Oh god, please don't let this be a sign that they are writing her to be a one dimensional hateful racist like everyone keeps saying she is. There is still a little bit of hope, like how a previous writer had expressed that she had gotten more mature and sure of herself since Mass Effect 1, which in turn might mean that her feelings of inadequecy due to her grandfather's history (the primary reason she has issues with aliens) might not be an issue anymore and thus she wouldn't be considered 'racist'.

If done right Ashley has the potential for a really interesting character arc that would make her come across as a fully three dimensional human being with emotions and flaws and ever changing worldviews, I'd hate to see all of that go to waste in favor of a 'lol b*tch hates alienz lol' plot twist that reduces her into a one dimensional caricature because any character who is actually complicated and flawed is immediatley judged as a 'b*tch'.

All the same, if the writer is just joking around he shouldn't because as others have pointed out, it pisses off members of the fanbase.

If I interpret the source material correctly, Ashley doesn't hate aliens.  She hates politicians.

yeah i certainley agree with most what you say.  i certainley understand why she would hate aliens if it wasn't for them my grandfather and her family wouldn't  of gotten blacklisted.  she is a certainly a complicated character when it comes to aliens and thats why i think shes great. maybe she has dislike towards aliens because she doesn't want to admit  it was the alliance that was wrong to persercute him. come on being outnumbered what else shouldve he have don.

Personally I think 'hate' is too strong a word, especially given that Ashley says and does numerous things to disprove the accusations that she's racist. Like hating Terra Firma and happily volunteering to work with the Salarians on Virmire or hoping for improved relations with humans and quarians or flat out telling Shepard that she doesn't think humans are 'superior'.
I don't deny that Ashley has issues with aliens, I just think that said issues are a lot more complicated then just a flat out 'she's racist', I hope like hell that whoever is writing Ashley now agrees with me.

No, Phobe means fear and Ashley has no fear of Aliens. She had a mistrust of Aliens on the most advanced warship in the Alliance fleet since they could just as well send information back to their species about it's ins and outs. While working the STG on Virmire she shows no hesitation, no fear, and definitly no hostilities towards the Salarians one bit andeven leads them to the A tower if Cpt. Kirahee dies. She may find it harder ro turst aliens than humans, but that doesn't mean she's a Xenophobe or a racist, she's cautious.

Xenophobia and racism isn't the same thing, I wasn't trying to put her down. Part of that mistrust is/was fear because she hadn't worked with them before. It doesn't detract from the character, IMO the character flaw adds to it.

I just thought of an awesome way to end the 'Perfect Paragon' ending of Mass Effect 3. At the end, maybe after the trial and Shepard being pardoned for his crimes (the man saved the entire galaxy, anyone who still would wanna convict him would probably be snuffled out completely), we get a scene of the cast without Shepard in a bar trading shots and stories. Shepard greets the gang, sits down and joins in. A tune comes into the room and Joker gets started on singing 'Piano man'. Ash joins in after a line and the entire human crew join in then they wait for shepard to finish the chour and it fades to black as the song plays.

Well, bad knowledge of english played a bad joke with me.

I was doing my 'canon' walkthrough. The plan was - a paragade Shepard who doesn't cheat on Ash during second game. When my Shep talked to Jack I once misunderstood what it was all about. And in the next dialogue I realised that I accidently triggered the romance. I rejected it, as soon as understood, but!.. It ended about 'i can't make it right' or something. Does anybody know does it counts as cheating or I have to replay about half a game?

I twas weird the other day, I was doing a single PT for my Canon Mshep so Miranda could hav a PT where she's his only girl and I avoided Ashley like the plague except for the paragoning convo and talking about her family but she still dhowed up at the lockers so I had to be super pissed at her to keep the romance at bay and Shepard was like "now's not the time for sarcasm Williams" and she looked so hurt. It's also weird that friendship handshakes DON'T get shown on Horizon which sort of makes me hope bioware's serious about friendship paths getting deeper because they show the romance hugs in a movie 360 degree camera but they snap away for the handshake until it's over. Lame.
