typical" Spectre's life is like. Not that I expect it in ME3 (maybe in whatever comes afterwards).

And yes, that would be all kinds of awesome.

Edit: The CIA Jawbreaker team that was the first American presence in Afghanistan after 9/11 brought dry ice with them so they could mail bin Laden's head back to Langley.

Writers have said ashley and Kaidan will wtell Shepard what they've been up to in the past 3 years so I think we'll get story time with Ashley!
