I have to disagree about the Shepley relationship. it was definitely a big commitment for Ashley. They love(d) eachother, they were even serious enough to cross the fraternization rules. After two Ashley still is sad when she says "I loved you", it clearly meant a lot to her and so did it to my Shepard...He was heartbroken after Horizon.

As I said before, it kinda depends on what you see as "serious". If it's all about marriage, children and stuff, Shepard and Ashley did not had a "serious" relationship. When it comes to feelings it's hard to tell. Ash & Shepard were clearly "in love" - but did they reach the "love" stage before Shepard got KIA?

I'd like to see Shepley as serious relationship in ME - and if it's not seen as such, it should become one in ME3.

They expressed their love before Ilos, because they feared this might have been the lat time they could, or so I think. Just because they didn't have the babies or family talk doesn't mean they didn't have a serious relationship, I'm unwilling to except it was a fling, just some fun, in that case they would have been more responsible, atleast Ashley, she wouldn't have crossed the fraternization line this heavily if she didn't really genuinely love him.

I don't believe either they just needed to let of steam, that simply doesn't fit to them. Na, I'm sure they wanted it both, and not just for fun. Both had their reasons to go even further.

The most interesting part about Shepley is NOT pre-Ilos, but everything post-Sovereign. They still had a full month to explore their relationship. I'm sure Ashley was referring to what their relationship became in that very month before Shepard got KIA.

I suppose the catch here is 'relationship', if you mean that that hasn't quite formed yet into something long lasting. But however you want to call it I think it was serious.

That's what I believe. I just like to get every inch of information and any evidence to prove that, so we won't see any (bad) surprises in ME3. B)

@ADLegend

I think that conversation is between Liara and Ashley where the asari comments on how she thought that human women didn't serve or something like that, to which Ash replies that it wasn't always like that but people have come around in the last couple of centuries. Sadly, I can't find a video on YT with it right now.

I'm sure Ashley has had sexual relationships before... how else would she be able to call her self a hellcat in bed? Well, I suppose she could by herself... she does have other weapons to checkout after all... :P

It also happens with Wrex. Both Liara and Wrex are impresses that she's on the front lines. In a few missions that involve other Alliance Soldiers , especially the one with the Rachni hive and the alliance outpost, and the CO's and soldiers are female.I can see her becoming a great female role model, in MShep games, because there's already Femshep so she's an addition instead of just on her own.

I think the whole relationship -and the month before Shepard was killed- is supposed to be left up to interperetation by the player about how serious or juvenile it may have been.
Ha, on that note, my Shepard is having a guy meeting with Garrus and Jacob, trying to think of the right thing to say to Ashley...
Shepard: So, i should say... Your waist is very supportive and congradulations on becoming a SpecTRe?
Garrus: Exactly. You let her know that you care about her, and tell her she is attractive! It, um, hang on, kills two Chipmunks with one boulder! That's the expression i was trying to think of!
Jacob: No, no, no! You walk up to her, plant your feet in the ground, and say,"Hey, I'm sorry about the way things turned out. But you and me, we aren't finished yet." Oh, and then tell her how much you've missed her and stuff.
Shepard: How about I just tell her how i feel? That worked last time. I should just be honest-
Garrus/Jacob: NO!
Garrus: Shepard, I hate to break it to you, but most good things are build on lies, including many successful relationships. So you lie, lie your butt off to her. Hell, the only time people are honest with each other is when they're breaking up, right Jacob?
Jacob:........

I see Single Ashley in that Shepard's future. she'd just as soon dump him for Jacob or Garrus if he lies.

Ashley would NOT sing. It just wouldn't happen! You think she would put her self in that position? Think of the teasing from Shepard and Wrex! She'd most likely start raving to some workout music with a good beat IMO.

I feel like Ash sings but only by herself and really really badly.  She's not a musical type.  She (and my Shep) are not creative/ artistic folks. hehe

@Aurora; Ashley would recite poetry whilst shepard plays some sentimental notes on the guitar

And then I threw up.  :P

I'm kidding.  That sounds sweet.  Just can't ever picture Ash and Shep doing that.

Maybe a shower singer.

Also in regard to a couple things in the last couple pages.

DO NOT disparage other characters in this thread.

DO NOT suggest that fans of those other characters are strange or creepy. Here in the Ash thread I have seen WAY creepy things the likes of which all fan threads suffer so don't throw rocks if you live in glass houses people.

I say these things because I've been around a long ass time (ask Pups) and I do not want to see this thread (or Ash's fandom) alienate other Mass Effect fans who drop by.

Ditto.

A feature I'd like to see in ME3 is when people aren't on the squad (Biwoare's mentioned the squad rotates) I'd like to see Character's fighitng along side each other in battle sort of how the NPC's in Halo Reach did. Imagine Shepard and the squad are tearing through an Earth City to get to a landed Reaper and along the way you pass Ashley and Jacob holding off a wave of husks together, that'd be somehting to see.

Could I ask you to take an oath to the effect of "I will not make insinuations to the effect of "people only dislike Ashley/Kaidan because they're human?"" I'd find it most reassuring.

I'd love to see Ash and Jacob in the trenches together. Or Ash and Garrus or Ash and Wrex. Always felt like Ash would speak the same soldier language as Jacob and they could be buds. Ash and Garrus have history that at this point I feel could be a fun rivalry in good spirits. Ash and Wrex? Hands down my fave team from ME1. So tragic when someone's Shepard is DERPY ENOUGH to have to let her kill him on Virmire.

In which instance?  Hypothetically I mean.  We know they never got along but I always just assumed (in my mind) by the end of ME1 whatever bad blood they had was settled.

Who knows what Ash was up to in the 2 years Shepard was gone?

If you're asking about Liara giving shepard's body to cerberus then this should pretty much cover it.

But do we know what Ash knew?  I'm so interested to see what she was "aware" of during these two years and what she wasn't.  Of course I'm thinking that she had absolutely NO IDEA what Liara was doing as far as the body/Cerberus/Collectors.

I feel as though Ash has been woefully excluded from the plan (no wonder she was pissed).

I get that Liara did what she did because she had to.  But if you think about the Shepards involved with Ashley romantically you might think that Liara at LEAST feels guilty over not being able to share all this with Ashley.  And I can't imagine Ash as taking it very well.

:(

In ME3, I suppose. I'm rather interested in seeing them interact. I admit it'll be somewhat awkward if Ashley wants to confess her love to me as part of the sexual-orientation-revealing process while I'm already with Liara...

Why do we assume that Ashley and Liara don't get along?

The only real interaction they have is some vague cattiness surrounding their status as competing romantic options; I don't think we can assume a lot about their dynamic outside that context.

It's true that most of their implied relationship revolves around if you're a male Shepard and romancing one (or both).  But even with female Shepard there is a bit of mistrust and snarkiness, particularly on Ashley's part.  I always thought that "want me to ask about her sex life?" comment was kind of mean even though I really think Ash was kidding around.  I feel that their personalities clash somewhat.  Like, they know they're on the same team, but Ash gets annoyed by Liara's naivete and Liara is taken aback a bit by Ash's blunt assertiveness.

Though in my mind they have come to a strangely close, if awkward friendship by the end of ME1 (but that's just my head canon).

Well I sort of covered that little gap with Liara telling Ashley everything there. I also figure Cerberus contacted Liara because she has no reason to hate them. I can picture Ashley double crossing them, or just saying no to their invite to help them no matter who's involved. She jsut hates them that much.

You know, I was starting to get worried that there was not going to be a new thread on either A) VS / Horizon = I want to kill them or B) Liara / unkillable stalker = I want to kill her ... then I get home after a jog, open the BSN and BAM! All is right with the world again.

Sometimes I just don't get how people can't make happy or positive threads! Posted Image

Why can't everyone just be excellent to each other?
