yeah permanent Death for dumb AI would be a travesty. even with Ashley's increaded health and armor if she dies because her AI sends her to a far off cover and she gets lit up and then she's gone in the next cutscene then I'll be so pissed. but then again they would have to announce something like that because that effects the story.

Top Ash because Ash does all the killing.

While I think it's possible, I think it'd be more the writers going, "oooh, those forum folks have a great idea!  let's use that!" rather than what was originally intended.

I don't think the Collectors were there for Ashley: I think that tIM let slip that Shepard would be on Horizon, which got the Collectors there, while he told Shepard that the Collectors have an interest in Ashley, which got Shepard there.  That she didn't get picked up along with Lilith and co. was "good luck" or "bad writing/bad animation."

I think they were there for Ash. At least inasmuch as she's a lure for Shepard. I mean, why else take the Normandy crew? Twenty-odd people isn't really a good return for effort invested in terms of Reaper slushie. They definitely seem to want something that will bait the Commander to follow.

As for why she didn't get harvested, I fanwank that Ashley's armor cleared the effect of the Seeker Swarms before the Collectors got to her, and she was fighting her own way to the towers already and some distance away by the time they picked up Lilith.

It is Sirta Phoenix, after all. It has healing properties. ^_^

If BW is mirroring WWII then we are set for many battles not one and characters should have the potential to die and stay dead. I love Liara but if she had really died in that demo battle then my femshep would have torn the scenery apart ... as well as a part of me would have been in awe of Bioware's taking the kid gloves off. Then I would hit replay and do everything I could to keep Liara away from that 'soon-to-be-dead' mech.

As long as they don't do stuff like that in combat. As someone else said in one of the big ME3 threads, that sort of thing would make combat a chore and not as fun.

Now if they do that in certain scenarios which are clearly distinct (like the SM at ME2's end) then fine, they can kill characters off like that. But not a small little skirmish where the AI gets dumb and runs headlong into the enemies.

/ranting

That's what I meant by more than one main battle if they are mirroring WWII to a degree. There shouldn't be one SM but multiples with a chance to lose members throughout the game. "This is war" CHud and his team keep saying ... that means that loss of life should be seen throughout the gameplay. But ME3 will probably mirror *ME1 & ME2 with little battles, LI love scene pre-final battle then battle where anyone can die.

Hoping they mix it up on all counts but we will see in March. Posted Image

I guess the possible changes brought up would be pretty major, a little too major perhaps. They do seem to aim at upping the scale on everything though.

Dat ToP Ash! It makesme want a comic about her in that style now. About comics: Supposing we'd get a comic featuring Ash what what would you want it to be about?

It's a good sum up though. As for para or renegade romance: Renegade is less...romantic and looks less meaningful. Doesn't mean there isn't love between the 2 of 'm, They just know how to hide it better.

Maybe in your fail of a renegade romance... :P

besides, there are no blue and red choices during the romance dialogue... so I just play it as my badass renegade (who renegades Ash) is just a big dorky romantic.

SO THERE!

That's the thing Ashley didn't make it to the Ship. She wasn't anywhere near it.Unless she was sent on Repaer hunting Missions and found one there's 0% chance she's indoctrinated.

I don't believe she is indoctrinated yet...

though I have kicked around the thought that the VS will be made to turn agaisnt Shepard in ME3. <_<

Anyway, just to add to this convo...

she got stung on the outskirts of the colony and yet she appeared unfrozen at the collector ship area.... what's up with that? How did she magically transport over there? And if she was unfrozen... why the hell couldn't we team up with her for a temp squad mate mission at least!?

A valid question. Why wasn't she taken by the Collectors. Or maybe the Reapers saw the value of demoralizing Shepard because of his feelings towards her and how she essentially tossed them back in his face about being a traitor. In the books and game, you see and learn that the Reapers prefer to use tactics like espionage and subterfuge. Prefering to turn ally against ally. Perhaps they were attempting to f*ck with Shepard's head. God - they aren't the only species that has...

Because she didn't know Shepard was there. My guess is that the VS doens't know Shepard is there until they follow the collectors who are all swarming into one area. by the time they get there (since they don't have wings like the collectors) they only know it's Shepard when they see her.

Ok so, she so became unfrozen and then she worked her way to the ship, like you said. Yet, she would have to have gotten there BEFORE Shepard... remember those dead husks and collectors along the way? Who killed them if not Ash?

Those are game mechanics, to get an upgrade and dialogue that reveals the collectors DO work for the Reapers. Ashley is frozen clearly and the stasis only works when the Colelctors ship is around, She's unfrozen when the ship leaves.

They got into a fight over which of them would get to keep Ashley's shiny phoenix armor.  :wizard:

It's a fair call. Ash could have unfrozen and tried to sneak out, sniping everything or anything she could - yet, the Seeker swarms were still active. How did she hide from them? Or could it be once they've paralyzed someone, they no longer register as a target, therefore they left her alone?

There are so many unanswered questions around Horizon and I am keeping my fingers crossed that Bioware delivers answers. I once questioned why the frick Liara didn't fight on Therum and was swatted away like the question was dumb. Cut to LotSB and Liara mentioned why and I did an absolute happy dance!

Horizon questions will have some happy dances or at least I am holding out hope! Posted Image

Then that goes back to... how did she magically transport to where Shepard was if she wasn't unfrozen until the Ship left?

Anyway, Horizon was just terrible all around it seems. Terrible idea, terrible dialogue, terrible execution it would seem... etc

Indeed. I reckon the reunion would have gone far better if it was something like Badpie had written, or if there was a geniune distress signal from a derelict ship and Shepard+Ash had a temporary mission together where Ash would make stabbing remarks and Shepard would be retorting with either paragon or renagade comments based on the moral path he had taken so far. It could have been a scalled down version of what happened during Joker's mission but people actually have a fighting chance cause Chuck Norris' great grandson - I mean Shepard, was there.

That she was afraid. You know, sometimes its the small things that make a big impact. If they mention something so minor as that then what have they got for Horizon? The fact that Ash looked like she was on a stroll when you run into her and already my mind was like Posted Image????? Weren't you frozen? How did you survive? This isn't my underwear! Oh, wait. scratch that last part. Posted Image

She must have been close. She's been on Horizon for a while so she knows shortcuts, passage ways etc. to get to the controls, plus she was already on her way there!

I have taken Horizon for what I know it to be (Shep's perspective) but I wouldn't comment on how it was done given I don't know where it is going. I have a friend who wrote on a TV show and there was this actor who constantly wanted to make changes. What the actor failed to understand is that he did not know where the story was headed in five episodes down or how his character impacted other characters.

Horizon, or the reason for that exchange, hasn't been told ... so I can't say if it was done well or not. ME3 will either give me license to say "what a crappy scene" or "Ah, I see now ... dang Bioware you got me!"

Indoctrination comes from being around a Reaper for too long. Ashley was put in stasis on Horizon, there was not a Reaper anywhere near Horizon and even if there was she was only stung for at the most a few hours which is nowhere near long enough to become indoctrinated. Ashley's not indoctrinated and hopefully she won't be indoctrinatedin ME3.

well Sovereign implanted Saren  whos to say  the collectors didn't implant Ashley with something.  like i said im most likely wrong and im looking to much into the whole Horizen scene. i still beleive something bad happens to VS in ME3.

Hopefully PMC is right and there's a rhyme and reason for it.

I refuse to believe Bioware would kill the VS, that's just to bitter, unless it's not a forced death, but one depending on your choices. In this scenario perhaps there would be a countemeisure to the indoctrination, or something like that.

Also I agree with ADL that it would be very unlikely in the short time span, though if there was already reaper tech aboard the thing not impossible.

of course im not  saying it will be scripted death of course  i think if its true then they would give u an option to save the VS. but im keeping my mind open. im just not totally convinced  that she didn't escape being unnoticed   and plus the seeker swarms to they where still around untill the collectors left. sorry i had big thought about it in bed but there's just to much going against the idea she is not indoctrinated. but i hope im wrong though
