You can simply use standard form and then copypaste the picture in there :)

My Shepard would, first of all realize he has aged much more then any normal person would in the time span, that wouldn't shock him though.

Second of all he'd probably realise that his ideals have changed: Where he once wanted as little casualties as possible, that changed especially after the "arrival" DLC, where he didn't really have a choice, but it still affected him. Now he just wants to stop the Reapers, no matter the cost.

He is also more cynical, has less trust in people, he once hoped that he could change Saren and he kind of did, he once treated everyone with kindness and respect, but now he probably wouldn't try to redeem Saren and he's quicker to (most of the time correctly) judge people.

What about your Shep?

John Shepard.

In short - John was initially an unparralelled optimist. He's become more skeptical and eventually degraded into harsh pessimism.

pre-Mass Effect 1 - he took things as they came, usually with a joke or witty comment that earned a few grins. He helped when he could and had a geniune love for the alliance.

ME1: His attitude remained largely the same but the council's unwillingness to co-operate frustrated him. And the Prothean beacons+cipher gave him a few more nightmares than he would have liked. He was a little restless but remained in good spirits.

ME2: After being spaced and revived, he became a very different man, somewhat unstable (though he hid it very well) and a masocist. He didn't feel human any more and felt more like a machine that was to be used and discarded. He felt even worse when Ashley told him off on Horizon. After Arrival, and the sacrifice he had to make, he agreed to go to earth for the trial even though he pretty much wanted the rest of the ungrateful galaxy to go f*** itself.

Like yours - and I think like everyone's - he would notice that he has aged quite significantly since the start of the whole thing.

Shepard wandered around with a beer in one hand and data pad in the other. There was literally nothing else for him to do. Perhaps leaving the Normandy was a bad idea, even if Chakwas had all but ordered him to take some shore leave. As a Doctor, Chakwas' authority overrode anyone else if she felt they were medically unfit for duty. Chakwas literally took him aside and threatened the most horrific and frightening thing he could possibly imagine if he didn't take some leave - She threatened to call his mother.

So here he was, sitting in the living room of the retirement home that he won off Ahern some years ago. A beer in one hand and a graphic novel in the other - yet he was bored as hell. He sent a burst to his mother an agonisingly hour ago, still didn't get a reply back. He sent one to Ash now that he thought about it, but she hadn't replied either. An exasperated sigh came from him. Even though he disliked being unproductive, it was nice to not have to worry every second of every hour about something going wrong.

"Hey there, Skipper." The seductive whisper caught him off guard and so did the pair of lips nibbling his ear. Shepard nearly jumped out of his skin, turning sharply to find Ash there.

"Helping yourself to a Guinneas?" Ash chuckled, Shepard rolled his eyes tossing the novel onto the seat and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"Or half a dozen." He replied, kissing her on the lips.

"And you aren't even tipsy. Gotta love that liver of steel, hmm?" She teased. "You gotta be pretty bored if you're tossing 'em back without a care in the world."

"God, don't get me started." Shepard answered bluntly, Ash chuckled, taking the beer off him and having a swig.

"Well - Commander Shepard..." She began seductively, dragging him towards the bed. "I'll just have to fix that now, won't I?"

"I do believe you're trying to seduce me, Lieutenant." Shepard bounces back, teasingly.

"I'm thinking that it's working." She giggled, Shepard lifted her up bridle style and pressed his lips to hers. She laughed, he loved that sound.

"I'm thinking so."

<3:wub:<3 Time for my nightly Shepley snippet before going to sleep. <3:wub:<3

Shepard waited for Chakwas to finish bandaging his arm. The bone was snapped clean in two, and if it hadn't been for the wonderful miracle of medi-gel, he would probably be screaming in pain. Right now, he felt very mellow, very calm and experimental proding from Chakwas' medical ministrations that should have had him in agony instead sent him into giggling fits.

"Oh - Stop it, Commander. You're a grown man." Chakwas' accented voice lightly scolded him, though she was probably more amused by his dopey antics than he was.

"What? I deserve a laugh every now and then." He giggled shortly at his own statement. Chakwas finished off the brace on his arm and strapped a sling around his arm.

"You're cut off Commander. No more pain killers for you." The Doctor said, in no way hiding just how funny she thought the situtation was.

"So - what's the verdict, Doc? Its he gonna live?" Ashley came up from out of no where. Well - she came from the door, but Shepard was too busy trying not to giggle like an idiot.

"I'd say the Commander's going to be fine... just a little..."

"Stoned?" Ashley offered, amused.

"That is quite mean." Shepard cut in, sounding oddly serious and feigning offense.

"That's a close approximation, yes." Chakwas answered, nodding. "Give him a few days and his arm'll be good as new. And the pain killers will wear off in an hour or so."

"So, should we keep him here or should I take him to the Loft?" Ashley asked, approaching the bed Shepard sat at.

" Oi! 'He' is sitting right here." Shepard cut in once more.

"Chakwas shrugged. "That's really your choice. As long as he doesn't move that arm in the next few days, he should be fine."

"I am still in the room, girls." Shepard pointed out, now sounding properly offended. Ashley looked him over and smiled before turning back to Chakwas.

"I think we should dope him up more often. He's so cute like this." She joked with a grin. Chakwas merely give a rich laugh.

"Hey!" Shepard glared at Ashley now. "Not very nice, Miss Williams."

"Oh - I have two whole years of sassing to make up for, Skipper. And I haven't even started yet!"

Hmmm ... when I was reading a Shepley-Fanfic, I started to ask me how Ash and Shepard can be together without violating the alliance protocol. After all, it's a relationship between a superior officer and one of his warrant officers (believe that's okay for a gunnery / operations chief).

Either it's allowed to have such a relationship, or Shepard is an exception because of his Spectre status - or it is not allowed, and neither Ash nor Shepard are caring. So what's true?

This is something I'm dying to know. At the end of ME1 they continue their relationship...So what? They ignore the rules? Don't care? Maybe Shepard wouldn't care because he's a spectre and saved the damn Citadel so he can get out of pretty much anything...Ash on the other hand...

Ugh..I dunno, It confuses me so!

Well, it didn't stop Shep in ME, so I don't think it would stop him in ME3. If anyone is going to have pause about being in a relationship, I have a feeling it would be Ashley, especially since she's just been upgraded to Spectre (possibly, not known for certain) and lieutenant.

It didn't stop Shepard but it clearly made Ash hesitant sometimes haha but once she realized that their upcoming mission could be their last (ILOS) she quickly caved. Posted Image

EDIT: Ok that's not right... because at the locker scene Ash came to offer Shepard some support and looked ready to start something right there

Lockers > Engine room... lmao

Thank you Posted Image, i've just been browsing through your story and i like what I see, have to give it a thorough read when i have the time.Posted Image

About the dancing, would anyone else enjoy some slow dancing with Ash&Shep in the captains quarters? even if Shep'll look like an idiot. I'd imagine a scene, remembering the old days: A dinner, dressed up nicely, dancing. it would also serve the purpose of them. remembering what they are fighting for. I'd enjoy that Posted Image

Or alternatively: Wear old loose/sloppy clothes, spill some beers and get loud..that's fun too, (probably would be considered the ''renegade'' choice)

Honestly, I'd be down for any cheesy, sappy, romantic type scene like that.

err.... I mean... pffft, w/e ... moar explosions and shooting nao! *renegade eyes*

Nope. They're all just stuff I make up on the spot.

Duet Effect focuses mostly on Roxanna Pierce.

Goooood morning people (Yes, I only woke up about an hour ago. Shame.)

Hardware does sound dirty and if you're 5'7 I think Ashley's bigger than you lol

I don't know Brain...But when I think of slow dancing I always think of this...www.youtube.com/watch Can you imagine Shepard doing something like this to cheer Ash up? Lol Of course...I think the guy would be pull it off better and be a better dancer than 'Harry' He sucks big time and so does his movies.

Actually, I miscalculated my body height. It's 5'9" (172cm) - still not "big", but should be same size as Ash. Too bad I'm not that attractive like "standard Shep" ... so no way to get Ashley's attention. Then again, it's a good thing not to be overly attractive - it keeps you faithful because less flirty women ...

Ashley is, however, a dreamgirl. Tough, beautiful, nice dark hair, wonderful eyes, straight forward - actually, she can be both: best friend of a man and his lover at the same time.

(And there we're again: computer-women are a bit too perfect ...)

Ashley is far superior looking to pretty much everyone we've seen in the Mass Effect universe so far. The only one that can give her a run for her money, IMO, would be Gianna Parasini.

I agree with...well all of that really. Posted Image  Parasini is kind of similar in looks, so that's no surprise really. It's also a fun fact that both she and Parasini have a bun. go team bun! *It would have been nice if I could insert a bunsmily here, Bioware!*

A couple of days ago while searching for Ash pics I stumbled over a thread "Miranda vs Ashley". There I found a statement that's quite true ...

naledgeborn wrote...
It'll
be hard. Most Miri fans are either fans of Ash themselves or
indifferent towards her. Vice-versa. [...]

Comes close to what I think when talking about Ash & Miranda. Both have something I definitely like - and it has nothing to do with body & looks. Maybe it's because both are basically the same type woman. Then again, Ash comes with a slightly exotic tone - which gives her some extra-sexiness, Miranda is clearly caucasian without any other influence.

And yes ... thinking about this was the main reason why I had to wrote that dancing-contest stuff here in this topic. If Ash & Miranda would have been romanceable in ONE game, I'd have a difficult time to decide for one. At the end I'd decide for Ash most likely - but it would be far more harder to decide against Miranda than Liara.

Does someone else feels like that?

@CptData;
I think you'll find AD on your side :)

But I would find the choice Miranda-Ashley easier, then Liara-Ashley. Not to turn this into an other characters bash thread, but where Miranda makes the first impression of and clames to be a strong independant person, I got the impression she really wasn't, especially the catfight with Jack and sometimes slightly childish behavior (again all my opinion, even so I consider her to be one of the best characters in ME2),
whereas Ashley is a strong independent person. she has a lot of problems/issues, but she isn't different or doesn't pretent to be different from what she appears to be. That attracts me more to Ashley, next to looks.

The thing is: I like love Ashley as a character. Okay, she's just a fictional character, but a well developed one. A R/L-woman like her is someone you would fight for - and you could die, if you lose her. Strong, intependend and - at least in my eyes, capable of being a best friend and lover at the same time.

I also like Miranda, but because of entirely different reasons. She SEEMS to be strong, but she's insecure. She points out her perfectness, but she isn't. She can't give birth (which is a major flaw, especially for her since she appears to be a family person), she's has no mother and therefore no motherly influence on her character. Miranda got "cloned" via altered genes (YX --> XX chromosomes), her source is her not-perfect father who seems to be a person with lack of any ethics.
Overall: Miranda is everything - but NOT perfect. She wants to be, but she isn't.
That makes her a challenging character. A relationship with her could become as wonderful as one with Ashley, but with an entirely different tone.

And yep - this is no "character bashing". There is no need for - every player can have his/her Shepard romancing his/her LI. I don't see any sense in bashing Miranda or Liara or Tali since I don't have to pick them over Ashley. Just stating that I have a thing for Ash and Miranda.

@Reed; Lol, it's always good to have a Krogan on your side.

@CptData; Hmm, yes I mostly agree. My She[ard isn't all that inclined to have kids anymore when all the Reaper-stuff is over, so that wouldn't be a problem. Miranda has enough intelligence to recognize her flaws and the way she unfairly deals with certain people, I hope I can continue to try and make her realize that...if that would happen I would like her more. Enough about her though.

Back to our tough as nails -but secretly very sensitive- Soldier! The picture of the Krogan reminds me to take Ash with me to Tuchanka, She's the perfect kind of diplomat to deal with the Krogan and to help rally them against the Reapers.

After talking so much about Miranda, I feel the urge to post something that makes up for it ...

Posted Image
She's worth it ...

Ashley: I'm glad you didn't break up after Horizon.
Shepard: And I'm glad you wrote that mail. Without it ...
Ashley: ... you wouldn't be my Skipper anymore. Oh captain, my captain ...
Shepard: *embraces her* What do you think about a date? Just you and me, no one else, in the good ol' mess hall?
Ashley: I've got a better one: a date, you and me, in the loft.
Shepard: Not wasting time, Chief?
Ashley: That's "Lieutenant" for you. *smirks*. And we're both soldiers. We could die tomorrow, so there's no time to waste ...
Shepard: When this war is over, I'll make it up to you.
Ashley: You mean all the lovey-dovey stuff, romantic dates and such?
Shepard: Whatever you want, "Lieutenant".
Ashley: Sounds good. Promise?
Shepard: Promise!
Ashley: As soon as this war is over?
Shepard: At the very first day of peace.
Ashley: I've got your word?
Shepard: As an officer and gentleman.
Ashley: Good enough to me *smirks*

@CptData; You more than made up for it! (If it was anything to make up for in the first place. :P)

My canon Shep though he'll demand a 'date', he's been wanting that for a long time. From then on the loft will do nicely.
