Top Ash because Ash does all the killing.

While I think it's possible, I think it'd be more the writers going, "oooh, those forum folks have a great idea! let's use that!" rather than what was originally intended.
I don't think the Collectors were there for Ashley: I think that tIM let slip that Shepard would be on Horizon, which got the Collectors there, while he told Shepard that the Collectors have an interest in Ashley, which got Shepard there. That she didn't get picked up along with Lilith and co. was "good luck" or "bad writing/bad animation."

If BW is mirroring WWII then we are set for many battles not one and characters should have the potential to die and stay dead. I love Liara but if she had really died in that demo battle then my femshep would have torn the scenery apart ... as well as a part of me would have been in awe of Bioware's taking the kid gloves off. Then I would hit replay and do everything I could to keep Liara away from that 'soon-to-be-dead' mech.
As long as they don't do stuff like that in combat. As someone else said in one of the big ME3 threads, that sort of thing would make combat a chore and not as fun.
Now if they do that in certain scenarios which are clearly distinct (like the SM at ME2's end) then fine, they can kill characters off like that. But not a small little skirmish where the AI gets dumb and runs headlong into the enemies.

Shepley.
That is all.
It's a good sum up though. As for para or renegade romance: Renegade is less...romantic and looks less meaningful. Doesn't mean there isn't love between the 2 of 'm, They just know how to hide it better.

That's the thing Ashley didn't make it to the Ship. She wasn't anywhere near it.Unless she was sent on Repaer hunting Missions and found one there's 0% chance she's indoctrinated.
A valid question. Why wasn't she taken by the Collectors. Or maybe the Reapers saw the value of demoralizing Shepard because of his feelings towards her and how she essentially tossed them back in his face about being a traitor. In the books and game, you see and learn that the Reapers prefer to use tactics like espionage and subterfuge. Prefering to turn ally against ally. Perhaps they were attempting to f*ck with Shepard's head. God - they aren't the only species that has...xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

I don't believe she is indoctrinated yet...
though I have kicked around the thought that the VS will be made to turn agaisnt Shepard in ME3. <_<
Anyway, just to add to this convo...
she got stung on the outskirts of the colony and yet she appeared unfrozen at the collector ship area.... what's up with that? How did she magically transport over there? And if she was unfrozen... why the hell couldn't we team up with her for a temp squad mate mission at least!?
Because she didn't know Shepard was there. My guess is that the VS doens't know Shepard is there until they follow the collectors who are all swarming into one area. by the time they get there (since they don't have wings like the collectors) they only know it's Shepard when they see her.xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

Ok so, she so became unfrozen and then she worked her way to the ship, like you said. Yet, she would have to have gotten there BEFORE Shepard... remember those dead husks and collectors along the way? Who killed them if not Ash?

It's a fair call. Ash could have unfrozen and tried to sneak out, sniping everything or anything she could - yet, the Seeker swarms were still active. How did she hide from them? Or could it be once they've paralyzed someone, they no longer register as a target, therefore they left her alone?

Those are game mechanics, to get an upgrade and dialogue that reveals the collectors DO work for the Reapers. Ashley is frozen clearly and the stasis only works when the Colelctors ship is around, She's unfrozen when the ship leaves.

There are so many unanswered questions around Horizon and I am keeping my fingers crossed that Bioware delivers answers. I once questioned why the frick Liara didn't fight on Therum and was swatted away like the question was dumb. Cut to LotSB and Liara mentioned why and I did an absolute happy dance!

Then that goes back to... how did she magically transport to where Shepard was if she wasn't unfrozen until the Ship left?
Anyway, Horizon was just terrible all around it seems. Terrible idea, terrible dialogue, terrible execution it would seem... etc

And what did she say about that? I don't remember it.

Indeed. I reckon the reunion would have gone far better if it was something like Badpie had written, or if there was a geniune distress signal from a derelict ship and Shepard+Ash had a temporary mission together where Ash would make stabbing remarks and Shepard would be retorting with either paragon or renagade comments based on the moral path he had taken so far. It could have been a scalled down version of what happened during Joker's mission but people actually have a fighting chance cause Chuck Norris' great grandson - I mean Shepard, was there.

Indoctrination comes from being around a Reaper for too long. Ashley was put in stasis on Horizon, there was not a Reaper anywhere near Horizon and even if there was she was only stung for at the most a few hours which is nowhere near long enough to become indoctrinated. Ashley's not indoctrinated and hopefully she won't be indoctrinatedin ME3.

I refuse to believe Bioware would kill the VS, that's just to bitter, unless it's not a forced death, but one depending on your choices. In this scenario perhaps there would be a countemeisure to the indoctrination, or something like that.Grey34 wrote...
thats what i figured at first but thinking about the other possibility makes sense as well and like i said Jennifer hale said i believe that something bad happens to VS. when hearing that it only strenghtens my theory. i think its a excellent way to drive our emotions and they bioware did say ME3 will make you cry.... oh god im doing it again. i don't want this to happen cause my Shepard has suffered enough Mindoir athen Akuze enough puting a bullet through the only girl he loved will destroy him. and poor Ashley too:(
Also I agree with ADL that it would be very unlikely in the short time span, though if there was already reaper tech aboard the thing not impossible.
