The Ashley Dialogue Challenge!

I realized I had already written this small bit of fanfic, so I altered it a little to make it more of a dialogue and this is the result:


The Reapers have been defeated and Shepard and Ashley go back to the place they first met: Eden Prime.
 
Ashley: Here…This is the place, the place where it all started. God, it takes you back. All of them getting slaughtered, caught in the crossfire.
Shepard: You holding up, Ash?
Ashley: And I didn’t. I, God knows how or why, survived.
Shepard: You’re not still blaming yourself for that are you?
Ashley: No, I’m past that, I’m just thankful I didn’t now, that I got a chance to show those Reapers what extinction feels like.
Shepard: May they rest in peace.
Ashley: What the reapers? I think you mean pieces.
Shepard: No, the 212, silly.
Ashley: “Oh! Right.” Ashley smiled a little “Actually I hope they don’t rest in peace, they were good people, and they deserve to be watching from up high.” She let a sigh go and continued: “Well, to the 212!”
Shepard: to the 212.
 
They stood there for a minute or so, in complete silence, until Ashley spoke up again.
 
Ashley: You know Skipper, this planet is not like I remembered...at all, how can a place change like that in just a few years?
Shepard: Perhaps it has changed with us, as we changed and grew closer, so did the colony find harmony with itself.
Ashley: And here I thought you had left your cheesy sayings behind.
Shepard: And I thought you had left your bun behind, so that makes us even.
 Ashley: Hey! That's in memory of ... the olden days.

Suddenly they embraced each other. A small tear ran over Ashley’s cheek, rolling onto the shoulder plate of Shepard's armor. Her emotions were a mix of sadness, joy and relief, she didn’t know because of which of those she let a tear go, probably all of them. They looked each other in the eyes.
 
Ashley: “O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won;”

I've been thinking this every time I see that scene for quite a while now. Glad, I am not the only one.
In fact, I have just been there this weekend. It's just a little confusing that Anna is getting called 'Sir' now and occasionaly speaks with Meer's voice

*At Shepard's Wake.Gabriel is staring at the empty coffin with his father's portrait ontop, Shepard's star of Terra case clutched in his hand. Ash decides the best thing is to introduce herself.*

Gabriel: So... I'm sorry, but I never caught your name?
Ash: My name is Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams. I served with Comman - Your father on the SSV Normandy.
Gabriel: Really? Well. I'd say 'pleasure to meet you' Ms Williams, but I don't really think the circumstances call for it.
Ash: That is understandable. It's been painful day.
Gabriel: Please, Ms Williams, *voice breaking slightly from tears.* I really, really don't want to hear anything like that. My hand to god, I don't want to hear it. *blue chrona flares slightly from biotic implants reacting to his grief and anger, Ash isn't surprised.*
Ash: I just wanted to say I'm sorry.
Gabriel: I don't want to hear it, ok? *crying intensely, voice is shaky but not completely broken yet.* Dad promised me he'd come back for my birthday next week. I am pretty f*cking pissed off right now! I don't want pity speeches. I've gotten enough of them from people I don't know. The admirals, a whole bunch of aliens and some reporters were offering sympathies - hell, the **** just wanted to smear my Father.
Ash: Who was that?
Gabriel: *calming down somewhat.* I dunno. I can't remember her name, it was almost retardedly long. But she worked for some agency - Westerlund News or something.
Ash: *nods knowingly* Oh - her. Yea. Skipper wasn't a fan of her either.
Gabriel: Yea - *laughing a little* she went off screaming for someone to arrest me or something like that.
Ash: What - did you do? Punch her in the face?
Gabriel: What? No. I'm not that tall yet. I used my biotics to crush her camera drone small enough to fill a coffee cup. *proud grin*
Ash: Seriously?
Gabriel: Dead set.
Ash: ...*smile* I knew I'd like you.
Gabriel: *stern and serious* Tell me something.
Ash: Anything.
Gabriel: Did Dad - Commander Shepard - pull any good pranks on the crew? 'Cause unfortunately, I'm out of material for the Academy.
Ash: Oh - did he ever!
Gabriel: Do tell, do tell.
Ash: Ok - The really fun ones he got myself or Kaidan - another officer - to help him. Anyway...

Ash is napping on the bed.
Door opens, Shepard is going in with a salver in his hands. Ashley wakes up.
-Just breakfast in bed for my beauty, - Shepard modestly smiling, puts a salver next to her. -Sorry for waking you.
-Its okay, Skipper, - Ash thankfully smiling. -Thank you. I just wanna ask you one thing -do you really waited for me all that long time?
Shepard not answered, moved closer and kissed her. Leitenant Williams still enjoy his leps. Because they always reminding to her all the nights they spent together. Ash and Shepard.
-Yeah, and you know what? - he finally answered. - You worth it , Ash.
-Oh , Skipper,..-and she kissed him again.

By the way, i have an idea.
Maybe is a stupid , through. Is someone are in the Steam Community? Maybe we should made community dedicated to Ash in there. What do you think?

I have a question, slight or slightly not Ash-related.

I've just replayed Mass Effect 2's storyline. Why do I get the feeling that T.I.Mmy boy set up the Collector Attack on the original Normandy and arranged for Shepard to die, become the subject of Project Lazarus all to get the Commander under his control. Imagine how much of a rage the Commander would go on (para or rena) if that were the case. How much of a rage Ash would go on?

Now that I think about it, that is a plottwist I would accept.

Just finished played DA:O through again and normally I skip through most of the dialogue because I've heard it all before, but with Anayla (sp?) I listen to it all normally just because I miss hearing the voice of Ash.

That's been suggested elsewhere, and I'm coming around to it. It all seems to work too according to plan for TIM. Up until Shepard wakes up.

Side note: I'm fairly certain at this point the TIM has never made a wise decision. Ever.
