She's still with the Alliance and kicking. I wonder why she got promoted that quickly and for what. Maybe because a mission or an event that's be mentioned at some point in ME3?
Also does that make her to Shepard's second in command? It seems so, since it appears she's in command of the Normandy in the ME3-demo.

The promotion might be because she's considered a hero and her family name is thereby somewhat cleared, so no holding her back now! and ofcourse she showed what she can do alongside Shepard so that should give her some points too. I'd like her to have done some interesting and dangerous missions aswell.

Do we have to start from scratch or can we continue an existing romance of ME? The feared Horizon meeting can be considered as a break up, the following message tries to repair things, but of course it isn't half as good as a real meeting.

I'd like them to continue the relationship pretty quickly two dialogues should be enough to get the relationship back on track, but I wouldn't be surprised if we'd have to start from scratch again, which could also be somewhat believable.

Every character that came back in ME2 developed some additional traits or lost some others - Tali, Garrus, even Joker has changed. How much character development will we face in ME3 regarding Ashley?
Actually, I kinda dislike the idea she's becoming some kind of "uber kick-ass soldier". She's already the best of the best in ME, so even more could kill her character. Same for poetry - it's fine as it is, it shouldn't become an overshadowing part of her character. Relationship? Please, don't make her another damsel in distress with new issues never mentioned in ME.
Just to name some stuff.
Ashley is great as she is, at least in my eyes, so it's easy to overdo her if not developing carefully.

So. Your turn. My turn is to go to bed. ^^

Maturing is something Í'm excited about, aslong as they don't, like you said, go overboard on that, Ash is a deep personality and she should stay just as complex, giving a fair amount of attention to each of her traits. I expect mainly a change of view and a perhaps very slight change of personality. She should also continue to stand up against Shepard when she doesn't agree with him and not always follow him around like a loyal dog, just like she was the one that could 'stand up' against Shepard in ME1.

That should just about cover my thoughts.

Okay, last posting before gn8-time ^^

Somehow I was hoping for Ash becoming a permanent squadmate. Dunno why, but I don't like the idea of being separated from her for a longer time than an away mission without her. Why? Easy. Whenever someone is taken away from your squad, the evil plot twist may blow a lethal strike to that particular squadmate.

In case of Ash I fear something like this:
- Part of the crew from the beginning till late game
- has to do some incredible important mission and leaves the Normandy
- a mission later you get a distress call from Ashley, but also have to deal with another important mission - you have to pick one.
--> if you go after Ashley she'll survive, but you can't do the other mission. Lets say the other mission is about another squadmember you care for ... evil!
--> you pick that other mission, but when it's done you'll find Ashley dead.

Great ... such a plot works fine on the paper but certainly doesn't work out that well for some guys. Especially if it's a heartbreaking decision - save Ash or an entire world? Must say, I'd save that world ... saving Ashley would feel wrong and put her in the situation feeling guilty being alive while millions were sacrificed for her life. Can't. Do. That.

I doubt they'd kill the VS like that missions in Mass Effect aren't time stamped. You can do them in almost any order. Hell Tali's LM, which is a trial, has been one of the last missions I do, so I'm literally making a government WAIT on me. They won't do a death like that.

UGH... I don't want tons of temporary squadmates... like they join you for a couple of missions then take off and someone else joins for a few missions. 

EW. I want Ashley for the ENTIRE game. Forget everyone else... they can be as temporary as they want.

They should just let us recruit whoever we want for our team and let us keep them as long as we want. F*** this sh!t.

I just read on a german website we won't be able to play main characters of the game - means no Ashley for us. And it is like I said before - we will face different battlefields since the entire galaxy is in war, not just the places where Shepard is dealing with the Reaper threat. Basically, you'll face everything the Reapers might throw at you with your friends in a coop mode.

So I was right?

It also seems as if the coop mode is needed to achieve a major victory in main campaign. Must say, I'm not that fond of it: it is as if I get forced to do the coop part of the game just to see the best outcome. It may work, but it also could be seen as an unfair prereq. What if I want to replay ME3 in 3 years? Will there be still players and servers for coop? If not, how can I achieve the best ending then?

That's what I am wondering. However, looking forward.

*scratched part* it seems as if the coop modus is just ONE alternative to reach best outcome, at least that's what that article says at the end.

Shepard: It really didn't. And I'm betting my credits on that she doesn't want to go after Vega because she's scared she'll lose another person.
