CptData, well can't say for sure, I just realized a month ago that such regulations really exist in some armies)) But, nobody says that they don't violate protocol - indeed they do, though Shepard is still a Spectre, i think that his status override his Alliance duties.

Being a Spectre just means he can do whatever is needed to accomplish a mission - it's not covering love interests.
Most - if not all - armies have regulations regarding relationships between members of the army. Some may be less strict than others, but in most cases it's forbidden. Okay, the Alliance could be different - after all, the game is set in a distant future (170 years from now on). Maybe they allow such relationships, as long as they don't interfere with the protocol.
Whatever - I'm sure we'll see an explanation in ME3 in case of a LI with Ashley. Either BW deals with that issue - or it just doesn't matter for Shepard. Or it comes with some extras to be a living legend - normal rules don't applyAnd in case of Shepard and Ashley, BOTH are living legends.

Well, I'd say the rescue scene is very early in the game already, so if that is when they meet I'm happy. My guess is she'll be aboard the Normandy througout a large part of the game and leave somewhat near the endCptData wrote...
Seems so. Lets hope Ash will appear early in game and won't leave Shepard alone for too long. At least she should be back before the game ends and - of course - for a happy end.
*sigh*
Finally, my comp is too old. Tried to start a new ME-character, but the game is prone to crashes. Of course, it's the feared nv4_disp.dll crash ... had it before, but now I simply can't fix it anymore.
So I need a new comp for ME -> ME3.
Ah yes, you can't go wrong with dancing AshleyFireEye wrote...

It's VERY hard not to like dancing Ash.

Hmmm ... when I was reading a Shepley-Fanfic, I started to ask me how Ash and Shepard can be together without violating the alliance protocol. After all, it's a relationship between a superior officer and one of his warrant officers (believe that's okay for a gunnery / operations chief).
Either it's allowed to have such a relationship, or Shepard is an exception because of his Spectre status - or it is not allowed, and neither Ash nor Shepard are caring. So what's true?

This is something I'm dying to know. At the end of ME1 they continue their relationship...So what? They ignore the rules? Don't care? Maybe Shepard wouldn't care because he's a spectre and saved the damn Citadel so he can get out of pretty much anything...Ash on the other hand...
Ugh..I dunno, It confuses me so!

Well, it didn't stop Shep in ME, so I don't think it would stop him in ME3. If anyone is going to have pause about being in a relationship, I have a feeling it would be Ashley, especially since she's just been upgraded to Spectre (possibly, not known for certain) and lieutenant.

It didn't stop Shepard but it clearly made Ash hesitant sometimes haha but once she realized that their upcoming mission could be their last (ILOS) she quickly caved.

But yes we need more caving..now if they can somehow combine that with dancing, everything would be perfect
