I'm confused as to why Anderson is on the Normandy WITH Shepard. The only logical thing I can come up with is that Shepard went to the Citadel to see Anderson / turn himself in / see what could be done about this bull crap and that's where the Alliance took control of the SR2? It's the only reason I can see that they would ever be on the Normandy together, bringing him back to Earth in irons. Seems strange since I always just figured Shepard would head to Earth like Hackett said. Then again, he trusts Anderson so maybe that's why he made the detour to wherever the SR2 picked up Anderson and some Alliance crew.
I had a similar reaction and I brought it up in the Vega support thread, where someone suggested it might just be a show for the batarians and I hope it is, because I'd rather have my Sheps go to Earth on their own free will.

/random and not Ash related. Well I suppose it is. Do you think when ME3 starts "at the trial" which I think is where we're supposed to think it starts, that Ashley will have already been on the ship with Shepard? Because that would suck to not have a moment where they ACTUALLY see each other for the first time.
I still think, the actual games starts at the trial and the flight to earth might be a way for players, who do not import a file to make their decisions in the way that they tell Vega, who guards Shepard and probably only knows vaguely what has happened so far, the details of how they saved the galaxy twice.
If that's the case, I hope Ashley isn't onboard, ... (see the bolded part of what I quoted)

Then again, she's a SpecTRe now so she probably wasn't even working with Anderson when they boarded the Normandy and slapped irons on Shepard. Maybe the first time we see her on the ship is actually when we see her in the demo.
I think/hope so, too.

My goodness. I haven't had any coffee and I'm not feeling well so I'm totally rambling. Sorry guys.
I know the feeling, happens to me all the time.
