Now I'm wondering: If Ash were a companion in Dragon Age, what class would she be and what specializations would she have?

I loved meeting her, a nice little nod to Ashley Williams as she quotes poetry too! Posted Image

She wouldn't be much different, Warrior is basically the Dragon age version of soldier. I can see her with two handed weapons.

Top Ash with Joker and Kaidan! Posted Image

*sparring room*
Shepard:
You're really pissed today. *Blocks a couple more punches*
Ash:
With good reason. *ducks under and tries to sweep his legs out from under him*
Shepard:
Feel like sharing? *jumps back to avoid it, Ash puts him on defensive.*
Ash: *Punch*
The! *punches harder* ****ing! *Punch slips through his guard and smashes his gut* Council!
Shepard: *Swears in gaelic and stumbles back with a groan.* It shows.
Ash: Sorry.
Shepard: Nah - I'm sure I deserve it for something or another. *shakes head with a laugh* Scratch that - I definately deserve that for something.
Ash: How about for being dead for two years?
Shepard: Yea. I'll go with that. *both part and take a break* Now you know why I hate those as*holes. I hate all politicians in general.
Ash: I always hated them, before working for them. The amount of times they screwed you over!
Shepard: They still screw me over. But admittedly the only reason I'm not in an Alliance prison is because of my Spectre status.
Ash: *slaps Shepard on the shoulder, walks past him for her waterbottle* Least you have the 'Galactic Savior' card going for you.
Shepard: No doubt about it. That does help and I won't deny I have a lot of fun with it sometimes. Gabriel is still demanding that I should get the title 'God Emperor'. I'm just good with Savior.
Ash: *teasing, hand to chest in mock surprise* My Gosh - is the paragon Jonathan Malcolm Shepard... admitting to abusing power?
Shepard: Not going to ask how you know my middle name, but *Holds fore finger and thumb up to indicate a small amount.* Just a touch.
Ash: Well for that. I shall admit that being the Galactic Savior's partner-in-crime, so to speak is pretty fun too you know.
Shepard: That right, Staff Lietuanant Williams? *sly smirk*
Ash:
Yes it is. Commander - Major Shepard. *Walks fingers up his chest and moves closer for a kiss* It's damn fun...
Joker: *interupts over PA.* Sorry to interrupt Major but -
Shepard: Goddamn it, you better be DYING, Joker! If not I'll kill you!

edit: about the movie: while it has been said, that the movie will be about male Cmdr. Shepard it will NOT be about the events of the games, so I don't think Ashley will be in it.

The fact that they don't even bother to spell Shep's name right scares me. Also, if Ashley is not in the movie count me out. The three games are enough of a "movie" for me.
Plus, interactive Ashley is much more fun. ;)

I know it still deserves a facepalm though...and to be honest I'd rather not have them put Ashley in, the voice is going to bother me, even if she'll look like Ashley. If there are only a few people in there that we know it might still work, but...I just hoped they would have looked beyond Shepard.

I think it's pretty obvious they'll make liara his LI. One of those writers at bioware loves liara.

Tbh, I dont much care for the movie, even if Ash is in it as I doubt they will get her character correct. I wish they made a different story in the same universe and not a film about Shepards story. I'm not paying to watch the experience I had with Mass effect get destroyed as what choices Bioware make with Shepard in the movie I will feel like my choices are the wrong choices. I know they'll do a great job with ME3, but I'm just going to pretend there's never going to be a movie. Stick to making games please, Bioware!

Anyway I feel I've gone a bit of topic, back to Ashley! :D

I played ME1 with Ash, Tali, and myself as the core team. I romanced Ash, and when ME2 came along, I was so excited to see her during the opening sequence on Horizon. And then we all know what happened. I couldn't believe she wouldn't come back on board. Pissed off or no, Ash, it wasn't like you to just ditch me like that!

I went on the rebound to Tali. It made sense overall---the three of us'd taken on Saren together, and the bond I had with Tali was almost as intense. We connected instantly, and as of last year I fully intended to tell Ash to bugger off in ME3. I took her reaction in Horizon as a betrayal of what we had.

But now a year has passed, and over that year, I've slowly come to realize that Ash is the one, and has been the one all along. Tali needs to go become an Admiral. And have Quarian babies. And I need to go find Ash.

I think the moment I think of most is the "from the wreckage" moment in ME1... after defeating Saren, I crawled out of the rubble, and the smile on her face at that moment stayed with me, all throughout last year. I literally haven't loaded up ME1 in over 15 months, but I still think of that moment.

So yea, Ash---I've been a jerk. I messed around with Tali. And what you did on Horizon was a jerk thing too.

It's time we made up.

Sparring with Ashley always leads to sexy times. Shepard likes sexy times. It's nice.

I was out of the movie when they said it was about Shepard and shepard was male. It'll spawn all osrts of "Mshep is canon, eff you femshep" threads and hat will just be no good for the BSN, plus ther's a chance it'll be a Liara romance 'save" because She's bioware's character that's going to get dragged into the next series After shepard's story is done, since she's an Asari maiden. But since Ashley's is "always" saved for Male Shep (since stats show Kaidan' sucks hurr derp) she might be in the movie if it's just some random mission.

I'm glad it's MaleShep for the simple reason that Ashley might be the human romance. It'd be a lot easier than having the actor playing Shepard do a painted blue woman with head tentacles...but then Avatar was a big hit..so who knows? Beside no matter what BioWare do...not everyone will be happy anyway. You win some, you lose some.

I just hope it's going to be a good action film, with some really nice stunts and explosions. Like Transformers, Die hard, Battle of L.A. <------speaking of which, there's a female soldier in the squad that reminds me a lot of Ash. Heh that was a good movie.

Iw as kind of hoping it was Femshep so that Kaidan could actually get some love from bioware. I mean they put out that "stat" that 80% of players play Maleshep and in male shep Games he's dead by default. Plu sin Male Shep games he has so little dialogue and you can't even talk to him after you wake up after Eden prime he just says "glad to see you're okay Commander" but as femshep you can talk to both him AND Ashley and get their full convo's. sort of reminds me of that picture where plush toys of the ME1 crew are one shelves and ashley and Kaidan are below all the Aliens. =/

I know it's not fair, but it makes sense. They're going to aim to please that 80%. If it's about ME1 Kaidan and Ashley will both be in it to some extent. So there's no worry. Besides it's a movie.

Has anybody watched that movie Battle of L.A? There’s a female soldier in the squad that would IMO make a great actor for Ash.

This math...I like! Posted Image I't doesn't stop there though...Being down and feeling how hopeless a situation seems, also leads to sexy times....Very danger missions also lead to sexy times. Granted they probably spar atleast once a week... so that would lead to a lot more sexy times.

I wonder... does them both being Spectres automatically lead to sexy times to, just so they don't need an excuse anymore?

Well that's what ME3 is for! I mean a movie is fun and all and I agree that it could point the attention towards Femshep and Kaidan a little more, but it's still not the heart of Mass Effect. And whether it's maleshep or femshep...it's still isn't gonna be your Shep or anyones shep, for all we know it might portray mshep pretty different from ingame. Atleast they'll give everybody some love in ME3.

Being a spectre Ashley now has the right to disagree with Shepard, which can lead to arguments which… then can lead to more sexy times. After three long lonely years...There’s going to be so much sexy times had!

Emotional reunitement -> Sexy times
Argument over an important big choice Shepard just made -> Sexy times
Argument over Ashleys new outfit -> Sexy times
Argument over captains quarters interior design-> Sexy times
Argument over ranking and whos in command -> Sexy times

Add some sparring and a dangerous ending mission and I think you have a pretty realistic prediction of how ME3 is going to play out

The Normandy's going to be filled with soooooooo much steam. People are going to be choking on it. But Shepard and Ashley don't care...sexy times are being had.

Garrus: "so...first the captains quarters became totally off-limits...then the gym was suddenly a restricted area..and now the elevator is out of order?Posted Image"

*Sounds of ecstasy comes from elevator*

Vega: I think they're making up for lost time....
Garrus: This is all Joker's fault. What a tool he was! If only he didn't c*ck-block them all the time on the SR1.
Joker: I've got video y'know. You better be nice if you wanna see how all that steams made.
Vega: I'm in.
Garrus: Me too.

How did we end up talking about the elevator again? I thought we buried this!

The steam started it....besides it's hard to bury an elevator...It's pretty big.

As for Joker and his vids...

Shepard: "I'm afraid you're becoming more trouble then you're worth!"
Ashley smirks and chimes in:"This is an outrage!"

I think it would be pretty hilarious (and sad) if Shepard slowly turns into the man he always despised. *goes back to digging*

Ok, in the link I have posted this morning, it says it will be a completely new story unrelated to Mass Effect 1 or 2, that means it will probably be about Shepard before the events of ME1, that makes the most sense. Unless they retcon that part, where he meets Ashley for the first time on Eden Prime or Liara on Therum neither will be in the movie.
But as always there is a chance I might be completely wrong about that and they make a story that takes place in-between the games or even after, ME3 will already be out when they will be finishing the movie.
Personally, I hope it's a story that shows us Shepard before ME1.
When I come here, I see people posting bits and pieces about their differentSheps and I love it; it's one of the reasons I come here, in fact.. Seeing different stories around Shepard, that are unrelated to my own in-game experience, hasn't invalidated my own Shepards to me so far, I still don't know who that guy on the cover is, as I have never played with the default face and it still doesn't alter my enjoyment of the game.
In that light, I see the movie. It's just one possible Shepard, in that case one created by Legendary, but I see how it might be more official, since they are working closely together with Bioware. In any case and as always, I will wait until I know more, until I make a judgement about the movie.
Thank you for your attention and now back to Ash and sexy times!

I've been wondering: Do we know if Vega outranks Ashley since he's a lieutenant also? If she's a spectre and they are both npc squad mates I suppose it won't matter too much but I was a little curious. What if he's a First Lieutenant? Is there a major difference between the role or authority of a First vs Second Lieutenant?

That's actually a fair point, perhaps I should withdraw from making judgements for now, aslong as Shepard has something inherently Shepard about him..you're right, why not. putting it in another light, might make it more enjoyable.

And even more sexy times? *ahem* sorry, in mean: Moar! sexy times!

@Orion; I don't think we know Vega's complete rank, so I don't know, but since a she's a Spectre it indeed shouldn't really much matter.
