Vega: Under heavy attack, but they won't come through!

Joker: Sorry, Commander, but it's kinda difficult to avoid all that Reaper fire. They nearly got the Normandy already and I won't go right through a formation of 10 of those dreadnaughts.
Shepard: Ashley is hit, Joker. She won't make it if you take too long.
Joker: *sigh* Okay, Shepard. Setting course ... ETA 2 minutes.
Shepard: Thanks. Mordin - how's her status?
Mordin: Can't talk. Need to stabilize.
Pierce: Shepard, we've got another wave.
Vega: Here they come! God, they almost got Pierce!
Pierce: Just a scratch. Now get your head down, greenhorn, I'll do this alone.
Shepard: Miranda, help them out. Wrex, stay here ... we might need you.
Ashley: John ... just in case I ... I die ... you should know ... I love you. I always did ...
Mordin: She got drugged. Or the pain would be unbearable.

I've only ever completed ME as a soldier and a Vanguard. I the Vanguard in ME2
I'm gonna play thru ME3 as ANYTHING but the soldier since I'll have Ash with me most of the time, well, at least on the first run thru.

Unfortunately, the Ashley fan base for some reason or another is a small one.

I love vanguard too! I like a biotic on my team, unless my Sheps a full biotic that is, at first I wasn't a fan of the engineer, but now I have a playthrough going with an engi, I gotta say I've started to appreciate them more. In the end I like all the classes though. I like the Ashley/Wrex combi as squaddies a lot, it's the ultimate ME1 tank-squad, in my experience anyway.

Brain...I think we might have been seperated at birth...because Ash & Wrex is my favourite ME1 army too!  It makes me sad.... That we'll probably only get to have Wrex with us for 1 or 2 missions in ME3. BUT! We get Ashley for A LOT. She's the new XO. I called it.

Wrex & Ash? Dreamteam, especially with an Infiltrator. If everything fails, there is still Ashley with high health regen + Wrex with even more health plus biotic attacks - what do you need more?

And yes ... Ash got hit in the liver, guys. Lets hope Joker will make it through the bunch of Reapers and in time to resue Ashley and the team. If not ... hmmm, nope, don't think of it!

Joker: Everything is decimated. Damn it. This is horrible. The Reapers just completely wrea - Wait.
Ashley: *anxious silence*
Joker: Got a ping on the Ladar. A civie shuttle survived! How in the hell.
EDI: The passenger shuttle is severely crippled. It appears that the Reapers could have mistaken it as debris. Internal systems are at minimum functionality. Lifesupport is offline and I detect three bio-signatures. All fading quickly. They match the data of Commander Shepard, Officer Vakarian and Doctor T'soni.
Ashley: Bring it aboard! I'll be in the hanger bay. Send a medical team on the double.
Joker: Don't have to tell me twice.

*cargo bay, the shuttle is aboard and engineers with welders are trying to get the doors open. Ashley comes through the Elevator just as Garrus stumbles out, gasping for air. T'soni is in a similar state.*

Ashley: Where's the Commander?!
Garrus: *regains breath long enough* In there. Where's the medics!
Ashley: What happened?!
Liara: Cerberus assassin. She appeared out of no where and before we had any idea what was going on. Shepard was on the ground with some debris through his abdomen.
Garrus: We tried to seal the wound with medi-gel. But we've done all we can do. Where the hell are those medics!
Ashley: *bolts inside the shuttle and Shepard is on the floor, bleeding out despite the medi-gel. She knees at his side, gently pulling of his helm. Blood is trickling down his face.* God in heaven, Skipper. You look like ****.
Shepard: No... *anguished groan* way to talk to your superior, Ash.
Ashley: I can say whatever the hell I want now, we're both SpecTRes, dummy.
Shepard: *tries to laugh but fails, grunts in pain.* Sassin' me, solider?
Ashley: Always. *Shepard starts to lose consciousness. medics finally arrive. Ashley grabs his hand and squeezes.* Don't you dare leave again, Marine!
Medic 1: Commander. Stay with us!
Medic 2: Too late, he's lost consciousness!
Ashley: Get him to the medbay! Now! *mutters.* You aren't dying on me again, skipper.

Shepard: Joker! Where's the Normandy?!
Joker: Hang on ... EDI, more ECM! They almost got us -static- hullbreach! One more and the war is over for us -static- lost port engine 2. We're almost through -static-
Shepard: Joker, come in. Come in. Can you hear me?
Mordin: She's stabilized now. Need medbay for emergency surgery.
Shepard: Great, just great. JOKER!
Wrex: We have to fall back, Shepard. Vega got hit too.
Pierce: You son of a ... cover me, Miranda. I'll carry Vega.
Miranda: Will do. Where's the Normandy?
Shepard: I have no idea, Miranda. Lost connection.
Mordin: Life signs are fading.
Shepard: JOKER!
Pierce: Ouch! What am I? A target?
Miranda: Pierce got hit.
Wrex: They're coming. Good day to die.
Shepard: Not yet ... *picks up gun* ... make sure they don't get Ashley. I'll lure them away ...
Wrex: That's my job. The Normandy needs you.
Shepard: You stay. I have to do this - for Ashley ... *storms into crowd with his assault rifle firing*
Wrex: Stupid. Shepard. Stupid.
Mordin: Can't keep her alive any longer ...
Miranda: Guess it's over. Doesn't matter anymore, Mordin ...
Pierce: Hope they'll make it quick ...
Wrex: As I said, it's a good day to die.
Pierce: There they come again ... make ready!

@Mega; Yes an army is an accurate description of those two together! I hope the few missions with Wrex are filled with some great dialogue between ASh and Wrex, to make up for his lacking screen time

And I'd love to assign my squad to different positions on the Normandy.
Shepard: Garrus, I'm tired of your endless calibrating, it's time you start leading again: You're the new XO. Tali, I want that mass core in perfect condition, you'll be chief engineer. Vega, you're up for guns 'n calibrations. Liara, Ships scientist and that leaves Ash for ehh, Captains quarters, to..do..I mean...to feed the fish! Yes, to feed the fish.
Ashley: Really, Skipper? You're gonna be that obvious...
Shepard: Oh...Well, then how about personal advisor and private counselor?
Ashley: What would that job consist of?
Shepard: Basically, yo work in the ships top level, checking on the mental wellbeing of-
Ashley: Your fish?
Vega: How about just say: Ash bunks up with me every night? Pff and she clearly wants to have the armory as workspace, so let her deal with the guns and calibrations.
Ashley: *Smirks* I'm liking you more every minute, kid.
Shepard: Hold it, hold it. And you're just going to sit here doing nothing Vega?
Vega: Ofcourse not, I'll be personal advisor and private counselor.
Shepard: Wait..What!?
Ashley: Great It's a deal then!
Shepard: No-
Vega: Don't worry I've never let a fish starve before. Well, haven't ever looked after a fish before but..
Ashley: He'll do fine Skipper! You said you needed someone doing that job. I'd just be distracting you anyway. *She looks at shepard in a challenging way and winks*
Shepard:.... EDI, what just happened.
EDI: I believe the appropriate expression for this situation would be: "The joke's on you".
Ashley: And that wasn't a joke right EDI?
EDI: Indeed, you detected my sincerity perfectly, Ms. Williams.
Shepard: I should-
Ashley: Go?
Shepard: Stop it!

(Oh wow that unintentionally turned into a dialogue, lol.)

He seems more of an alcoholic to me...  BUT it's all good! Shepard can handle his booze as seen in the game. Wonder how much Ash could drink before keeling over? Seriously those two should have a drinking contest with a green alien juice.
