since it's being discussed in the Kaidan thread, who's the best third squadmate to go with Shepard and Ashley?
For my Adept MShep it'd be either Legion or Tali so that the team can have a pure biotic, pure combat, and a pure tech for an all around beatdown with every type of power. plus with Legion's sniping skills Ashley can use all her weapons and not be stuck abck all the time as my sniper, maybe run into the enemy with her shotgun >
Garrus...
but really, who didn't see that coming from me?

As for teams, initially it was Ash and Kaidan, but I have since tried every combination and it is now Ash and Tali because I need everyone to be proficient with the shotgun and I choose Tali over Wrex for that, because both my main Sheps are Vanguards and I need someone for lockpicking, i mean a tech expert.

Shepard: "Guys?"
Kaidan: "Uh... Maybe we should help her?"
Ashley: "Nah. She knows what she's doing."
Kaidan: "... if you say so."
Shepard: "Guys?"
Long story short: she now wanders around in Benezia's hat thinking she's Queen Victoria.

Then again, they've kind of already done that approach with Miranda so that might be too similar.
Mainly I'm just thinking that in ME1 Ash wasn't nearly as savvy to a lot of goings ons in the universe and yet she still was pragmatic and realistic ("pessimistic" by some Shepard's standards). So I'm wondering if learning more about everything has made her MORE so or made her more open minded.
I feel like all of this is a double edged sword. Interacting more and on a regular basis with the Council and their allies would bring greater understanding of different species, different walks of life, different ways of dealing with them diplomatically and probably more empathy. On the other hand, negative experiences in those categories could serve to enhance the chip on her shoulder about non-humans.
I'm just wondering which way they'll go.
I'm DYING to see what she was up to while Shepard was gone.

I'm so curious to see how Ash has handled SpecTRE status. She's very efficient, sometimes a bit of a renegade. It will be interesting to see if it has hardened her a bit. Matured, naturally, but I'm wondering if that maturity also comes with the price of becoming kind of cold in certain situations.

It'd be awesome if she was the Spectre involved in the Batarian Orbital Mirror System thing.

If you save the Council, they send a Spectre to Batarian space to somehow deal with the situation. It ends diplomatically with the Batarians stopping the development. Of course, that's the "official" story. Great potential there.
Though if you didn't save the Council it apparently ends with raids on Batarian colonies or something.
There's potential for the VS to be involved either way; of course the Spectre possibility is more interesting, don't you agree?

It's mentioned in a couple of news stories in ME2. The batarians developed an orbital mirror system, ostensibly for terraforming. The Council alleged it could be used as a weapon of mass destruction. I don't recall mention of there being a Spectre sent, but that doesn't mean anything.ADLegend21 wrote...

Not unless you're going to be able to convince the Reapers to all come to one planet and stay there and not move for a while. It's too slow, and it isn't a point weapon.xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

sounds like some kind of beam weapon like the one Sovereign fires from his tentacles in ME1. That could do some damage I think.
maybe they'll find some way to speed it up or improve it or something. *shrug*
I'm hoping that they use this for something:

Default male+female Shepard in the next Super Smash Bros (if one is being made). That would be EPIC.
And the alternate skins could be either the default onyx armor from ME1, ME2 and ME3, or it could be the top three fan-made faces of Shepard. His special attack could be an airstrike from the Normandy. Lol.

Rather poor taste to call Liara "consumed" in a negative manner when she brought you back from the dead, isn't it?
As for the rest, it exists, but it's hardly an insurmountable barrier... and really, the only learned distrust for nonhumans Ashely could have developed is against turians, especially since the asari were the ones who stopped the First Contact War. At least she can get over that, albeit only with a male Shepard and regresses in ME2 anyway, but...
Poor taste?

I have no idea what you could possibly mean.
But seriously...I'd say tough but fair. That Liara dedicated so much of her life to getting back Shepard and back at the Shadow Broker seems to call for...a rather intense level of dedication. I deliberately tried to avoid overly negative words like "crazy" or "obsessed" to avoid this, but I guess it didn't work. It's surely in no worse of taste than claiming her to be innocent because that's simply untrue or, worse yet, by calling Ashley religious in a way that's clearly meant to be negative. Plus...it's not so much the barriers can or can't be overcome, but if it's even worth trying at the risk of ruining the relationship.
My only point was simply those girls are not for everyone. For some of us, Ashley is just right. And that's okay.

"Waiting for a Girl Like You" by Foreigner [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
That is adorable. Foreigner is way awesome. I can imagine a Shepard singing that to her and...she'd laugh at him, but still be into it.
I'd need something a little grittier for my cynical and hardened Renegon Shepard. I guess I'd have to go with..."37 Stitches" by Drowning Pool (www.youtube.com/watch).

Agreed. Recent tweets, about "love working with this lady" put me at ease and yet...I'm the tiniest bit worried this maturing will be taken too far. Calm and collected is fine, but...it's not something that should define Ashley. There's got to be some happy medium between handling herself in a way that honors and exemplifies the Spectres, but still has echoes of her original self.
Plus, while I'll fight this to the bitter end...the whole "Mirandafication" is bad enough just dealing with appearances. If she's anything remotely like Miranda in terms of personality...it's only going to be a bigger problem.
What's that line she has with Kaidan, about Asari and their lighter armor? She says something funny about them avoiding bullets. I want to keep that bluntness. Just because she has newfound respect for aliens, doesn't mean they're suddenly flawless.
